  • I was working on the Maggot Brain Part II tutorial video and thought it would be good to have a practice backing track.

    Hey Buddies
    I've created this Patreon page to help with the production of my guitar tutorial videos. I'm not planning to change what I already do and I will continue to respond to requests regardless of someone being a contributor or not. I have therefore set the patron amount at the lowest level of just $1 for those who wish to show their appreciation and to help with the purchase of strings, picks, music paper, sharpie pens, hard drives and cups of tea.

    This is so cool! Maggot Brain is such a dreamy track. I was just sitting and pecking out the notes to make my own backing track... now I can focus on the dreamy stuff! Thanks man.

      Great for you bro, but I feel with this track you have to convey your own emotions through the instrument, not strictly follow what Eddie Hazel's playing.

      I love funkadelic, parliament and parliament funkadelic, but I have to say, George treated his band members quite horribly. It gives me mixed feelings about supporting the music.

    guys s.o.s
    i know some theory. I can understand some stuff not to advanced tho. hear me out and if you can get me out of this hole :P . So the tonic is Em one could play in Em and G major all the way. Also one could play on chords changes ( Em,D,Bm,C scales ). And observing my jam if i drive right in to Bm i could be in that enviroment for some time for intresting sounds. What else could one do ? the concept of modes is somewhat clear on my head i dont hear them so much when i play em but i havent given much time to it but F#dorian works as well ( i think )... what else could one do ?

    I’m new to improvising, I typically just look up tabs and play along to backing tracks. Does anyone have a recommendation on how to get started playing free form to something like this? I love this song so much and would love to be able to sit back and just play something in tune and relax

    • @Kevin22_11
      @Kevin22_11 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The last sentence is me right now🌠 i'd say listen to the theme(in this case its the first 5 somewhat notes), lets see if you can play the main riff on as many places on the neck as possible, start with the lowest one on the neck and build up, then try variations :) hope that wil spark some fun, enjoy.

    • @Kevin22_11
      @Kevin22_11 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Put on a lot of delay, reverb and maybe flanger effects btw :) and the root note is lovely to repeat in this one.

    I'm jamming along with a buchla music easel and wanted to put a jam online, would it be ok if I use this as a backing track? I would give credit and link to this video. No money would be made with it, would you consider giving permission?
