      @@AaronYoungGoogleAds Hey Aaron, I would appreciate some clarity on your Max Clicks for new campaigns strategy:
      Would your strategy of choosing Max Clicks for a new campaign make sense when choosing "Purchase Conversion" as the campaign goal? If I'm not mistaken, would the purpose of Max Clicks in this scenario be to see if I can get some sales to begin with and build conversion data and then use Max Conversions to further increase sales? Is it even possible to get sales in the beginning with Max Clicks? Do I have the right idea here?

    I have an account for an e-commerce company that has had a successful Shopping Campaign running for roughly 12 months. I am now looking to add a Search campaign for the main brand keywords. Would I initially use a ‘Maximise Clicks’ bidding strategy or ‘Maximise Conversions’?. I know it is mentioned in this video to switch over after 30 conversions, I have many more than 30 conversions in the relatable shopping campaign but not in the new search campaign.

      @@eglepetkeviciute4929No, the ad strength does not matter if you are starting out with no conversion data. It's easier to identify what specific headlines or descriptions are performing best when there is less. Adding more will boost your ad strength according to google. However, this does not help boost results, which later lead to conversions/sales. I recommend this for all new clients. This has worked for us for the past 15 years.

      Thanks Gokka. No these types of changes will not restart the learning process. The main changes that cause this are:

    Hi Aaron, why are you making bid adjustments, when using a maximise conversions strategy (where Google will adjust the bids)?

    • @AaronYoungGoogleAds
      @AaronYoungGoogleAds  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Nick, this is because I find that it improves my campaign performance. In my experience maximise conversion strategies work best for time of day, day of week targeting. This is partly because Google has a 5,000 impression in 30 day benchmark to finish testing so if your audience and campaign is not spending enough to reach this benchmark the testing won't be completed for Google to then adjust the bidding.
      My view is that Google Ads work best when my manual optimisations are assisting Google's automatic optimisations RATHER than just leaving everything up to Google.
      Hope that helps. Aaron

    Hi Aaron, in relation to bidding strategies I have a question --
    With maximise clicks you risk it getting as many clicks as possible from lower placements which are mostly worthless (when I segment by placement on all my accounts it shows nearly all conversions come from top of page placement).
    Isn't Target impression share a better strategy because you can set criteria to get only the most valuable clicks at top placements? You can also set a CPC to play around with costs.

    • @MarkRyanNZ
      @MarkRyanNZ ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I had the exact same question

    • @psmadsen
      @psmadsen ปีที่แล้ว

      My 50 cent would be that people generally click and convert on top of page ads (when have you ever clicked an ad on page 3?). The only difference is, that in the beginning of a campaign, you cannot expect google to optimize for conversions because there aren't any. Impression share bidding is great for branded keywords but a very expensive and cost-inefficient option for competitive keywords.

    Question; How can I optimize the following issue: I am running a call only campaign using Target Impression Share for Bidding, I raised the budget to $120 a day and nothing, it's not a budget issue, a deleted about 5 keywords. Using the same strategy for other clients and with much less budget and getting more impressions, clicks and calls.
    This one is not doing anything. How can I fix this issue?
    Eligible (Limited)

    Bid limits
    Maximum bid limits are being met by multiple keywords or targeting methods using this bid strategy. As a result, your bids may not be fully optimized.

    Does Maximize Conversions ignore bid adjustments on Demographics like Household Income?

    • @AaronYoungGoogleAds
      @AaronYoungGoogleAds  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Michael, Maximize Conversions can go through and edit bid adjustments for any item in Google Ads. However, I have found that they mainly focus on:
      > Day of the week
      > Hour of the day
      > Devices
      > Locations
      And not as much on audiences & demographics like income.
      So for campaigns where I am running 'Maximize Conversions' I will usually allow Google to focus on Time, Device & location adjustments. With me manually adding adjustments to audiences & demographics.
      Hope that helps. Aaron
