I listened this when it outs - 7 years ago. I was a 23 y.o lone young man who several months ago buys his first car - VW Passat B6. I got several 'more than friends' relationships at this time, zero money (the main reason described in previous sentence), but much of life enjoyment and happiness. 7 years after - I got a good job, good car, my own apartment, perfect wife but 7 years ago I was much happier. Thanks for every your mix. Each of it got some associations with different parts of my life.

It reminds me of when I lived in seattle Id stay up all night on fridays to go driving at 1 or 2 in the morning running a loop along the 90 405 5 freeways driving in circles pushing my car to the limits when there was no traffic for no other reason to go fast just to feel alive. Looking at the lights in downtown as I drove by. Stopping at the same gas station to get monsters to drink so I didnt fall asleep at the wheel. Sitting in the parking lot by alkai staring at the skyline. Contemplating life. With a phone full of text messages I sent that never got replies and calls that all got sent to voicemail. Always alone. I always did these highway "runs" by myself and the funny part is I was alone but I loved it. I miss driving in circles with no destination just going and only stopping when I got to tired to keep my eyes open. There was no greater feeling than redlining 3rd gear as you come flying down the on ramp to the freeway with the window down and there would be this moment where everything would be so loud around me the sound of the car moving along the pavement the exhaust note screaming right before you hit the rev limiter the wind blowing and just for a second with all this noise everything in my mind went silent and anything I was thinking about was gone and I just stared out as I drove past and saw the sea of lights that made up the city and it was fucking beautiful...
This music connects me to a moment in 2005. I lived in Tampa, Florida at the time. Tampa is located on a peninsula in the middle of a large bay. There are very long bridges spanning across the water connecting to St. Petersburg. I remember, I was driving at night in late February across one of the longer bridges. My windows were down and my sunroof was open. The air was humid but mild almost cool. It swirled through the cabin in constant but gentle gusts. All around me the water was pitch black, with only the occasional buoy or boat light giving the impression of distant stars in the inky darkness. The nothingness stretched in every direction for miles. In front, off in the distance, I could see the lights of the buildings downtown. Behind me I could see the muted glow of the St. Pete suburbs. There were few, if any, other cars on the road with me. But regardless, I felt completely alone. Not lonely, or abandoned, or neglected, but present in the moment with only myself. To say I felt content is an oversimplification. It was fulfillment in idleness, but a yearning for activity. Excitement in existence, yet acceptance of mortality. I no longer remember where I had been that night, or even returning home. I only remember the moment. This music does not remind me of that moment, I could not tell you what if anything I had playing on radio that night. This music returns me to that moment, sailing through the night.
I'd really love to just go out for a drive in the middle of the night just for the hell of it. There's something freeing about feeling the air rush past you, knowing that there's nothing but the open road ahead of you. There are always people awake deep in the night, but we're all isolated from each other, in our own cars or our own homes. We are aware of each other, even if we can't see each other... and there's a sense of quiet camaraderie in that.

It's a restless feeling, isn't it? Like we've discovered everything there is to discover here, and we long to explore yet society has us restrained. We have the illusion of freedom, yet are enslaved by a myriad of laws that keep freedom at bay. You want the galaxy, my friend, another world or a new star. It's where we need to be. To have the same freedom again as our ancestors did, only that will cure the feeling we have.

•Try to live in the present! Dont let the future or the past interfere with the present. In my experience, TONS of anxiety stems from doing this. •After those days have passed it might feel shitty like you wish you could go back and change things. It's ok though because after a few years you'll get used to it and those feelings/days won't matter like you feel right now. Just respond to what happens to you, do it wisely, and to the best of your ability. And be pro-active about your future. You sit still, let things get stagnant, they start to rot, fall apart, and get tougher. Keep moving forward. The quicker you learn to take care of responsibilities (Do shit you don't wanna do constantly) the easier it is to get through. •Oh and watch out for alcohol! It can quickly develop into a problem that is hell, and a mofo to try and escape from! ( Recovering alcoholic here)
Every so often I come back to this mix, on special nights when I have a little time to myself - sometimes just before bed to settle down, sometimes on troubled nights I need to take some space, sometimes a late shift on the job. But every time is precious to me in some way, thanks to this playlist.

My wife and I listened to this mix on our first wedding anniversary in 2017. We were staying in a hotel in Kobe and enjoying some wine on the balcony whilst enjoying the night view and could see a elevated highway in the distance; in a way it kind of reflected a modern version of the image in the video. It made me wonder if the view from that hotel would one day reflect the image. Anyway, this mix is a favourite of mine and I often listen to it in the office to drown out the sounds of my co-workers and help me focus. Thanks for the hard work, Asthenic.

This is my favorite synthwave mix. The first song by hello meteor already gives me an indescribable feeling of absolute peace with myself and the worlds within my imagination. Even after 3-4 years of listening to this (mostly in bed at night watching the moon, or in the bathtub all lights out except one blue/color changing neon light) I still get the exact same feeling. There are very long bridges spanning across the water connecting to St. Petersburg. I remember, I was driving at night in late February across one of the longer bridges. My windows were down and my sunroof was open. The air was humid but mild almost cool. It swirled through the cabin in constant but gentle gusts. All around me the water was pitch black, with only the occasional buoy or boat light giving the impression of distant stars in the inky darkness. The nothingness stretched in every direction for miles. In front, off in the distance, I could see the lights of the buildings downtown. Behind me I could see the muted glow of the St. Pete suburbs. There were few, if any, other cars on the road with me. But regardless, I felt completely alone. Not lonely, or abandoned, or neglected, but present in the moment with only myself. To say I felt content is an oversimplification. It was fulfillment in idleness, but a yearning for activity. Excitement in existence, yet acceptance of mortality. I no longer remember where I had been that night, or even returning home. I only remember the moment. This music does not remind me of that moment, I could not tell you what if anything I had playing on radio that night. This music returns me to that moment, sailing through the night.

I'd really love to just go out for a drive in the middle of the night just for the hell of it. There's something freeing about feeling the air rush past you, knowing that there's nothing but the open road ahead of you.
There are always people awake deep in the night, but we're all isolated from each other, in our own cars or our own homes. We are aware of each other, even if we can't see each other... and there's a sense of quiet camaraderie in that.

fuck i'm 17 and listening to this and reading the comments has just hit me with a wave of sadness, not only did my grade school years fly by without me even noticing, but i'm now realizing how little time i have left until i'm an adult with a job and responsibilities. i'm trying to live my life to the fullest and i'm enjoying every second of high school, but whenever i'm with friends or at a party, i cant help but think of how these days are very quickly running out....
•Try to live in the present! Dont let the future or the past interfere with the present. In my experience, TONS of anxiety stems from doing this.
•After those days have passed it might feel shitty like you wish you could go back and change things. It's ok though because after a few years you'll get used to it and those feelings/days won't matter like you feel right now. Just respond to what happens to you, do it wisely, and to the best of your ability. And be pro-active about your future. You sit still, let things get stagnant, they start to rot, fall apart, and get tougher. Keep moving forward. The quicker you learn to take care of responsibilities (Do shit you don't wanna do constantly) the easier it is to get through.
•Oh and watch out for alcohol! It can quickly develop into a problem that is hell, and a mofo to try and escape from! ( Recovering alcoholic here)

i've been listening to electric/chillwave/melodlic/synthwave music all my life...strange how youtube comments tend to be peaceful & full of good vibes....where people can drop there guard & be real......you can just go anywhere else on youtube & look at the constant argumentative negative vibes & i know why i LOVE this genre & the type of people who love it too. My type of people who stare at the stars & chat round campfires..
My wife and I listened to this mix on our first wedding anniversary in 2017. We were staying in a hotel in Kobe and enjoying some wine on the balcony whilst enjoying the night view and could see a elevated highway in the distance; in a way it kind of reflected a modern version of the image in the video. It made me wonder if the view from that hotel would one day reflect the image.
Anyway, this mix is a favourite of mine and I often listen to it in the office to drown out the sounds of my co-workers and help me focus.

This is my favorite synthwave mix. The first song by hello meteor already gives me an indescribable feeling of absolute peace with myself and the worlds within my imagination. It's like being alive in a different place, a place I can feel at home. Even after 3-4 years of listening to this (mostly in bed at night watching the moon, or in the bathtub all lights out except one blue/color changing neon light) I still get the exact same feeling. It's almost spiritual to me. Thank you so much for uploading this amazing mix, and thank you so much to the incredibly talented artists of the songs and the beautiful animation. I wish everyone the highest form of love and peace in their lives, within their selves.
