ZAGREB 🇭🇷 Mirogoy + Jarun Lake | Vero and Justin (Croatia travel vlog video)

- Watch in 4K ✧ In this March 2020 Croatia travel vlog, we visited the incredible Mirogoy cemetary and Zagreb's sea- Jarun Lake. These are must-dos when visiting this city!
We finally had two sunny back-to-back days so we left our coats at home and explored more of Zagreb! On the first day, we decided to visit the Mirogoy Cemetary- which is SO much more than it sounds. It has lots of beautiful sculptures and a grand entrance also known as the arcades. A really nice taxi driver told us before we entered that there is a fee for taking photos and videos in Mirogoy- which we confirmed is 700 kn or $140 CAD. We decided to take some drone footage of the outside instead of paying the fee. The following day, we woke up with a craving to sit by the beach. Although we couldn't not swim yet as it's still winter, we had lots of fun soaking in the sun at Jarun Lake, also known as the Zagreb Sea (named after the Croatian Adriatic Sea).

My parents, grandparents and great-grandparents are buried at Mirogoj, and I will end up there when my time comes. Unfortunately this earthquake damaged the Arcades and the graves, but we will restore it to its old glory!
Ahhh no, sorry to hear Mirogoy got damaged by that earthquake ☹️ we left Zagreb the day before it happened.. we saw photos of the damaged cathedral and other buildings. So scary and hope the city and residents are doing well.

This seems to be a very charming city, I hope I can visit sometime in the future Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much!

That's awesome! It's such a cool city. We highly recommend taking a city tour to get to know the history while sight seeing (we did ours through Airbnb experiences with Luka, was fantastic) and trying a spinach burek at our fav place on Dolac 2. Enjoy the city ♥️🇭🇷

You can use tap water for drinking,you do not have to buy water. You can reffil your botle on water fontan on the like,beside public rest rooms.

Ya! We saw almost everything except for the several museums. We were in Zagreb for 1.5 months and really made the best of it! 🇭🇷❤️

Lake Jarun existed long before 1987. In 1980s the lake was constructed, as it now looks, for the Universiade held in Zagreb (1987.).
Thanks so much for clarifying - we didn't know about the Universiade! I wish we wouldn't visited Jarun a bit more, apparently there is also a Walk of Fame section, but we didn't make it there.

Well last european vampire was from from Croatia so of course we have fortress around cemetery. Vampire hunters are part of special police force (example Mirko Cro Cop). They don't live near burial sites so they can prepare for counter strike in case of vampire/zombie insurrection. True story. And cemetery in city of Varaždin is considered most beautiful in Croatia, also worth of visit ;).

Actually I didn't know that is not allowed to film there. I have never try to film there. But the price is to high and everything about buying ticket to film sounds strange to me. Did you get a recit?
So we didn't actually buy that pass, because that's really expensive. We snuck in a few videos here and there. I agree that it's absurd to charge for people to take pics and videos. Maybe it's to prevent tourists from vlogging during a funeral, but that's common sense, no one would do that.
