    On this episode we are rolling along with the roadster, literal and figuratively! We mock up the spindles and drums and get the steering boxes bolted in. We get the early tie rod ends disassembled, cleaned up and mocked in for measurements. A new drag link and cross steer are being made. And the wheels and tires are bolted on. Summer cruising is amongst us! Fingers crossed.

    Coming together nicely. I like the way you keep stuff even if you no it’s not good enough to use on the road. It will always be there when you need a part or piece to do a mock up and not wishing you had binned it. Although you can get a lot of stick for being a hoarder. As I do from family. Why have one engine when you can have three. And why not read a magazine and then pass it on instead of thousands of mags from years gone bye. Keep it up Jordan. Thanks Tim.

      Exactly right Tim! I’ve done the sell lots of bits and pieces but it really is best to keep a lot of it for those rainy days, I love to dig through Nic-naks to see what I can create out of them

    Like the look of the wires on the roadster Jordan, good choice on deciding to use threaded tie rod ends on solid bar for the steering , I did the same on my '48 Dodge ute when the originals were obsolete... works well, also cutting and shutting steering components is illegal for road use down here, well it was when I did mine. Cheers Greg

    You are a brave man to wear white pants in a fab shop! I could walk by anything that had ever been rusty, greased, etc. and they would look like your coveralls from the clay track episode 😂. Being from an aircraft background, 4130 tube and heim joints would decorate my car. Not period, as I think you are going for- but hell for stout and easy. Looking forward to seeing what comes next!

      Hahah yeah they didn’t last long and now are completely brown! Oh well. Haha
      Yeah this is true! It’s hard to balance both early parts and safety some times

    I'm running 17's all around but with a much taller tire on the back. You might consider that if you can't find 18's.

    I’ve got a set of 1934-36 16” wire wheels with white wall 16-7.00 BF for my roadster, going with the same theme Highboy fenderless. Hi From Kamloops, B.C. 👍 Keep up the great content! ❤

    Bloody unreal, just finished watching Jay Leno scudding around
    in a Radial Motion powered Meyer Manx, then heres Jordan
    with a Vw Kombi with the RM engine hanging off the back.
    I had never heard of these engines before, then 2 in 2 vids!
    Hope to hear a lot more about them.
    Love those vintage wires on the roadster, I can remember
    far enough back to when most vehicle had them!

    You don't have to remove the backing plate to adjust, you can loosen the locking nut with the wheel at full lock.

  • @ronh5491
    @ronh5491 ปีที่แล้ว

    The front backing plates may have a slight angle to compensate for the straight axel toein
