Hello! Welcome to my channel, "Zoos For Conservation." My name is Karin. I am a primate enthusiast who runs this channel by myself in hopes of zoos being more proactive on the conservation of species and their natural habitats. I mainly film and share the footage of captive primates at zoos in East Asia. I am especially interested in their social behaviors and the kind of animal welfare each zoo provides their animals. I believe a species-appropriate environment and quality of animal welfare are the keys to success in the conservation.
Primates are guardians of our forests. Saving them will save ourselves.

Multi-species Exhibit of Red-faced Spider Monkeys｜黑蜘蛛猴｜アカガオクロクモザル混合展示｜CHIMELONG SAFARI PARK｜長隆野生動物世界
Filmed in December 2024 at Chimelong Safari Park in Guangzhou, China.
Overall I felt the exhibit was excellent. It is a multi-species exhibit of red-faced spider monkeys, common squirrel monkeys, common marmosets, and golden-headed lion tamarins. There are swans in the pond. What was a bit disappointing was that a keeper showed up in a pathway holding a young red-faced spider monkey. The zoo prohibits visitors from touching the animals, but showing people a human holding a young or baby primate isn't such a wise decision to educate people on the species and the wildlife conservation. This is my personal view.
Please note the background noise was unbearable, so I replaced it with a nature sound.

クモザルの特性を来園者が充分に観察できる良い環境ですね！そして、とても静か！ロープを引っ張り船を操縦するシーンが面白かった😆 やはり国土が広いっていいですね…😅 最後のクモザルの子供を飼育員さんが抱っこしているのは、、、ちょっと💦残念😥触らないでって言うくらいなら来園者の前に連れて来ない方がいいと思う。看那辺儿って誰に対して言っているのだろう？子ザル？
とても良い環境だと私も感じました。実際の環境音は来園者や飼育員の声でけっこううるさかったので、動画内の音はアマゾンの森のBGMです😜💦この動物園は展示環境はとてもよかったのですが、環境音がけっこう騒々しいのが問題かなと感じました。動物園あるあるですね😩

種類の違う猿たちが同じ環境下に暮らしてるのに新鮮な驚きです。アカガオクロクモザルは池がありボートとロープを見事に使いこなしてる賢い猿ですね。森の中のような環境で幸せそう。

I agree, a strange decision to show that as the last thing they want is people seeing them as pets. Great enclosure though. I love how Spider Monkeys are always anchored by their tails.

Those huge yawns revealed a lot. Imagine having toothache 24/7. I agree, who is monitoring this zoo? I so hope things improve for these two, the thought they're planning to bring in more is worrying.

Thank you for the update on Rola and Monta. I hate that they live separately. I wonder if they are able to see each other through the bars or mesh inside just to provide a little companionship even if they can't live together? Edit: I watched the linked video relating to Monta and found that they can see other.
Thank you, AJ, for sharing your thoughts. I don't think they can see each other through the bars, both inside and outside. In 2023 I wrote to the zoo to try opening the gate so they could see each other through the bars when they were outside. The gate used to be opened before in 2021. The zoo replied to me saying that they would eventually open the gate, but for the time being they would just try opening it on the day the zoo was closed. It's been a year since I received the reply, and the gate is still closed. I don't know why they have decided to keep it closed. It could be Rola exhibited some degree of stress. But if that is the case, I wish the zoo could have shared the process with the public. There are many things I don't understand about the way the gorillas are kept at this zoo. It would be nice to know what going to bed is all about. Do they each have their own place (cage)? What happens if one of them is not tired and starts messing with the others?
I meant Shabani prepared his bed and went to sleep. On the day I filmed this footage, the troop seemed to spend the night in that open indoor exhibit. But they might have moved to the basement after the zoo closed. I am not sure how they spend their night. Thank you for watching.

Nene- How is our Miss Nene. Is she too ill to have time with her children. One on one? Is (SHE) too ill to maybe spend a short time outside alone to get fresh air? I believe time alone with Ai would comfort Nene. I miss seeing (HER).
According to the zoo's update released on November 1, 2024, Nene seemed to be doing okay. She may not be strong enough to move the large space and cope with mischief by her son and granddaughter any longer. The zoo released the video of Nene. 同感です。Junjunが最後に椰子の実を食べている様子を見て、優しく穏やかなオスという印象を受けました。 ドンのあしあとさん、たいへん興味深い質問ありがとうございます！チンパンジーの性皮腫脹は出産後３ヶ月くらいまでは通常起こらないらしいですが、膨らんだ場合でも排卵はないようです。YayaがNiniを産んだ正確な日にちはわからないのですが、Niniは生後８ヶ月は経っているので、起こりうることなのかもしれないですね。
