Loved this girl, I agree about particular plant names adding to the allure of the plant. I mean if the Spiritus Sancti was named Philodendron lentil, well… it just wouldn’t have the same allure and mystique. Loved how you brought up the Brontosaurus, one of my personal favorite dinosaurs. I appreciate your nerdiness, also Pluto will always be a planet to me, I don’t care what anyone says.

Super interesting! I love learning the history of our favorite plants.
Honestly, everytime the scientific community clashes with a hobby community it kind of puts things into perspective for me about human nature. We have such a need to categorize everything and set things into neat little boxes, that we forget that nature just isn't that way. Plants don't care what people call them, they're just tryna live their best lives and grow. We could learn a few things from them 😅
Your analysis was extremely well thought out! I can really tell you are passionate about what you are sharing :)

Philodendron Spirits Sancti is called so because it originates from the State of Espírito Santo in Brasil and both mean "Holy Spirit"

Such a very very interesting story and video! And in fact I just recently ordered this plant this weekend and I can’t wait to receive it! Another famous plant is the El Choco Red and I recently learned that the name of it will become Philodendron Rubrijuvinelum really soon.

I think no matter what name this plant has it would be still highly sought after due to the beautiful pink/red new growth…
I mean I don’t care what the name of the plant is when it looks as beautiful as it does!!

Put it in perlite… that’s basically all you have to do. They are not difficult plants. They’ll tolerate a lot.

the lithogragh has pink petioles for every leaf, the lynamii only shows pink for the newest leaf.

Such an interesting video. Imagine trying to keep your plant collection alive while fleeing a world war. All those beautiful collections just left to wither. War sucks.

I don’t know the exchange rate from USD but I think that’s probably a steal for a big, established, acclimated plant in good condition.

Nothing funny about the 2 wars in Europe. For the plants, I know that millions of plants died of cold during these winters because it was no oil anymore to warm up all the botanical garden's tropical greenhouses (botanical gardens).
