Problem is, right now Tatum is shooting 38% overall and 0% from 3 since exhibition games ended. This isn't NBA playoffs where you can afford to drop games while you wait for Tatum to get it together. They have to play the guys that are performing.
You can have a skill set that's better than a player, but if you cannot execute that skill effectively when you are on a different team, that's a problem. In this game, Serbia was shooting 3's like it wasn't nothing. In the 4th with Book on the floor, Serbia was 0-9 with 3 pointers. Despite the difference in these players in the NBA, you can't dismiss Book by far has the highest + stats when he is on the court out of all his teammates on this team. He is quiet about it, so it's missed. I think because he is out there with the big 3, people are not truly focusing on his game.
Jrue holiday was the second best player on that team.

Tatum is 4th/5th in minutes per game when he plays, but 10th in production averaging 0% from 3 and 38.8% shooting overall. He's been trash. Everyone else is basically shooting shooting 40% from 3 and 50%-60% overall, save 1 or 2 exceptions but they're still way better overall.

I watched all the games and anytime Tatum was in he was missing threes, turning the ball over, or missing dunks. He’s a walking bucket, but didn’t fill a role that Derick White, Jrue, or DBook could fill. When Durant is 100% , you’re not gonna replace him for Tatum.
Tatum has been mediocre in the Olympic exhibitions and games he’s played in, offensively and defensively. His accolades don’t justify playing time if there are better more consistent options. They’re playing to win the gold medal, not accommodate folks personal feelings.

And stop acting like the Finals mean anything. Draymond barely played in 2016 coming off of back to back Finals runs. If anything, this means he still isn't good enough and needs to work on getting better. If he does, he won't need to worry about riding the bench next Olympics.
