Info:
Guardians of the Galaxy was Tyler Bates' most demanding score. Director James Gunn wanted something "dramatic and thematic". In addition to keeping up with the evolving vision of the film, Bates was asked to write huge chunks of the score so it could be played on set during the shoot.
"During action scenes and huge dramatic moments we blare the score on set so that the cast, crew, and camera can move in harmony with the music," said Gunn.
The main theme is one of the many cues that have more than 500 tracks of audio. Bates claimed that many orchestral passages are doubled and tripled instrumentation. He calls his work on it a space rock opera.
The fact that this was used for a grand total of 4 seconds in volume 3 is a crime

@@israelhernandez5431I agree somewhat. I think Vol. 3 is the weakest in the trilogy. The character writing was sloppy imo. The plot was forced, specifically anything involving Adam Warlock or the flesh space station. The choop choop kids and the animals in cages and the robotic friends of Rocket were there to manipulate the audience's emotions. Cute kids and animals always works to soften the critic in our hearts. Drax never fully became a solid character because James Gunn and the various writers over the years wanting him as comic relief instead of a father overcoming the loss of his family. Mantis finally gets fleshed out as a good sister for Quill, which is cool, but I would've liked to have seen this version of her in Infinity War for a bit. Instead of revealing her being Quill's sister in a holiday special not everyone watched. Gamora finally acts like the fiercest woman in the galaxy, but why? The version of Gamora we see in Endgame is just a week younger version of the Gamora from Guardians 1. So why is she such a dick now? Daddy issues with Thanos? We don't know. The film doesn't tell us. Nebula really deserved more screen time. Star Lord seems like he hasn't matured all that much, he's still emotionally stunted, and I understand dealing with Ego, losing Yondu, losing Gamora, vanishing and coming back to reality, and meeting a "new" Gamora is insane... but I wish he had grown a little more. He deals with loss with music and alcohol and brash actions without planning. You would think after all this time something might change, but no. Rocket's backstory is great, but I would have liked to see glimpses of this in Vol. 2. When he was with Yondu. That way when he stops being a self destructive dick to his new friends out of fear, it makes more sense. In this one, it feels like a last minute revenge story against his maker. Also not enough current day Rocket Raccoon. Most of his scenes were baby Rocket.
Also, not a memorable score. And the worst soundtrack out of all 3. Poorly placed too might I add. I think only 3 of the 17 or so songs worked well with what was on screen.
I just watched GotG vol. 3. This feels so nostalgic.

It honestly rivals the avengers theme in how amazingly composed it is also anyone here after that heartfelt finale in volume 3? It was so nostalgic hearing this theme after so many years

Still remember how the entire community was skeptical and doubtful back when the first GOTG was announced. Now we have arguably one of the best CBM trilogies to date. So many memories, so much laughter, so many tears. A massive thank you to James Gunn and the entire team that brought these movies to life.

One of the best MCU themes, and perhaps most underrated. A missed oppurtunity that it wasn't used in either of their crossovers with the Avengers.
One of the best MCU movies as well.

This is hands down one of the best themes in the MCU, yet people still say that the MCU has no memorable themes. I find it ironic, though, that the Guardians are a team of anti-heroes (albeit very likable ones), yet they still have one of the most heroic themes in the MCU.

MCU is able to make a raccoon, a tree, an half-celestial, a bald tattooed alien and a green serial killer, the most eroic group of wierdos in the galaxy.

Unfortunately, Bates will not be doing 'Vol. 3' and did not work on Gunn's 'The Suicide Squad'.

Just saw vol3 what a perfect movie. Loved it to bits. It was very emotional. Only regret I have is that we barely heard this theme in the movie.

4:28 is something I could listen to over and over again. When he has the power stone, and they are all just glaring at Ronan. Like yeah, you are screwed. The lead in from that into the main theme is absolute perfection!
DC is very lucky to have Gunn leading their rebirth. He has the answers. Guardians of the Galaxy is the greatest comic book movie trilogy of all time, and one of the greatest trilogies period. They may be moving on now, but Gunn and the cast/team from the trilogy have forever left their mark on Marvel and cinema history. Simply a cut above the rest of the MCU. Excellence and excelsior!

Honestly after watching Vol. 3 I honestly think the Guardians are my favorite team in the MCU. They actually feel like a family more so than even the og Avengers.
The Avengers have always been a dysfunctional team tho. That's why they're so awesome . Despite the fact that they may hate each other's personalities they can put that aside and save the world when it needs saving.

Unfortunately, Marvel is notoriously bad at maintaining a consistent theme to represent their franchises, so this probably won't happen. Gotg2 will probably replace this theme with something totally different, just like how each Iron Man film has a completely different Iron Man theme.

I love this soundtrack!!! Gives you the friggin chills and makes you feel like you can hold any infinity stone with the support of your friends, withstand any crap obstacle life throws at ya, then you have someone yell out "You guys are so screwed now!" just like Banner.

It's one of mine too! I talk about it sometimes with my friends, trying to get them to watch the movie, but they're not really Marvel fans or just science-fi fans, sadly.

She thought it was good, but didn't think too much into it, me on the other hand, I wanted to go back in and watch it again. And I have the movie on my laptop as well. Had it since it came out on DVD. I love the MCU and the movies will ever get old

I started listening at 3:00 when my favourite esports team played what would turn out to be the last round of a CS:GO major, and the second drop timinged perfectly to when they won. I can't describe the feeling and I wish that everyone could experience that kind of emotion.
