This mon is the destroyer of stall and lele. If they ban it Lele will absolutely run rampant

Even though it is a very annoying Pokémon to deal with (especially protect + leftovers), it has a lot of counterplay to it. So no, I don't think it's banworthy.

Melmetal is broken it's a tank with spammable power and Amazing durabikity but wasn't banned while there is often a ban compulsion.

This whole generation has stupidly overpowered breakers lele, weavile, drag apult,and Melmetal albeit it checks these mons (assault vest especially) and adds a ton of offensive utility teams. I've only started playing SS OU in recent months and it's very difficult for teams to handle all of the potential threats, there's so many 'patchwork teams' that have a single mon that can switch in to these mons (and others) that can easily overwhelmed with the correct coverage/team support & just repeated attacks. On the contray, I think they're necessary for helping the meta not stagnate into stall/balance dominance as they're some of the key mons for breaking fatter teams. I mostly believe the state of the meta to be a symptom of dex cuts & stupid power creep leaving the meta to feel hollow and not as balanced as previous generations. I'm not for banning melmetal or any of the other breakers, however I believe heavy duty boots should be outright banned since I consider it very uncompetitive since it negates the punishment of switching and makes certain pokemom that should be punished more difficult to deal with I.e volc, weavile, zapdos, tornadus

Also melmetal is terrible in ubers
for me corvinight/toxapex/ferrothorn are dishusting pokemons to play against. maybe ferrothorn even more as its a good setter resists so many things immune to toxic(same as the rest but) has leech seed spike stealth rock advantage preventing switch ins and sticky barbs? dam also rocky helmet sticky barbs is just super annoying to play against. Not using OU pokemons against it is a doom path. Maybe if you setup and you can withstand a possible gyro ball and you might have a chance yet your options are limited since ferro player have heatran/toxa on their team and fire type moves are doomed against it. Ive found out choice band poltergeist dusknoir can be a threat and its 2-hit KO or 3 hit depending on leftovers or def/spef investement of ferro

Melmetal is fine. Has counters and can be taken down dont forget there is will'o wisp on the game and its a pretty slow pokemon to begin with, and it using a physical moveset not a stall ass thingy
It annoys me how it's nearly gen 9 and now they're deciding to suspect test melmetal. It's also annoying to see a wallbreaker being suspect tested over broken toxapex who just stays in scalding and knocking off half of your team racking up spikes and stealth rock damage.

@@theonetheycallheadspace2899 melmetal has its counters, especially the choice band set. Leftovers sets or AV sets are definitely more annoying but I still think pex is more van worthy. Neither are broken imo but if you ban pex, now hyper offense or balanced teams will become more common, ban metal and now stall will rise. I'd rather a metagame be faster paced than taking 20 years to kill 1 toxapex let alone the other team members.
It might just sit there but it has recover to stall you out of your PP, it gets toxic and t spikes for pressure, it gets haze to stop you from killing it, it gets knock off and scald two of the arguably best moves in competitive for their utility. It doesn't just sit there, might seem so at first glance but with its ability too it can stall out PP, knock off items and inflict status on your whole team

Agreed, would rather see Pex being suspect tested instead of Mel. Though I think blunder's video played a big role in this suspect. I don't think it would be even taking place at all if it wasn't for his vid.
