I agree. It hits very well. However as good as this is in my opinion the original score fits better because the chord changes in "Portals" reflects the six different infinity stones, which are the real reason for the fight. This is such an intelligent merger of the characters' respective leitmotifs. The transitions are seamless and do not feel forced. I can understand Silvestri's reasoning for not doing so as he did not want the cue to sound 'too busy', but here you have shown that not only does it retain the weight of the scene, it, in fact, enhances it by making it feel more 'epic' by reprising the most heroic renditions of their motifs. Massive kudos to you. Well done!
I agree. If this was in the movie it would have been to much. But man! This video so so cool!! Honestly gave me goosebumps, same as this movie scene did orginally.
It would've been so much more meaningful and would represent how they all came together after being brought back. In theaters you would hear the start of a theme and everyone would get so excited to see that character return.
Silvestri himself suggested this but they shot the idea down, apparently thinking not all the heroes share the same amount screentime so it wouldn't seem fair. EXCEPT THEY PLAYED CAPTAIN MARVEL'S LOUSY THEME, A CHARACTER WITH THE LOWEST STAKES IN THE WHOLE STORY. SO THEY HAD NO EXCUSE!!!!

I liked it but in the movie the silence plays a huge part. The music only gradually becomes louder with each characters assembling together. It made the scene even more cool. It’s like the reemergence of hope that we thought we lost. Also it shows unity among characters. From being inferior to Thanos army to the point where we matched his army in terms of strength and quantity was awesome. So the music in the movie made so much sense. It’s like with each heros we were becoming stronger so the music supported it.
I went back and watched the original version after this comment and you made a really good point. The multi-theme version feels great after knowing the scene and reliving the excitement of the first viewing. But the slow growth of the original is so pivotal to that first time seeing the movie. Because you’re right, it really is the Assembling of the team, not just a sudden overwhelming entrance of characters fighting for attention (like the multi-theme is doing). I did love this new version but for overall experience, yeah the original is perfection.
Great way of putting it. The vibes in tht scene are unmatched to any other. Greatest scene in movie theater energy history. Ppl were crying cheering standing up and no one was mad about it. Everyone was just so happy to see this
I think a perfect balance would be the Portals theme with the idea on this one, both ideas are congruent, plus the scene could take much more time for the build up

I cannot believe I have only just now found this. This may be my new favorite thing to come out of End Game. I love Alan Silvestri, but I wish he would have done this.
The way they played Captain Marvel’s theme when she showed up was cool and made me wonder what it would be like if they did the same for the other heroes, and you did it perfectly! I’m glad the MCU has started using a theme for each character more often. Shame they didn’t used to do it as much, before. I still think Silvestri’s theme here flows better, but this sounds better than I thought it would.
@joewaters3896 And also (and more likely) because they REALLY wanted to make you like her, despite her being about as likeable as a degraded brick on the road.
*Captain America:* Play the superhero themes *Alan Silvestri:* All of them, my Lord? *Captain America:* They've all sworn to represent us, have they not? Now we will see what their music is worth. *Alan Silvestri:* Yes, my lord
I especially love how the Iron Man theme really hits the familiar notes as Pepper lands. It fulfills on the promise of that movie which was Tony designing the suits to be able to fit Pepper. To go from that, to not seeing her much at all in the films, to this moment with the score from that movie I mean you really did something here
How awesome is this? I love it, and it would have been a great choice. Although conceptually I really love what they did in the movie, in which only The Avengers End Game version theme is heard during the entire sequence because all of them are no longer individual characters but have all come together, assembled, because they are all The Avengers now and we only listen their theme. Amazing, right?
I find the Iron Man theme stands quite far out as in an honour to his character at the end of this film, feels like it was played a lot longer compared to other themes, which is just perfect in my eyes (and mostly ears)
It may not be "high art" (so sorry Scorsese) but AS art it was incredibly fulfilling to feel the hope and the power portrayed on screen, as a fan it was total fan service, and from a business aspect - this scene was the pay off to 22 movies over a DECADE. If you figure one person is worth a minimum of $20 a movie (either ticket or dvd) then you're looking at a per person investment of over $400. We each paid $400 to get THAT scene, and we got what we paid for.
I was fully expecting a funny disgusting hodgepodge of blaring themes, but this is actually so goated I got more chills from this fricking TH-cam video then the actual Avengers Endgame.
I guess they wanted the moment itself to be entirely its own thing. Feeling the relief Cap felt when the other heroes had not only come back from oblivion, but also that they had assembled their own armies to help with the cause. But this does feel like an awesome “role call” of sorts.
@cgl1966 Well, my guess it's cuz the themes were created by different artists so they would have to ask for yk rights to use them same reason why in different movies of the same characters they don't use the original theme or the theme that came before because it was made by a different person
You did a great job! I love it when a theme music is treated as an integral part of a character, and these themes were mostly forgotten/barely used after one movie. So it was nice to hear them. But TBH, Alan Silvestri's original music in this scene is already the best music moment of the entire MCU.
Thor arriving in Wakanda in Infinity War is also pretty amazing, and I don't think can be improved. I agree that Portals is amazing but the idea of cohesively fitting together all the themes is brilliant, and I wish they had done it in the movie. At least, I wish I could hear the same orchestra do both versions so I could compare.
@@AmadeusFandubs No Way Home also referenced Hans Zimmer and the Magnificent Six (TASM2) for Electro and James Horner (TASM) for WebbVerse Spider-Man. As much as I love the Zimmer&M6 Spider-Man theme, it would have been too energetic and confidently heroic (without serious rearrangement) to fit what they were going for with that version of the character in No Way Home, so it made sense to go for the Horner one, which is by no means a bad leitmotif (although I have some notes on the rest of the TASM score...it feels like a temp score in places, and I don't know if that's because Horner was running short on time or because it got chopped up in the edit because of Avi Arad/Sony).
I came into this expecting a meme and was genuinely awe struck with how amazing this was, I thought it was just going to play all of their themes at once and it would be terrible but this was incredible

Music has such an impact on our memory, and hearing all of these themes reminds me of what Marvel used to be. How much we went through with these characters. And it makes them coming together so much more impactful. 1,000/10 work.
Used to be, still is.
Right!!! Marvel used to move entire generations with its stories well-told. We got to really know the characters. We got to feel like a part of something bigger, something glorious. It’s sad that they aren’t able to evoke that level of collective emotion anymore, but we still have what was. 💙

I agree. It hits very well. However as good as this is in my opinion the original score fits better because the chord changes in "Portals" reflects the six different infinity stones, which are the real reason for the fight. I want to be clear that I'm not saying this score is not excellent. If this was in the movie I think it would be just as impactful. Well done!

I especially love how the Iron Man theme really hits the familiar notes as Pepper lands.
It fulfills on the promise of that movie which was Tony designing the suits to be able to fit Pepper. To go from that, to not seeing her much at all in the films, to this moment with the score from that movie
I mean you really did something here
Also kudos to you for making me nostalgic for the Ant-Man theme? Not on my 2022 bingo card

It's crazy. The seven year wait between Avengers and Endgame felt like an eternity, but it's already been five years since Endgame.
You did a great job! I love it when a theme music is treated as an integral part of a character, and these themes were mostly forgotten/barely used after one movie. So it was nice to hear them. But TBH, Alan Silvestri's original music in this scene is already the best music moment of the entire MCU.
No Way Home reprising Danny Elfman's responsibility theme though...
