Hi Amber, I’m slowly making my way through watching all of your videos, and I particularly enjoyed this one because I LOVE straw flowers. I’ve grown paper daisies before but not straw flowers, so I ordered some seeds and can’t wait to grow them. I ordered a pink and white mix and silvery rose from Veggie & flower garden seeds, because I always gravitate towards pinks, but after watching this, I now want to get more colours because your mixed bunches look absolutely gorgeous!🌸🌼

Hi Sharon, wow thanks for watching my videos, that’s so flattering. I didn’t grow any for this season but I will be starting some soon for next season. Not as many this time!

Hi, it was good to discover your channel. I'm in England and I've just planted out my strawflowers and fending off the slugs and snails right now, until they get established. I usually cut mine before they are fully open. Is it better to wait to see the centres?

Hi! Lovely to have you along! I’ve found that they don’t open any further after picking so if you do want to see the centres you will need to wait.

Thanks for the tip, June it is then. I convinced my hubby that I need another raised bed, a very long one along our side fence. We will do this one once our frontyard dries up enough to work on as it becomes a sorry mess with all the rain out here. You're such a great help to me as the timing with all these different plants is something that I need to learn.🙃💚😊

Oh yay! New raised bed! Our plan is to build raised beds eventually but the cost is stopping us at the moment. We might work at building one or two each year. I’m still learning the timing of everything, so much reading and learning to do continuously! I’m with you on the mud and mess, I’ve just been digging dahlias in the mud…boo!

Once you hang them to dry, can you later collect seed from them?

I’m finding that the seed isn’t developed, not like those that are left to dry on the plant.
