@@elizabethjohnston5247 Well Komomo would probably be a better fit. But I think they have to do a DNA test between Monta and Momoko and make sure they aren’t related. But Monta is a nice friendly guy. Not temperamental like Haoko. This is only what I’ve been told. But older gorilla guys make good mates I think😄
@@MySkinnydip He is a friendly guy&the woman next to him ,they tried to get them together2x,he did his drumming&show off to her but he accidentally hit her and she ran away.The second time he tried she also ran away&screamed even though she was in eutrus(sorry for the spelling mistake),keepers realized that she just wanted to be alone.If komomo is a match they would make a nice family.

The financial structure of zoos in Japan is so weird. But an expert from Kyoto zoo has raised this point already. I really hope this will be changed soon.
He and rolo used to be together. Rolo, however, had lived with humans the first 3 years. She does not know the gorilla way so they had to be separated. I would like to see them try to mate him with komomo from ueno or Ai from higashiyama!
Agree. Ai could be a possible option. As for Komomo, there is a speculation that she may be related to Monta: Momoko may be his sibling. No dna test info is released. Maybe relevant parties know something and that could be the reason why Komomo is not paring with Monta. Thank you for commenting!🦍❤️
I knew they came together but it never registered they could be siblings. Although, they were suppose to mate. Maybe they figured out they were related. Monta will check to see if Laura or rolo is still there. He is so lonely for her. Makes me sad.

Hi Ruth. Thank you for subscribing! I’ve read an article (japanese newspaper) mentioning the zoo had tried to pair Monta with Rola before, but it failed. The article didn’t say why but I can guess Rola probably didn’t feel comfortable with Monta who was much younger and full of energy.😔
