    What they forgot to tell you about the fox domestication program is that not only did they selectively breed foxes based on which ones were friendliest toward humans, they also bred the ones that were least friendly to humans. One side turned out foxes like puppies, while the other turned out foxes that - if they even glanced at a human - would actually hurt themselves against the side of their cages attempting to satiate their everlasting lust for the destruction of all humanity.

      @@mattb2583 They were breeding the foxes for fur. They lived in cages. It wasn't possible to maul anyone. Figuring out if they could be bred for being docile or aggressive was just a side project for fur farmers since they already had generations of foxes to use in an experiment.

      Oh no that's horrible! If they were breeding them for fur, why not just...not change the personality at all? I wouldn't make something so angry that it HURTS ITSELF if it even looks at you! :(

    Peat is a watery, quicksand-density topsoil that occurs in waterlogged, swampy areas. It's mostly made of dead plant-matter, and certain mosses and other plants grow exclusively in peat-soil.

    • @sassyghost_8
      @sassyghost_8 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      It’s also commonly used as a fire starter in some places as it’s highly flammable.

    • @beneficent2557

      For Peat's sake! How could you do that?

    • @Whitewingdevil
      @Whitewingdevil ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Specifically peat is produced in peat bogs over a long period of time, the sphagnum moss in Britain is a keystone species, it creates an environment where it can thrive, but that environment kills the bacteria that would normally break down dead plant matter. Because it hasn't decayed, it is a naturally occurring fuel source that was commonly used for millennia there, it's basically like coal, but stinkier and needs to be thoroughly dried.

    Dogs actually aren't carnivores; they're omnivores, which is why you can safely feed pet dogs things like green beans, corn, carrots, etc. without causing digestive issues. If you tried that with a cat, they'd quickly start having issues due to being carnivores.

      Granted, there's still some plant-based things (most infamously grapes) that are still EXTREMELY deadly to dogs, but yeah you're not wrong. Of course, a dog would **probably** go for good ol' meat first if given the choice, but most wouldn't turn down basically anything they saw a human eating.

    Apparently foxes are also super musky, and the smell sticks to skin & clothes. Not sure if this is true, bur I've read some fox rescue orgs will not adopt out domestic foxes until after the applicant takes home some bottles of fox pee & leaves them opened/uncorked in their home for a few days, as a "lite" version of fox musk, to make sure the potential adopter is fully aware of what they are committing to.

    strep ain't no joke...I've had it a few times before and one time I got it back to back when I was in middle school...I had meds and they worked...but then I got it again like 2 days AFTER I got over the first case and so they doubled the dosage of my meds, also peat is a type of moss just FYI. As for foxes I was lucky enough to see a grey fox in like...late June while I was going in the evening to check my mail, it was scrounging around some tall foliage on my property looking for food...which considering the squirrels, birds, wild rabbits, oak trees and the like around where I live...good chance of finding something. Got me a trail cam I'm gonna put up to see what else besides that fox and the deer I KNOW live in the woods next to my house wander through at night...probably some raccoons and coyotes.....please dear lord don't let there be images of a black bear on that thing...the woods next to my house have deer and other small prey animals and the fact that they HAVE been seen in areas less than 20 minutes from where I live mean it's not a 0% chance...I don't wanna deal with them if they get hungry enough to try and break in.

    Foxes are one of my favorite animals (I really like red and purple animals)... but they're loud and stinky and they eat everything. Plus, they are dead up domesticating themselves to access more food. 😅
    Now... I haven't spotted foxes in my yard, but I'm having a deer problem. They be grazing my food plants. 🥲
    Edit: Am I 69th liker of video? 😮

    • @fburnsDubstepEnderFox
      @fburnsDubstepEnderFox ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sadtitties222There's a lot of purple animals, most are birds or bugs... for example, the purple coronet. It's not a 100% purple bird, but it's purple enough for me to adore it. There's the violet checkered beetle and the iridescent violet springtail to name a couple of insects.
      There's also a wide variety of sea life that dons the royal color swatch... like the ochre sea star if you like star fish.
      The weird thing is there are invertebrates, birds, lizards, fish, etc. that come in purple, but no mammals are purple. Maybe purple just isn't good camouflage for mammals?

There are probably foxes where i live now too but i haven't seen or heard of any nearby. Though i guess there were also coyotes but i have never seen one. And at least one time a polar bear... My mum was in hospital at the time and when the doc called me to chat and I had no voice to chat, he was like, well your mum just tested positive for covid so you likely caught that and I was like 😦 I dont have the numbers of the people I went to the concert with!!
