    • @cheski8468

      Never happen. Now star players, even rookies (cough, Baker) can pick the coach. And the last person they want is some hard-ass disciplinarian who won't let them live stream and twitter during practice. You have to be like the cool parent to coach in today's NFL.

    • @bretarmstrong6303
      @bretarmstrong6303 5 ปีที่แล้ว +79

      Cheski, I miss the old coaches like Parcells who held their players accountable. Now every coach is like the cool stepdad who also gets the, "You're not my dad!" treatment. The only exception is Belichick, and supposedly him and Brady have been at odds, but they also keep it professional.

    • @trevordelepine7708
      @trevordelepine7708 5 ปีที่แล้ว +27

      Cheski the successful coaches don’t put up with that crap. The coaches that let the tail wag the dog, that can’t control the lockeroom, they end up out of a job after a few seasons. Manning would make an awesome Head Coach, we just probably won’t ever see him there because it sounds like he is more interested in a team president position like Elway has

    I played against Austin Collie my first year of varsity football in the San Joaquin valley division.. Absolutely incredible football player..I'll never forget going into my senior year after Austin had already went to BYU and made a impact and future into becoming drafted to the nfl..He and few other undrafted local football stars had came back to our divisions summer camp Passing league to help coach..In which I was rated the number one highschool prospect WR in the sacramento area, based off of my performance in this passing league..Got compliments and praise from Austin Collie and compared to his ability and skill level as a WR..Truly a highlight to my young athletic journey..Sadly I never got the opportunity to take my talents to the next level because of two tore labrum surgeries that followed my senior year coupled with a team who had no quarterback and the division number 1 Running back who actually went on to play at BYU with Austin for his last season before being drafted to the Colts..Good times, tho I might be a little bitter I still hold those praises and compliments from Austin Collie as a highlight to my football memories 😁

    Collie was the absolute truth. 7 and 8 tubs in his first two seasons. That second season, he scored 8 tubs, he only played 9 games. I saw this kid play in high school and at BYU and he was something very special. People will never know this because of the concussions he piling up on him so fast, but if you watched those first 9 games of the 2010 season, you would have seen what I’m talking about. This is one of those injuries where I really felt bad for the dude and his overall potential being squandered.

    I know most people would probably pick Brady as their all time qb if they were building a dream team full of all time greats in their prime. Others might go with other throwbacks like Joe Montana or Dan Marino.
    I would 100% take Peyton Manning everytime and twice on Sunday. By far the highest qb IQ, most prepared, and capable passer I've ever seen. The guy could just devise plays at the line of scrimmage that could dismantle any defense you threw at him.

      gsxerwhite Catching the ball over the middle used to be a life decision. Tight ends and large receivers were typically allocated for those plays. Safeties and linebackers prowled those zones like sharks in the water looking for blood. I miss that. Guys like Woodson, Dawkins, and Lynch have been boxed out of the sport. It feels less like football and more like partial contact litigation.

    vikes with Indy he ran for over a 100+ yrds and beat m ,vikes tried to blitz every play and he only maybe had 150yrds passing that game ,
