In my 20s I had a 1952 CJ 2A heavily, for the time, modified Jeep! Powered by a 232 CID Studebaker V-8, Warn hubs, Warn winch, Warn overdrive. Can recall if that unit went between the transmission and transfer case, or behind the TC! Also had a box extension on the back with room for a 5 gallon jerry can mounted on each side with a spare mounted on the tail gate. Wider tires on wider rims! Differentials had been re-geared, don't recall the ratios now. It cruised easily at 70 MPH in 3rd gear high range 2WD and overdrive. The Studebaker conversion was pretty simple as the jeep tranny would bolt right up to the Studebaker bell housing. Only had to change the pilot shaft! Motor mounts were simple. Did require a custom built radiator for the higher cooling needs, and a hood bubble to accommodate the carb and air cleaner. Sold it like a fool when I moved to another state. One of many regrets!
Now at 51, I continue to tell my Wife that I want another jeep like I had. Way back in the day I had a 79 CJ5 Renegade with 304. The one vehicle I have always regretted selling. Bad part is, I have a 1970 Chevelle SS 454 sitting in the garage that rarely gets driven, a jeep would be the same.
I got around in the Air Force in the early 80s with a 79 CJ7 about like this one only with the straight six! Really missed it for a while until I got my 77 FJ40 Toyota Land Cruiser and later a 76. Loved em all but something special bout the American made Jeep of the 70s and 80s! Not quite as sturdy or heavy duty as the TLC's are but they are easily built up from the platform the factory provided. The V8 in this package makes it very appealing!
Nothing like a real 2 door Jeep. No doors, no windows is what true Jeepin is all about. Ditch the hard top! Jeeps were never meant to cocoon its passengers. Get a Best Top NX Glide for this CJ. I can remove mine in under 3 minutes as it should be. 🇺🇸😎👍
Soon as I seen you turn in at y’alls place I’m like dang now I’m a truck driver in South Carolina and a few of my customers are near y’all now I know were y’all are
i think fiat is doing a pretty good job keeping the brand alive. somebody had to. much better than if the brand had to be tossed and closed like oldsmobile or pontiac
This car has already been parked in someone else’s driveway but keep an eye on our website and TH-cam channel because we have new inventory coming in every day!
That sexy jeep is not a golden eagle. It a basic model cj. Limited edition cj's have always have a clock and some ac, the ones I've seen. I have a 1978 cj7 levi edition it has a clock and ac. Hope you're not charging extra for it..
Possibly the finest Jeep I’ve ever seen. I hope it found a loving home.
Love it. I miss the one my dad gave me for my first car at 13 years of age. Aww those jeeps could talk
