A shame there is no english translation or I'd play this without question. I remember when this mod was in the early stages there was an english translation being worked on. But it was a machine translation and frankly made no sense, guessing it was abandoned at some point. No idea why it's so unknown though, but I have no idea how large the Russian speaking Fallout 2 community is.
I think its fair to assume the biggest reason no one has played this is because there isn't an English translation yet. Then again, seeing how popular Fallout apparently is in Russia, you'd think there would be at least a sizeable Russian playerbase.
@Starless Fallout 2 isn't like the original Baldur's Gate games, it was never popular enough to gather a large following of modders. The same goes for my favourite game CRPG Planescape: Torment.

Mods have always struggled with solid writing tbh. its easy to write what you think is this grand epic that's deep and inspirational with hints and tid bits of intrigue, deception and charismatic characters that easily let the player understand all of it, but it usually ends up being cringe as fuck or derivative.
Turns out, writing stuff is very, very hard, especially for video games where one has to deal with stuff like player agency and pacing being out of an author's control.
The art style and sprites of this mod are absolutely gorgeous. And your narration is fun as hell. I've watched your Sonora video and this one a lot because they're a delight.

Scaling the tower felt very rushed and the ending was laughably bad, but oh man, everything else about it is fantastic. The aesthetic is gorgeous. Cheers from Poland from one fan of Fallout to another:P
My dude, I am not sure how i managed to miss this video of yours (ironic given the context of how few, though I hope that has changed since this video came out, people had seen/heard about this game), but it's stuff like this (a passion project, use of the classic Fallout engine, mods and so on) that makes your channel one of the best that I have stumbled upon in the last few years. Seriously, your gaming interests allign with my own, we both have very dry senses of humour and the fact that you were writing for NMA during the same time that I was active on the site almost makes it all feel like it was predestined. All i can say is thank you, I no longer have the time to seek out these sorts of insane projects anymore so to have someone who's tastes are seemingly so in alignment with my own not only doing so, but creating excellently written and very funny long format videos showcasing their splendors is beyond fantastic. Honestly I am so very grateful, and while I am currently entirely unable to support you in a financial sense (let's just say that you don't become a carer for a family member for the monetary rewards) I give you my word that when I am able to do so, I will eagerly. Now I am going to scrawl through all of your uploads to make certain that there's no other amazing projects or mods that I am entirely unaware of, I wish you absolutely nothing but the best mate.
Before I delve further than 2 minutes in the video, I cannot hold my monke brain and must state my theory as to why Olympus may be obscure, or to at least name a sizable factor. The language barrier. The mod appears to be made by russians and as any fellow lad who is proficient in both Russian AND English can tell that many mods do not breach the cybernetic-Iron curtain between the two sides. I have seen dozens of good stalker mods like "Taynie tropi, hardwarmod" stuff that are simply abscent and unheard in the western stalker modding and vise versa (dozens of incredible skyrim mods are obscure in the vodkaland). And the fact that many mods are google translated doesn't help much.
Agree. Despite me not been good at downloading mods, this one is way beyond the simple connotation of the termn, as stated in this review, it feels more like a different, new and original game just built with a pre-existing engine, but sadly the language barrier remains the core problem with it.
To me projects like this give the thought "what if Leonardo da Vinci only had crayons?" Feels like devs like this could do much more with better tools.

This "Mod" made in style of the original dilogy so well (except obviously ripped exoskeleton models) it got me thinking I accidentaly hopped in alternative univerese, where Black Isle had slighthly different team or licensed FO engine to other company.
@Victor Martínez where did you find that? I thought they stopped a while ago.
@Victor Martínez got a link?
@Victor Martínez thanks.
I think you may have answered your own question.
There's a full English playable release. Enjoy my friend
I think its fair to assume the biggest reason no one has played this is because there isn't an English translation yet. Then again, seeing how popular Fallout apparently is in Russia, you'd think there would be at least a sizeable Russian playerbase.
@Starless Makes sense I suppose.
@Starless Fallout 2 isn't like the original Baldur's Gate games, it was never popular enough to gather a large following of modders. The same goes for my favourite game CRPG Planescape: Torment.
@@ianmaluk1 can you please tell me WHY THE HELL I can’t frickin play planescape torment ? When i got out of mortuary i ALWAYS get bored, and I LOVE crpg , been trying to play this game but I can’t
@@LuizFelipe-xw5lk How often do you read?
@@ianmaluk1 I read a lot, almost everyday, I’m not getting bored by the amount of ingame texts, must be something with the universe of the game, that floating skull breaks the ambience a little for me , the setting doesn’t give me the will to explore as fallout 1 & 2 gave me , the problem is with me definitely , not the game

Mandalore is great

I did not know before this video that you actually were russian. Your English is so accent-free and clear that I thought you were a native speaker, though I couldn't exactly pinpoint the accent. Gave you a follow on IG for good measure too!
Great content as always! These projects really need more love and recognition
I definitely wouldn't say he sounds like a native speaker, but his accent is vastly better than a lot of Russians I've heard, enough that while I could tell he was from somewhere in Eastern Europe I couldn't pick it was Russian
@Deo same here he sounds Dutch to me
was wondering why he was going thru the UI flawlessly
Wouldn't say he's accent Free, the Rs are what gives away it. But his Accent is good indeed
@Pelinal Whitestrake he has clean sounding English. Much better to the UK English.
I'm seemingly addicted to your channel now. The way you narrate the story and lore from this game to Morrowind is astounding, as if you yourself are apart of these worlds. Really enthralling, super glad i found your videos. You've revitalized my love for gaming and story telling. Thank you.

Werner Herzog narrating his playthrough of Fallout mod:
If you are idle in one place too long, you get irradiated.
You sleep, you get irradiated.
You travel on the world map, you get irradiated extraordinarily quickly.
Underrated comment
Man the Rainbow raiders quest line as well as raiding a caravan with kid soldiers makes it, like, New Reno level, just smaller
The sheer amount of detail to every aspect of the OG Fallout experience is staggering... The Fallout modding community continues to impress me. It's only unfortunate because I can't experience this for myself. Thank you for shining light on this hidden gem. It will be a good day if this ever gets a full english translation.
You release a new video just in time when I begin to crave for one :D
Having been a fan of yours since your second video went up I am appalled that you are under one million subscribers. You cover some of the most interesting games and conversions and have introduced me to one of my more recent all time favorites, Kenshi, and your coverage of Tamriel Rebuilt is what convinced me to finally give it a go, and it's become a staple of my Morrowind loadout ever since.
Great humor, in depth and interesting coverage, awesome perspective from a part of the world that I as an American don't often get to experience, and a fun story all in the same video, what more can you ask for!
Man, my Warlock senses tingled. What a mad lad!
Oh man, that soyboi bit with the huge chunk of tofu had me rolling. Your humor is on point!
Guess I'm just plain uncultured because I thought for a minute it was some odd block of cheese.
@@Stalkerfan498 I had never seen a block like that before either but he was talking about soybois at the time so I put 2 and 2 together.
I thought it was a sandwich.
I just discovered your channel and the professionalism, obscurity of the games you find and love for the Fallout franchise hooked me. Also helps you're a fellow Slav :D
Your other content being fan games/mods of RPGS and games like Gothic is exactly my taste. Subscribed for sure
Finally got around to playing Olympus, now that they released an English translation, and I can say that I have never been happier to die... in the game that is.
Top-notch voice acting, Warlockery.😉
Watched the first 5 minutes of this video and knew I had to stop and play it for myself, spoiler free. Scaling the tower felt very rushed and the ending was laughably bad, but oh man, everything else about it is fantastic. The aesthetic is gorgeous. A little bit small for a commercial product but outstanding for a free mod. I especially love how they've redone all the sprites, same but different, while nailing the Fallout vibe, oftentimes surpassing it.
I don't know how this popped up in my recommendations but I'm damn glad it did, thankyou for spreading the word about this fantastic game
ALREADY? :O Thank you for your diligence my friend! Seriously wish you well and please don't burn yourself out
Wow, so youtube recommendations just gave me this video out of nowhere, and I loved it! Watching a bunch of your other videos now, I adore the 'narrative review' style you do for some of these mods, so nice to get a review of both the gameplay and the story! Excited to see your video on Enderal because I've actually played that one and absolutely adored the gameplay, but the ending irritated me so much it literally soured the rest of my entire experience with it, look forward to watching it!
wow, best channel i've found lately. good stuff, man.
Its so surreal to see a primarily English speaking content creator delve into Russian obscurity without even mentioning the "cyka blyat" even once
Massive work
Right? I really appreciate how linguistically gifted Warlock is. I appreciate other Slavic content creators as well but they sometimes have accents that can be rough to work through.
"Thanks for not saying "cyka blyat" while reviewing anything Russian-related, I know that took restraint."
I really like the focus on mod content. You should continue to focus on this type of content
Just wanted to point out that the logo for the NWO faction is just the logo for the old nWo WCW group, which must mean it's run by Russian Hulk Hogan!
I know you're never going to get rich making videos in this format but they're so refreshing! I love how more emphasise is placed on the mod itself and the craftmanship that went into it, rather than a high pitched seizure inducing let's play... I'm working though your back catalogue and loving it. Keep up the good work!
I remember watching all of the Olympus cutscenes on their TH-cam channel. I thought it was just like an artsy project. I didn’t know it was a whole game. Absolutely love the aesthetics.
The style that the 3D elements like the covers or banners of that the old fallouts had are always gonna look better than modern games
@Warlockracy In the absence of Mandalore and Sseth I must clearly that your channel's reviews are the most enjoyable out of all. Keep up the great work and may the Monolith be with you!
Nice, I was just checking what was new and interesting on TH-cam and BAM!
Enjoy the ride brother!
Nice Video. Thanks for sharing this gem with us.
Your videos are so entertaining. You put a lot of effort into them. Glad I can watch gameplays of games I'm to lazy to play

Thanks for doing this spotlight.
If people are looking for a good, full-size F2 total conversion, then Fallout 1.5: Ressurection is plain great. Until sensible translation of Olympus appears it's a great choice.
Yes, it’s a great Czech project, about on par with this.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention. You have a new subscriber.
your delivery on "this official is a ghoul. he has a monocle. is it cool to have a monocle? should I have a monocle?" was perfect lmfao
Welp your practically now the reason I know mods like this exist in classic fallout. Like seriously. Also that defender power armor man. That design deserves to be preserved as fine art! ITS GOD DAMN MAJESTIC!
I just died and laughed hearing your voice. Great job nonetheless xD
This channel is pure gold
I've always been a big classic fallout fan and during last months I started seeing those Olympus videos late at night but they were all in russian while all the threads on NMA and other fallout-related forums were outdated or dead. It's really nice to actually get a proper exposition through native speaker - you have a great, or rather great lack of heavy accent for an ESL.
Woke up to a new Warlockracy video. Did I pass in my sleep and this is heaven?
Your narration is fantastic. Thanks for making this video and bringing attention to this fantastic looking mod.
youtube recommendations gave me a gem today
Thanks for doing this man! The slav gaming modding scene was a huge blind spot for me and your analyses are both funny AND smart.
I love rare shit like this.
Agree. Despite me not been good at downloading mods, this one is way beyond the simple connotation of the termn, as stated in this review, it feels more like a different, new and original game just built with a pre-existing engine, but sadly the language barrier remains the core problem with it.
New favourite channel
Absolutely loved this review, subbed. I’d love to see you cover more classic Fallout mods like Sonora or 1.5, or even Fo1 & Fo2 themselves!
yeah, I'll probably do them all eventually. the vid after the next one will be another large FO2 fan game
@@Warlockracy Absolutely awesome, can't wait! :)
WOW this game looks amazing! Thank you so much for making this game devs!
To me projects like this give the thought "what if Leonardo da Vinci only had crayons?" Feels like devs like this could do much more with better tools.
The problem is that sometimes limitations breed innovation. I doubt it would be even remotely the same on modern tech with modern gameplay
Saw your stuff posted in the SA morrowind thread. Love your vibe. Thanks for covering stuff like this that I'd probably never take the time to play even if it were available in English.

I didn't think I'd sit here and watch 40 minutes of an obscure russian conversion for a game I haven't played in 10 years but here I am.
Love and appreciate the work the modders put in the game you put in this video. I played until I was unable to turn off the radiation poisoning (the option to do it mid game did not work) and was worried I was missing out on something special. Luckily by showing me the ending you have removed the fear from me haha
Imagine my surprise today when I die playing this mod for the first time and I recognize Warlockracy’s voice.

Man I love this channel
Хорошее видео! I love the Fallout series, and is always fun to see giant mods like this, even for the older games. Thank you for sharing this!
Я учу русский, а ещё знаю очень мало. Это трудно, зато я люблю это. It was fun trying to pick out words from the menus and dialogue from the video, but I couldn't understand much, although I did learn some new words by putting them into an online dictionary. I'll have to wait for the translation to be finished before I can play, but it will be fun to go back and try to play with the game's original language when I learn enough.
Again: Благодарю вас! You taught me about a new mod that I look forward to playing, and I also used your video to learn some new Russian vocabulary!
Also, apologies if my Russian is poor; I still only know some of the basics and not many words at the moment.
I've actually known this mod for quite a few months as its always been on the community content when I click fallout 2 but your video has convinced me to give it a try.
Once the translation is done, it'll be great to play!
The English translation is 70% percent done.
