At the end, the man sees his old commander down and against the wall. You can read his lips. "You know me. You saved my life, brother." That part broke me up.
That broke me up the first time I watched that video too
And it still does, every time
He also consoles the man when he starts crying and tells him "Man, it's okay".
More likely he's saying "Jacoby", which is his last name. You can see it on his uniform earlier in the video.
Me too and I've never served but this video and song fucks me up it's messed up man our government doesn't do shit to help out veterans yet they line their pockets with the spoils of war.
I'm not religious, but you two are angels for hosting a fundraiser for veterans on this video.
It's always hard to watch this, have lost too many brothers and sisters since we've been back. Thank you for watching this.

As a U.S. Army veteran I can tell you all these numbers have increased since this video was made. We now have 22 veteran suicides each day.
Oh her tears at the sight of the tattoo. She knew. I felt her pain.
That's where I broke down when I first saw the video as well.

I am a Vet, non combat, and son # 5 is a drummer, so I am happy to hear your Reaction. I am torn apart every time I watch this video. Years after the war, we still have not done what is right with our Vets. HEY Gov, Get it right you fucks!!!!
I can personally tell you that this is true I got out in 2018 and I'm 100% va disabled from ptsd and have tired a attempt on my life with a misfire .. the trauma is real I feel it ever day . I've also lost 5 friends to this as well one that saved my life once .

The sacrifice our veterans have made is immeasurable. My Grandfather served during WWII, as a kid I always asked about the war and he never wanted to talk about it. It wasn't until the week before he died at 99yrs and 4mo old that he told me his war story. It explained his screaming during the night when I would stay with them. The horrors he saw and the things had to do during the liberation of the Philippine Islands is stuff that nightmares are made of. He was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action but carried more than the physical scars for the rest of his life.
All I can say to our vets is, thank you for your many sacrifices and for going to places and doing things that many can't do for us
citizens.
As a country we need to do more for these brave men and women, as citizen, I need to do more than cut a check, a check isn't enough.
My father was the same. Never talked about it, until he was dying, and then he was yelling in German, "Get the plane, the plane." He was a US pilot that opened up Dachau concentration camp. Never talked about it.
Salute our troops they deserve better great reaction it nice to see someone reacts to the with such raw emotion and a good understanding god bless everyone have a good one and take time out of your day to talk to someone if they seem down

Okay but the song is about how we as Americans are failing our veterans; so where is the pride exactly?
Not just America we (I'm a Dutchman) and we are treating our veterans like crap too. Despicable behavior of our governments. Nothing to be proud about. But I do agree we must be proud of those young people who want to protect us, even the people who spit on them.

The band is right: we do not do enough. Our politicians with the loudest lip service for our vets are notorious for voting down any bill that would expand the care veterans get.

I enlisted after 9/11, I couldn't just sit and do nothin to try and neutralize as many terrorists as humanly possible, and I deployed twice to Iraq and once to Afghanistan...I've attended more funerals for my brothers who took their own lives than I ever thought possible...combat vets see, near, smell, and are directly involved in sh*t so violent we can't just forget, or mentally set aside... civilians can't begin to imagine the sh*t we saw and had to do during missions we were ordered to complete...thank you both for watching this vid, it's an important upload that deserves to have more eyes on it...HOOAH 🤘🏻🇺🇸

Yes, you clearly don’t understand. It’s simply a military comfort thing. It’s about a soldier’s comfort from and reverence for the women in their lives. Bc some guys deployed will say that referring to the women back home they hold up high and miss dearly, like wife or mother,, and need her comforting and reassurance in their walk through hell.
Honest feedback, you’d probably get more views if you didn’t pose for attention in the thumbnail and just be genuine
