  • The Freewing A6 Intruder is an awesome jet! 80mm edf is perfect size for this plane, and the high performance model has great scale speed.
    I do have a set of Nerf Howler whistles installed to add to the turbine sound.
    Commentary excerpts are from the Sea Wings show on Discovery channel, and music is Ozzy Osborn- Crazy Train.
    Flying is taking place in Atwater, CA - at Merced County Radio Control Club

    Back in the mid to late 80's I was a jet engine mechanic who worked on A-6E aircraft at whidbey island, Washington. This would be a great r/c for me to have. 👍⚓️🇺🇲

      @@patrickcarnahan5493 those j52 engines, actually the A-6 was considered not very dependable even with 2 engines, in the fleet it was considered if you lost 1 engine you were a yard dart with ejection seats, lol, but I tell you what very dependable when you took good care of them, all weather medium attacked. aircraft. Loved working on these jets from vietnam.

      @@ronringwald5120 Man I could only imagine the strain those engines must have had to carrier launch with a full payload of ordnance and fuel. I bet you and your crew kept those engines in tip top shape though! Thank you for your service dude!

      @@patrickcarnahan5493 my honor sir, those engines were always in top notch running, any problems then we yank the motor out & put in a good one, then engine taken out is sent to another department for rework.

    where did you instal the nerf howler whistles, it sounds awesome!

    • @patrickcarnahan5493
      @patrickcarnahan5493  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! The whistles are installed right at the exit of the exhaust and I drilled into the fuselage then glued them in. There was another TH-cam video of someone who had a detailed walkthrough on putting them in, which I followed. However since this install, I now actually install all my whistles right behind the edf unit inside the thrust tube. This plane was my first time with them, and I was instantly hooked haha
      You can actually see the little bump of the whistles at 2:44 in the video. Unfortunately the still images and weathering in my garage was done prior to the whistle install, so those parts of the video don’t actually show them.

      Thanks man! Much appreciated! I am running a 6s 4000mah battery from HRB, ordered through Amazon. I have my timer set for 3 mins of flight time, not including the taxi to and from the runway. :)

    Paint the inside of those tailpipes flat black as far into them as you can see.Also that triangular (sort of)shaped area just behind the exhaust is stainless steel on the real aircraft.

      @patrickcarnahan5493  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! 🙏
      Yep! It can land a lot slower, and I have been really finding my groove on slowing my landings down with all my jets. On my other A6 videos that are taken with on board video, I’ve been able to crawl in with a few of them, but it’s harder to see since it’s basically fpv.
      Cheers!

  • @scotabot7826

    Slow that baby down on landing. You are landing extremely hot. It will fly, and land a whole lot slower.

    • @patrickcarnahan5493
      @patrickcarnahan5493  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is true, I have had slower and better landings, but not on camera unfortunately. I thinks some of my other videos with the camera under the wing have slower landings. You are correct though. It does look beautiful with a a bit less speed and grease the runway
