How to make your own article on Wikipedia.

When making your own Wikipedia article you should aim for at least 100 words with three citations. You should draft your article in your sandbox.
Tip: use an exemplar page as your guideline.

If there is a page about something sharing the same subject name but I want to create a brand new page about a subject with the same name (one of those disambiguation examples) - does it count as a new article, and thus require me to have made 10 edits previously?

if it is a new page then it counts as a new article, even if a disambiguation page) and requires the 4 day 10 edits before you can create it. You can still edit existing content however.

@yoloreal the new Wikipedia page is reviewed by 'New Page Patrol' Wikipedia reviewing editors. If it passes muster, then it will be approved and indexed by Wikipedia. After that it tends to be indexed by Google and showing in top page results but Google is a separate org and it's algorithm's workings are kept secret. Wikipedia tends to be preferentialised though.

Usually they don't like that. Unless there are reliable sources about you (for example, an interview). Also, you have to be neutral.

yes, but text only. Links and citations and any formatting need to be done using the Wikipedia 'Visual Editor' drop down menus. copy & paste in and out of wikipedia can generate html errors

also note that every page of wikipedia is open-licensed content so pasting any great big chunks of copyrighted text even in your draft area counts as copyright violation and will be flagged/removed accordingly. Write in your own words, attribute short quotes and cite everything you write.
