I’ve been implementing your strategies with my 12 week old puppy and he is very calm and has good manners. We’ve helped him learn to wait to eat, wait to be called in through the door, he doesn’t jump up, is crate trained. It has made puppyhood so enjoyable for everyone. Thank you!!
For anyone reading this: I know that dog training can be difficult sometimes, but you're doing great. Keep up the good work, and your dog (and your own sanity) will thank you for it! ❤️💕
Because of Will we completed required training for our 15month old rescue in 1 week. We dedicated 1 hour a day to absolute training. But the training was ready consistent throughout the day. By week 2 I had our dog running hurdles and the A frame. Week 3 we included a weave, teeter, and a tunnel. Now we are working on better retrieval with a frisbee.
Hi Will. Thanks for taking us along on your adventures with Reggie. He's lovely. Reminds me of my 12 year old Boerboel who passed last December. Smart breeds, both.
We are hitting the 7 month mark with our Australian Shepherd and are just now reaching the point that our James doesn't have to go out to potty at all during the night. He has always been very good about doing business and immediately laying back down when we come in, but clearly had the biologic need to relieve himself. We are quite envious of Reggie's abilities! Thank you for another very inspirational video.
Hi, This is great. I have a German Shepherd dog, 1 year old and good to see one being trained at a different level. Also, if it does help, I have been feeding the different dog foods, my dog was sensitive to a number of dog foods and it has now been fixed.
I am really enjoying your videos with this little guy. This will be super helpful for newbie dog owners who just got a puppy and do not know what to do.
Your puppy training plan is great! Im going through the training journey with my 8 week old pup right now and following your videos makes the process a lot easier!! Thank you!
Since I really want to one day own a german shepherd if my living circumstance allow it I really love your videos! AND BOY!!! HAVE YOU SEEN THAT IMPULSE CONTROL WHEN HE DROPPED HIS STICK?! MARVELOUS!
We’ve got sit down, crate training down, unfortunately a few accidents. Our first week was amazing second week we as owners fell apart a little 😂 but we are bringing him back up from our mistakes
This is just fantastic progress with young Reggie! The problem is he is just SO adorable, i just zone out looking at that dear little face so have to keep going back! What a great dog he is going to be for you and your family, Will, have fun with the little guy!🥰🥰😍😍
My gsd has never been toilet trained. She naturally cried ,from the minute I got her, to go out to toilet. She's been great from the get go,also the puppy biting was easily sorted. The main thing I'm getting at the moment is problems with jumping up ,but this is only when she is let back in from the garden. Recall is getting good, but it's still a work in progress . She is doing OK, but training is ongoing
Love this video series ❤ we are getting our long awaited first dog in a few weeks and are sucking up your videos since our little fluffball was born. Also signed up to your puppy online course and want to take the best of it to our boy.
Thank you so much for these videos. I’m hoping to sign up to your perfect puppy course. We are getting our cocker pup on Friday and these videos are really helping us to get our selves prepared for his arrival. ❤
I got my dog a little over a year ago, when he was 8 weeks old. I watched SO many videos and thought I was doing everything right. My dog, Trumpet, is brilliant and picked up everything very quickly. Now, at 14 months old, he's a bit crazy!😜 I've had many dogs(a poodle, wolf hybrid , a pitbull and 3 border Collie/heeler mixes) and owned a dog sitting business for 9 years and I've never met a dog like Trumpet! He's a border Collie/ heeler/catahoula/pointer and is VERY stubborn. Full of love but bit me(my hand swelled up like a softball) when I tried to take a sock away from him. Most of the time he doesn't care if i take something from him but occasionally he snaps and theres no predicting it. Mostly, it's if he gets a tissue or paper towel. He won't even give it up for food. I've yet to find a video that helps with his particular issues. Any ideas?
Hello, thank you for your videos. I'm starting my research on what breed of dog I want next. Your videos have been quite helpful. I had to put down my sweet Chachi in Dec of last year. When I get my next dog, I want him/her to be a well-mannered dog, like Chachi was. Thank you again.
Love the weekly updates! I am about to get my German Shepard puppy too, and although following also other trainers (Micheal Ellis, Ivan Balabanov, Robert Cabral, Larry Krohn, Nate Schoemer among others) I really like your videos with Reginald
We brought home our new puppies on the exact same day as you! Gonna be following along with you and see if I can keep up. Things haven’t exactly gone to plan in that my partner and I got a puppy each, he was going to train one and I was going to train the other, then my partner got offered a new job the day after we got them home so he is out from 10am until 10pm, 5 days a week. So I’m essentially raising them both 😅 I am exhausted! Crate training isn’t perfect but getting there and unfortunately they didn’t have their vaccines yet when we got them so I’m limited on toilet training for now but obedience and lead training is going well. Would be great to see a video about puppies fighting too roughly as that’s something I’m struggling with.
Wow so impressive Reggie! I would love to see more explanation of how you've already made so much progress with the place concept - if he tries to leave the place are you putting him back onto it and rewarding? Or how does that look?
I’d love to see a video on your clicker training. I’m sure it’s not rocket science and is changing out one cue for another but would still be interested in hearing more about why you have switched.
Will, I am perhaps remiss in not digging deeper into your videos to answer the following question; But how precisely do you determine which puppy in a litter is most suitable for you? What is your method and what are your metrics for determining which will become the next “Perfect Puppy?” In addition, if there is not an obvious candidate in a litter, should one walk away?
Loving all your videos. Has helped me massively with training our new 8 week old Dachshund. Would you recommend when training night to routine to not feed. Our sleep schedule at the moment is crate at 9.30/10pm sleep until about 1/1.30am toilet opportunity sleep until 5am when he wakes at 5am he seem to be hungry so I am using that as a training opportunity. Is this a wise idea to feed that early? Would love a Q&A video about night to routine. Thanks your videos are amazing
How about showing us the conditioning with the clicker? When are you updating your perfect puppy course with more details with Reggie? I bought the course thinking it was going to be more detail with him and it isn't from what I can see.
Hey. Just wondering where I can watch the Reggie training videos. Are they in the perfect puppy course? I know the vlog is but I can’t seem to find the videos of the clicker and crate training of Reggie.
Has anyone been able to find the VLOGs on the Perfect Puppy course? Wondering if they've not been uploaded yet, or if I'm just looking in the wrong place.
We picked up our show cocker spaniel puppy a week ago. We’re getting on really well with some aspects of training - she knows her name, goes to the toilet in the garden, sleeps through the night and knows the sit command (nearly there with stay and down), but she will not settle unless she’s in her crate with the door shut. We have started place training on her bed out of the crate but even then she only settles for a minute max and then tries to chew her bed. Do you have any advice for getting her to settle in the crate with the door open or on her bed?
Hi Will, we are due to collect our new pup in December. I really like the impact crates but they are out of our budget. Can you recommend any other crates that aren't the standard wire kind? Appreciate you may not be able to due to your affiliation.
I think potty training is good and a little training but allowing him tobe a puppy and his natural personality and confidence to burden first and enjoy the overbearing puppyness before this full on training to be the perfect dog, like we are perfect humans! I think hard training maybe start when they are a few months probably four months old. I’m imagine leaving it to this period won’t give you a different less disciplined dog than those trained earlier but you’d enjoy the puppy wanting to be all over you with their cuteness longer. I’d like that.😊
@@11kwright You're assuming by training the dog is punished. This shouldn't happen, unless absolutely necessary, until MUCH later in the process. What you want to do is start early in a fun, enjoyable way, so they learn what to do instead of a bunch of shit you have to get them to unlearn later (which is extremely difficult in a lot of cases without aversives.) They'll grow up more confident if they at least understand your communication system and have some idea of what you want from them. If you stick with positive reinforcement (like treats) whenever possible, it improves your relationship. Bare minimum, teach them your markers, how to lure (unless you are using shaping,) and that they get their attention with four on the floor so you're not creating a jumping habit. Along with your aforementioned potty training. But none of this needs to be forceful or keep the puppy from "being a puppy" and enjoying life. These sessions are meant to be short and enjoyable for the puppy.
I literally picked up my jack russell puppy 2 days ago. ooooooooh my word, you lot make it look easy! Some bits ive found easy, some are hard. Im hoping i can get more on top of manners and im hoping i can convince her to go in her crate of her own free will (shes fantastic in it, she doesnt cry or anything) The only thing im struggling with is that i take her out for toilet and after a (sometimes fair bit) bit of hassle she goes but sometimes when i bring her back in she starts acting out maybe a few minutes and doing what i presume is kind of anxiety weeing. its only like a drop or two and ive started to catch her before she does it coz ive learn her signs but im just not sure what to do to nip that in the bud i take her out longer outside but she starts basically backflipping on the lead trying to get at stuff, she doesnt listen to the active interruption either which is annoying (for biting etc i get up and ignore her and she stops then i reward her after shes calmed down but yeah, sorry for the long rant, first time puppy owner and its tricky!
When Zak George and his wife were raising their small rescue dog, Veronica, there was plenty of that! In fact he said he'd never come across such separation anxiety before in a pup (overnight crying). Maybe check out his channel and see how he overcame that?

Reggie just hanging out on his bed rolling around and lying on his back was exactly what I needed to see today
Yes please to weekly updates. Cheers to Reggie 🐾😇

I would love a short video on How/why you chose the breeder you did and what sort of questions are good to ask when looking for a breeder/new puppy!?
Reggie is adorable!
Loving seeing Reggie’s progress, he’s adorabl
Hi Will. Thanks for taking us along on your adventures with Reggie. He's lovely. Reminds me of my 12 year old Boerboel who passed last December. Smart breeds, both.
Reggie is a gorgeous puppy, so happy you're sharing your adventures with us. Can't wait to see him grow up into a perfect gentleman.
It's always a pleasure to watch Will's videos. He gives us the right direction to train our dogs from day one!
Absolutely wonderful!! I get my Miniature Schnauzer puppy tomorrow and I am excited!! Thank you for sharing this with us!!!

Oh wow, I love that place bed! Anyone know which place bed that is? Does it have a special cover?
I'm loving these weekly updates. Your wee pup is adorable. It is going to be amazing to watch him grow up.
brilliant. i genuinely didn't realise puppies could be like this

Brilliant! Love watching you with dogs!
Loved the video will definitly buy the puppy coarse when I get my puppy this spring.
We’ve got sit down, crate training down, unfortunately a few accidents. Our first week was amazing second week we as owners fell apart a little 😂 but we are bringing him back up from our mistakes

Can you put all the videos of Reggie in a playlist so I can binge watch them all
Over time
He is so gorgeous. I’m getting my little girl in three weeks.
For those outside of the UK, "Chuffed to bits" means "really, really pleased" 😊
Love this video - please cont the weekly updates
What a good boy!
Thank you for all of your information!

How about showing us the conditioning with the clicker? When are you updating your perfect puppy course with more details with Reggie? I bought the course thinking it was going to be more detail with him and it isn't from what I can see.
Signed up for the perfect puppy course and finding it very useful but where can I access the Regie Vlogs?
Fabulous
Can you use this structure for an 3 year old dog? Back to basics kind of thing?
Hey. Just wondering where I can watch the Reggie training videos. Are they in the perfect puppy course? I know the vlog is but I can’t seem to find the videos of the clicker and crate training of Reggie.
How do Sully and Puppy like him?
Has anyone been able to find the VLOGs on the Perfect Puppy course? Wondering if they've not been uploaded yet, or if I'm just looking in the wrong place.
I didn't see training on the thumbnail so i was wondering why you were crushing your puppy lol

How to nip puppy bitting in the bud ? U should tell few things
Are the ww2 clickers available through retail?
i'm afraid i'd botch training such a sweet pup completely and instead just spoil the cr*p out of him 😍
Sleeping 7-8 hours per night in the first night is amazing
Hi Will, we are due to collect our new pup in December. I really like the impact crates but they are out of our budget. Can you recommend any other crates that aren't the standard wire kind? Appreciate you may not be able to due to your affiliation.
WHY NOT BUILD A WOODEN BOX THAT THE WIRE CRATE COULD SIT INSIDE OF
Hi will can you please tell me how to stop my 9 week old puppy from biting my 9 mouth old puppy and crying in her crate she cries all the time
Did you say Ilene has passed away? Feels like you just got her such a shame
I got a new puppy. -CRONK
I don’t want training to crush my puppy
Done correctly, it won't. It'll give him more freedom, and more joy because he'll know your communication and what you expect from him.
I think potty training is good and a little training but allowing him tobe a puppy and his natural personality and confidence to burden first and enjoy the overbearing puppyness before this full on training to be the perfect dog, like we are perfect humans! 😂😂 don’t worry I got the joke…. For others - the thumbnail could be taken as literally crushing your puppy

I never feel any vid covers the pooping, peeing, bitey, whiny chaotic reality of a puppy.
I think what Will is showing us is that it doesn't HAVE to be that kind of 'reality' if we follow what he talks about / displays.
