Man I wish I could afford to have my 82 c10 Squarebody painted. Its a solid Texas truck located in Kentucky. Spent all its life in Texas last inspected in 2014 found it here in Kentucky in 2018. I dont wanna rattle can this thing but guess ive got no other option. I did have it LS swapped 3yrs ago.
Backyard painter are cheaper but I do understand the risk.
@@user-tl7hx2hw3i id def rather have a professional paint it for sure. Going with 68 Corvette Bronze. Its a hard color to lay down from what I've heard and seen. Truck looks decent as it is but has alot of Texas paint flake.
No worries north Dakota is a long haul anyways. But I did find out car quest is looking in to a ppg mix system. Flake is a must but like the larger .15

🤣🤣🤣🤣 man I sold the Datsun and all the nice parts I bought for it at 3x what I paid during covid. Then the owner of this project Cobra passed away and his wife put it in my lap for next to nothing. I'm all hands on deck.

@@TheCanadianBubba yes sir. I have a video on my channel cruising it once we got it running. The brilliant gentleman before me built it in 2005 but it hadn’t been on the road in a long time and it was very early 2000s build and I just wanted it to be true to the 60s spirit so I’ve been finding era correct stuff like the seats, headlights, wheels etc etc and that involves some modifications but I will be posting more about it as I wrap it up.

I agree! I enjoyed it but it had ridiculous 18's on it and I got a set of Halibrand wheels with the knock off spinners so i'm having to narrow the rear axle to make them fit. You know typical old school hot rodding.

Hey I'm scuffing paint on my 84 short box Ford getting all the mung and 40 years of yuk with green 3M scrubby pads, should I wet sand with 2000-3000 then buff, or just buff with 2000-3000 compound and wax.

I did come across a youtube channel yesterday called EngineLabs and they took the same stock 302 5.0 that I have with a baseline 200hp from the factory like mine. They put heads and cam and it was making 410hp/400tq, then they took an era appropriate Vortech supercharger, slapped it on and was making 828hp on that stock motor. Might have to sneak in a few upgrades.
The truck is two-wheel drive it's going to spin that Cobra is going to hook up and take off@@Photobombin
@@dwreckbaker6382 you haven't seen the modifications KC has done. He has mickey thompson street slicks and he got the stock wheels widened to accommodate more rubber. You'll see in tomorrow's video, he smoked Lukes 2024 Mustang GT by a lot, he took him to Gapplebees and then some. He took me for a ride to film and that thing straight hooks.
@@dwreckbaker6382 plus his truck is an auto and i'm a stick, i'm a pretty good racer but KC has way more hits than me. Plus I got that garbage ass stock T5 transmission. I plan to replace it with a TKX later this year or next year.
