We Customised these RARE Tail Lights to fit the '29 ROADSTER

  • On this episode we take our Original 1939 Pontiac Silver Streak tail lights and adapt them to work naturally with the 1932 Ford frame horns and compliment the body. We create a simple bracket to eliminate the spreader bar flange bolts and almost give the appearance that the tail light is floating. We colour match the lights to simulate the bodies natural patina. For this build we didn't cut the rear frame horns that commonly done with A bodies and these tail lights mounted make them look as if they are suppose to be there. These are definitely the details we enjoy to create.

    Nicely done ! Definitely the right way to go , much nicer than knocking holes in the back panel and mounting a pair of taillights. You have an amazing eye for design Jordan 👊🏻

    Great job on the tail lights! I really like them Jordan! I've Never seen them on a hot rod before but they sure are a natural for it! Probably be seeing more now! :)

    Very clean looking brackets Jordan, I guess the hard part now is to find indicators to compliment the Pontiac lights seeing we have to use amber lens down here.... I see your Dawn vise got a makeover recently it looks very old school. Cheers Greg

      @@bennettscustomsco it will, maybe some type of small cowl light might work its a pity the pontiac lights are rare you could put clear glass in and mount them side by side

    Jordan, a lot of early trucks here , especially the English ones like Bedford and Austin trucks used Lucas round taillights with glass lenses. If you keep your eye out at swap meets, you might find something nobody in the States has ever seen.

    I love your work, your insane designs, and they way you mothodicaly go through every step.
    Your train of thought and your vision into how the project will turn out is mind blowing but there's a saying that is not used nearly as much as it should be these days because most people are just plain rude and aggressive.
    Those of us who use this saying don't want to upset others by telling the truth as they see it. For example, your best friend has a new girlfriend, but she's an ugly fugly. He asks, "So what do you think guys?" Do you lie so as not to hurt his feelings or tell the truth that's she's the most ugly girl you've ever seen?
    Most of us hate negative criticism, me included, so instead of telling a lie, this is what we say.
    "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."
    For those of you who have not heard this saying before or have but don't really understand its meaning. It means that beauty does not exist on its own but is created by observers.
    Sorry, but in my opinion, those lights don't look right on that particular car. Contrast wins hands down every time. Use the last rectangular set as contrast but vertically.
    Just because your car is full of curves doesn't mean that everything needs to be curved. The lights are too much over the top. As they say, beauty in the eye of the beholder.

    • @bennettscustomsco
      @bennettscustomsco  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Always good to hear constructive criticism! And that’s a good saying to go by as well. For me these will stay for now! Thanks Boogie!

    Hey Jordan your not an Aquarius by any chance? I like these lights I also like the Pontiacs. And the 32 fords that bolt to the frame. I still think a gas tank would of been nice but then your lights wouldn’t of worked at all. Take care Tim.
