We are used to nuclear stuff. But in the 1940's this was like the Devil showing himself in a scary fury!
From The Independent 2005: J Robert Oppenheimer, the brilliant scientist who oversaw the building of the bomb, famously said after the first test detonation: *"Now I am become death, the destroyer of worlds."*
From the Baltimore Sun 1993: On July 16, 1945, moments after the first nuclear device detonated at the Trinity test site in Nevada, Robert Oppenheimer, the physicist who had led the team that produced the atomic bomb, turned to a colleague and said, *"Now science has known evil."*
Oppenheimer's remark has gone down in history with Samuel F.B. Morse's *"What hath God wrought?"*

Trinity site was in New Mexico, 150 miles south of Los Alamos. (what is now White Sands Missile Range) It made sense for them to do it in that location in terms of transportation etc. The site is open to the public twice a year in the spring and fall.

There are too many streaming services and now they’re making you add on premium plans it’s getting ridiculous. People aren’t seeing enough new things because there’s too many options and anything good you have to add on a new service or upgrade. The greed is out of control. It needs to be more simple. If it’s condensed down to a more basic model again I think tv shows and movies can be advertised more directly to people. I see why those people are on strike they might be replaced soon that’s scary.

Oppenheimer: One last thing; remember the movie The Producers (aka Springtime For Hitler), where Mel Brooks and Gene Wilder intentionally make a bad movie to cash in on an insurance loss policy? It seems we have a copycat here. The dialogue is almost not existent due to the loud, overwhelming, spastic violins and cellos. If you didn't observe this, then you are deaf or didn't see the movie. This movie might get an 8 if muted and using closed captions. Historically it was correct and the acting was excellent!

Having lived there and retired from the Lab (1985 - 2011), I can tell you that the location does not look like the town of Los Alamos. Los Alamos basically sits on 4 mesas and the main Lab area is more alpine, and somewhat nestled closer to ponderosas and aspens of the Jemez mountains. The Lab sits at about 7300 feet in elevation. The ski hill is just a 12 minute drive up from the main Administration building(TA-3). I used to go up there for lunch. The movie set looks more like Alamagordo than Los Alamos. The did film some in/around Fuller Lodge (5:15), which was where the pre-war Los Alamos Ranch School was centered. That's essentially how "they" chose Los Alamos for project Y. I believe that "they" was really Oppenheimer, who had attended the ranch school as a boy.

Oppenheimer was one of a couple hundred physicists on the Manhattan project.
He didn't invent the fission (atomic) bomb.
    He advised on the project.
He is technically a theoretical physicist.
Edward Teller, Stanislaw Ulam, Enrico Fermi, and Albert Einstein were the true visionaries that devised the structure.
All of these other people simply became factory workers who assembled the fission bomb itself in the Los Alamos laboratory in New Mexico.
It was Edward Teller that suggested that the u s government take oppenheimer's security clearance away from him because he became a liability when he grew a conscience.
Several years after that, Edward Teller and Stanislaw Ulam came up with the idea for the 2 stage thermonuclear device.
Then we brought in Werner Von Braun from Germany, who invented the rocket.
He helped us mount the 2-stage nuke on a missile in 1955.
Now you have what we call the biggest stick in the neighborhood.
But what we didn't know at the time was that another physicist named Klaus Fuchs was spying for the USSR.
    Next thing you know...
Joseph Stalin is detonating test nukes on Novya Zemlya.
It is believed that Oppenheimer opened the door for the USSR To spy on our Manhattan project and all of the other projects involving nuclear weapons.
They should have executed him the minute they found out.
    Other spies were executed.
    Why not him?
A story that will live in infamy forever.

Richard Rhodes wrote the best books on this subject.
I became very interested in this subject after being
Stationed at a Pershing 1 launch site in Germany in the US army in the 1980s.
I had a security clearance that allowed me to see a lot firsthand.

According to several reports, the events depicted in the film are wildly exaggerated when it comes to O.U.R. According to a 2020 report by Vice News, their involvement in the rescue of a trafficked woman was highly embellished in the film when compared to real-life events. The organization itself has also been widely criticized for its loose operations and poor preparation when reacting to criminal activity. The real Tim Ballard has even gone on record lying about his involvement in these operations as depicted in the film.
Given that the film borders more on propaganda than a dramatic retelling of harrowing events, it's no wonder that Disney might have been hesitant to attach their name to the film (we haven't even gotten to the QAnon stances held by the film's main star).
