    Great vid Ron , I put lime down in early April and the soil tests were quite good after. I will be testing again next week to see if anything else is needed & this added info will very be helpful , def learned some new stuff in this vid. I do not expect much change with my soil given we have not had much rain up here this season but always best to keep checking. Great info and content as usual Ron.

    • @AlexBB77

      @@RonHenry yeah , the rain typically moves that PH for me given we have fairly acidic rain up here and we have not gotten much this season. But never know , I always like to check it a few times per season and the various lawn chemicals could probably affect the level as well.

    Ron I was wondering if you considered doing a comparison vid of the battery sprayers you have used and showing the routine maintenance to keep them working best. I have the 4 gallon Sprayers Plus one myself but definitely curious about other options , it does the job but I think mine may have a defective battery because it never held a charge or worked as long as many purport. Just wondering if you would ever do such a vid ? Keep up the great content.

    • @RonHenry
      @RonHenry  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a good idea Manchester 777. I'll have to put some thought into how something like that can be made interesting to watch. Depending on the level of use, batteries do have to be replaced occasionally. The battery in my Flowzone Typhoon 2 has been going strong for a while but I imagine I'll likely have to replace it in a year or 2 once it stops holding a good charge. Outside of that, I make it a point to rinse the spreader out after using it. Most of the products I spray don't quickly form deposits but it's still a good idea. Appreciate you watching.

    • @Manchester77OT
      @Manchester77OT 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RonHenry thanks for the info , I do have to replace the battery it seems ; mine never held the best charge or worked nearly long as other people have said with theirs so may have been defective from the off. If you could figure a way to do a sprayer vid to your liking i would def watch. I am curious about the pros and cons of the ones you used , which you would recommend and just going over the maintenance. Especially since I do not see much content about the sprayers themselves or their upkeep.

    • @RonHenry

      @Manchester77OT 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RonHenry nice , i might be in the market for one of those given the experience I have had with mine. I would def watch a vid comparing those and the maintenance. • @RonHenry

    As usual, nice job Ron. Additionally, I would point out that pH adjustment with lime can be a slow process (months ???) and is not permanent. Reapplications may be required every couple of years based on subsequent soil tests. I'd also suggest folks wear dust masks as the dust can aggravate respiratory systems. Now, about that drink...

    • @RonHenry
      @RonHenry  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All great points Richard; especially about the dust mask. I saw a movement in my pH from an application made in Feb, so planned to do this one to further move levels in the right direction. I'll test again in the fall and see where things are. Appreciate you chiming in sir!

      Hahahaha. That's a good one James.

  • @smk791
    @smk791 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thats hilarious Ron! You had lime fruit when talking about limestone. Ironically the lime fruit has strong acid which would have the exact opposite effect on pH compared to the calcium and magnesium carbonate in limestone.

    • @RonHenry
      @RonHenry  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching SMK. I wanted to have a fun prop and a pile of limestone isn't nearly as interesting. Not to mention that it wouldn't work well in a margarita. 😂 So even though the video is about raising pH, the astute viewer would know it was really a 2 in 1. 😎 3 in 1 if you count the drink.

    • @RonHenry

      Hi Tim D. I would make it a point to not use fertilizers that contain large amounts of phosphorus in them. If you want to lower it, the easiest way is to start bagging your clippings. I wouldn't do that though. I'd just not add anymore phosphorus to your lawn.
