- I had my Marshall SV20 modded by Jason at Headfirst Amps out of Melbourne Australia. I didn't have a strict idea what I wanted and I figured he knows better anyways :)

To install them on your katana mkii, the easiest way is to drag the downloaded files to your desktop.
Open up the tone studio with your katana connected and go to the top right corner and click the down arrow. Locate your file and it'll bring it into your library where you can drag them across to the katana :)

@LambChopper678 that is the most GNARLY straight Marshall metal tone I've heard (apart from "holy grail" modded vintage 800's etc that some of the top metal guys used on the greatest metal albums of all time and keep locked away in volts due to their preciousness 😳), im not joking!!!
If that truly is the pure tone without any electronic wizardry when recording it for ur vid (which im sure it is, u dont roll like that) then I wanna get one of the lil 20w studio 800's or send my JVM410H to this guy and see what he can do 🤘🏻

Killer Sepultura reference! Dude check out the new RE-recording Cavelera Conspiracy just did of Schizophrenia. In 40yrs of me listening to heavy music, they still come up with some new sick tones that are tighter than anything I've heard. I just bought it two days ago and love it! Great job with your videos and tone sculpting skills!

I have it and it's incredible how good it is!
Low noise, packed with almost all the features of the empress para EQ ii deluxe and a lot cheaper (less than half the price of the empress)
It's missing only these filters: High-Pass, Low-Pass, High-Shelf and Low-Shelf.
But It has 5 para eq's
Beast mode activated for sure 🤘

Tbh, I'm hesitant to mod my SV20, I really dig it's sound stock. But the depth mod is super tempting!

This question is to all the modeler users here. No hate , Is it possible to get that kinda grind and "grrrk" with a helix or a fractal? If so, i haven't yet. This sounds so raw and in your face, and he is still using an IR. It's fricken glorious!
No hate either but not a chance. This tone can only be replicated with an amp sizzling.

That tone is phenomenal, it's basically the tone I prefer for my playing but without having to use an OD. That's fuckin amazing. How much did that cost you? The modification I mean? Also what would I have to study to learn how to do that myself? I'm already studying to be an aerospace engineer so maybe I can squeeze engineering head units and tones in there too.
I have no idea, Jason said it was pretty complex though.
Lamb, that sounded amazing, your grin said it all. Question: what was your reason for modding the SV overe the SC?
The SC is perfect the way it is, i love the 800 tone. I did consider getting a second one to mod but I’m so stoked on the SV now. I love the plexi tone but it wasn’t what I expected. I had no idea the fx loop was pointless and it didn’t sculpt the way I liked. It was going to be a dust collector
@@LambChopper678 I had an SV briefly and took it back as it just didn't do it for me out of the box. Then I got the SC and I was still a little on the fence with it until I installed the Mr. Scary mod. That has woken it up (at least for my ears), and I love it! Glad the mod worked out for you, it sounds amazing!

That's a chonky-sounding boy. Btw, your videos inspired me to pick up a Kraken (preamp version) and I love it. Thing is, though, given all the amps, pedals, and other tools you now have at your disposal, how do you decide what to play on any given day?
It’s a good question, I’ve never been someone with loads of gear. I always sold to buy new stuff.
I play whatever I’m inspired by at the time I guess. If it’s Megadeth then I pick up the Rhoads or similar and run through the amp that suits the tone I guess. I really enjoy them all 🤘🏻
@@LambChopper678 That's a great answer! I've always been the same: sell to buy and never really built up a collection. Since getting back into guitar I'm slowly accruing some nice gear choices. Add in potential modellers and plugins, I wonder if it's too much and if I should pick something and stick with it.

This thing sounds killer but did you not like the Plexi sound out of this thing? In some of your other videos you had said you really wanted a Plexi for some old school tones and you had one for a little bit then turned it into a monster 😂
I love the plexi tone but I didn’t like how I had no control over the fx loop and it didn’t react like I wanted with boosts etc. If I miss it the good news is they’ll be making them for years to come and I can buy another.
