- Our boy Boothill has been treated badly by Hoyoverse, having much less lore deepening despite his tragic backstory. Honkai Star Rail keeps being a pretty entertaining game character-wise, but treating some of these characters like this surely doesn't help.

i would like to point out that Boothill's story is still ongoing, along with Aventurine's. we will most likely get more trailers relating to the two as we learn more about Oswaldo
I honestly really hope so as I really like him, but still not getting a myriad celestia on release already is a big distinction from the majority of the cast that just gets one from the get go
@@itssytho Tingyun is my favorite character and was the reason I started this game, and she got Thanos snapped almost immediately before we even got to know her or hell even meet the real one! I was quite upset about that and worried they'll never do a follow up on what truly happened to her.
But now leaks have confirmed she is coming back and now we're gonna get a new story focused on her in version 2.6 or 2.7!
Point is, don't be too upset about him getting a shafted a little. They're probably cooking up a story with him further down the line. This is just apparently how the Honkai series does its story telling. He'll get his time to shine, especially since he's got something relating to the IPC, who might as well be one the major antagonist of the story.
The question is, when? 😭 Iw as so disappointed this arc wasn't continued in 2.3
@@midnight.blue42 the Honkai writes like to mislead and make people wait, but this actually ends up making the story better due to having more time to cook, so i'd say not having it immidiately after is a good thing
I felt bad about Boothill and Argenti and how they were treated…. But take a look at Jiaoqiu, he is constantly cropped out of his own debut banner… 💀
Also the story Chadwick and Boothill are linked. That story on Penacony hit me quite hard :( Boothill story was way more interesting than Firefly… as interesting as she was they didn’t give us much story other than random things were we don’t learn much more about ourselves or her.
Jiaoqiu got absolutely obliterated 💀 nerfed to the ground without even his ability to heal despite that being everything he does in the lore, and being barely considered in his version's main event by a character that will be released more than a month after. It's such a shame considering how people hyped him up when he first got revealed
@@itssythoso sad…. But at lease he showed up right away got a lot of screen time and is highly relevant to the story so far. Hopefully story wise the next patch is not being used for “look how cool FeiXiao is” even though I really like her and will pull for her but I’m hoping they would show Jiaoqiu’s cunning side. I might be asking too much haha. Still pulling for him they don’t nerf his hot pot Ult and fluffy tail.
@geckogekko I have a feeling they'll show him very little during feixiao's version, but considering the leaks we may see the more evil side of him that's showed in the ult. Tho I absolutely can't pull for him when there's Black Swan Robin and Lingsha on the line 🙏
@@itssytho they certainly know how to wring their fans dry! Triple reruns I’m hearing… yikes!! His trailer gives me major Hannibal vibes, I hope they stick with that and we have a very interesting character. Good luck on your pulls!! Maybe they will have reruns a lot so we don’t get too much FOMO when a banner skips us.
@geckogekko If I'm not wrong robin didn't take much for a rerun, while I can't say the same for Black Swan and silverwolf, my gamer girl ain't coming back 😭 but I hope I'll get at least 2 of the 3 chars I want, expect guides about them soon!
i absolutely agree, male characters like boothill and argenti got the short end of the stick. he had so much potential but hoyo just ignored that fella. what's even point of releasing him when you're going to release a far better dps right in the next banner. all of his best part of his stories story just happened off screen while ff is hanging around with the tb for absolutely no reason half the time
I wouldn't say Firefly is FAR better, Boothill is stil extremely strong
@@midnight.blue42 extremely strong against single target yeah, firefly in overall is much much better. i have e2 boothill with his sig lc on one account and on another i have firefly e0s0 and for endgame contents like moc, or pf firefly is leagues above. even in apocalyptic shadow firefly does much better (unless you don't have her proper team comp, its the other way around)
Argenti actually got a decent amount of showtime through the story which makes me think he’s gonna have a bigger part in the story eventually
@@hayderade9852 lol agreed, he had well treatment l in penacony but the lack of voice the entire time pissed me off,and god i hope he does because there's a lot of things about him that doesn't make sense. his kit is mediocre tho, great in pure fiction but overall its a hassle to get his ult and acheron is much better. and they also didn't promote him much, similar to boothill he didn't get any myriad celestia trailer.
At least Boothill has an entire planet that is where he is introduced. Argenti debut at the train and then left, he doesnt even have a screentime with Boothill in the penacony, it was just a line that Argenti saved Boothill

Nah this is real, hoyo 1000% has favorites and it’s not even close, and majority of said favorites seem to be female too? Like the last time a male character got a myriad celestia trailer was DAN HENG LMAOO
And the argument that “oh but CN doesn’t like males as much” is total BS, Blade outsold Kafka in CN on their launch, and in a massive CN favorites poll, top 1 was Jing Yuan AND among the top 8 that were shown FIVE were males (JY, Aven, DHIL, blade and Argenti), it is just that lately Hoyo will sort of set up the male characters (thats when they even bother making them) to not sell THAT well, like Aven despite his popularity is a sustain and not many will whale for a sustain because why would you? He does his job at E0, Boothill didn’t have any early strong bait eidolons + they put him right before a character THEY themselves hyped way the hell up, again set up to fail, and lastly JQ… oh man, like what 5 total nerfs in beta? He will still see use because he’s good with a popular unit Acheron, but again his kit is so all over the place to begin with.
My last point is this: I feel from a marketing standpoint, a character you know will sell less for any reason, should have more marketing to back them up, not the other way around. That goes for any product any company wants to sell tbh. Like for example in my country, Apple has 0 marketing, because EVERYONE uses iPhone anyways so why bother marketing it? Idk what is it with hoyo just helping the already popular units even more.
Tl;dr: hoyo has shifted to favoring females overall as of late.
I have no idea why they'd do that if the CN loved all of these male characters so much, and I forgot to say that Argenti didn't get a myriad celestia either, and I also find very stupid how much they had to hype up for firefly considering she was always meant to be hsr's golden child, immediately from the heroine girl behaviour and the fanservice with the attention towards the mc that everyone likes, it felt very forced from the start and they could've spared some of the budget to treat better some characters that can still be very relevant in the story.
@@itssytho yet people will still parrot the same excuse to defend this behavior of “males sell worse than females and hoyo is a business” which first half of this sentence has been disproven, other factors determine that other than just gender, like story and place in meta, but lets assume its true, there are people out there and whales who are interested in male characters more or even ONLY males, and now since hoyo is basically treating them like 2nd class customer, they are not gonna pay anything at all, so you went from low sales to no sales from those people, so still an extremely stupid decision if we assume its true.
Also another point that pisses me off is that HSR actually started pretty decently balanced (yeah it wasnt 50/50 of course) with the 5 star male to female ratio, but after 2.0 that was thrown out the window basically. So this bait and switch was also pretty wack.
@@itssytho Argenti did actually have a new breed of rose created and named "Argenti" that Hoyo worked with a flower breeder to make, so they did do something special for him, but it is not well known and was not fully part of their marketing.
Of course they have favorites, this is a fucking game with imaginary characters on an imaginary world. Why this is surprising for everyone? lmao
You need to be so shallow minded to not understand when you write something you'll end up liking certain characters more than others.
Hoyo never shifted anything, because they are always like that. It not something new for them, and you can see this pretty clearly on story development on any of their games.
And this doesn't work only just for women. As for example, people on 3rd loves Fu Hua, but Hoyo don't give a shit for her. You guys real need to deal with the fact that they will always give more importance to characters they like than what people want, is that simple.

They really need to do trailblaze continuace about him and Aventurine, because of the cutscene at the end of 2.2. I was REALLY disappointed it wasn't continued at all in 2.3. My gosh... I hope Boothill won't end up like Luocha...

My two favorite characters, Argenti and Boothill, definitely need more story to be released. It’s still ongoing, but I do hope we get more of their lore soon or in the same planet (because I want to witness both of my fav homies on my screen at once)
@FlamboyantlyNecoArc Also don't forget the poor EN voice acting being butchered, first by Argenti never talking for so many version until he got the voice actor replaced by such a different one, but something tells me eventually we'll see more of Argenti, at least that's what I hope
Actually for me it will spark huge Controversy given that when boothill was released it was the worst part of the war in gaza if they put a myriad celestial given that it centered around bombs so it quite a bad move for hoyo for making it
Don't worry, they live on real world not twitter.
World conflicts are always happening, the ones you guys see is just the minimum that people pretend to care so they can elevate their twitter moral status. If real people, twitter users obviously not included, would stop creating things because world conflicts, nothing would be released anymore.
Also don't forget they released a trailer of him exploding an IPC airship in that same time frame.
Tbh I'd be surprised if Hoyoverse was aware of Gaza's existence. They're too rich to care about anything.

I like the video but the audio mixing is a little rough with the music being really loud in comparison to your own voice

I hope his story continues. His amazing DPS ability was definitely hampered by the relic set revamp too. So far they did Boothill so dirty compared to all the girls. Also they did Jiaoqiu dirty too, he is barely visible on his own debut banner. Correct me if I’m wrong I don’t think Topaz got a Myraid Celestia too?

Boothill on penacony is literally just a filler for him, a prologue, the main dish still yet to be revealed, if hoyo decide to jam pack the arc with his complete backstory alongside Acheron, Robin, Firefly, and the watchmaker it will be a fkn mess, it's not his time to shine, stop making this clickbait kind of video and attracting negative people with that beta mindset, wait when Schneider finally appear, there's a chance a new animation/trailer or even a cutscene of him in the story will drop and finally the cowboy take the spotlight,
See Blade? his beef with Danheng isn't over, see Welt over there? that grandpa have a huge redflag over him since the reason he's aboard the Train is to make sure Himeko safe, no matter the cost even his own life, let Hoyo cook, and if in the future they wasted such gold opportunity only then feel free to get malding
I get that you very well could be right, but for now I see that he got absolutely no recognition, while I'm sure Welt will be very important as he is alongside Himeko the most important members of the express, and Blade from the start was very important lorewise, and the one who made Dan Heng stop his act, they were both very important from the beginning while I can't say the same for Boothill, if in the future his lore will be deepened I'd love to see that, but for now I judge what I'm seeing
If that's the case, then why don't they just release Boothill's banner later when he becomes one of the main characters in the story? Why released his banner so early when he's just a filler character in Penacony story? I think it would be better if they release his banner when he actually becomes one of the main characters in the story, because he's actually relevant to said story. Not just a filler.
I also have the same problem with Jade and her banner.

The favorite is the Honkai serie. GGZ and Honkai Impact are female only. Even the genderbending MC of Part 2 of Hi3rd is only female in canon, the male is just for those that want to play one guy, because CN will riot if they add males to their games. Also females sell better that will always be a fact. Aside from one of the rare Hi3rd Male in HSR: Welt Yang who's not limited or Void Archives, the future Otto apocalypse lookalike that came with Welt.
Males can outsold the female but it really needs to be a special case. I will take FGO for example, women will always outsold the males aside from some peculiar gigachad, super cool male guys such as Charlemagnes that had his own Fate game, Oberon that had a superb story in the best story arc or all the game (as well as being the pivotal unit of the whole game for support and burst dmg which helps a lot as he created himself a whole new meta). It's really hard for males to be liked. They can be counted on a hand's fingers.
It doesn't help boothill that he keeps swearing even in a comical way + being very american. We all know that USA & China don't have the greatest relationship
Something that I don't like about him is that all the swears being censored sound cringy really fast when he almost always says them, I mean I get that is the best they could allow and it's kinda funny like in the trailer, but still I guess the most sold male characters have to be a big deal such as IL or Jin Yuan
