  • Trying out the adaptive reticule in this video and I think it hits the spot! Taking a ton more territory and getting ready to ambush our first strike fleet. Sadly a test causes a small issue but we should be fine.

      Awesome, welcome aboard! It's disgustingly difficult game but I love it. Episodes will come more often now that new year is behind us.

      Awesome, Maf! For me it’s like the opposite! I was really looking forward to Highfleet but couldn’t sort my ass from my elbow. Finding Phrosphor I might actually learn the game 🤣🎯

    This is a veeeeeery educational playthrough. Need to take more of the late game into account when starting my next game.

      I really feel that the game is decided in the fleet builder and ship designer. Planning for success is pretty important. Having set ways to take cities, break garrisons and deal with strike groups is vital to making ground. I like to play a very stealthy approach with radar off and using ELINT to track and triangulate enemies, but there are many different ways to play. It is something that makes the game really interesting.
      Glad to see that my playthrough is helping!

    Look, I know that the FAB-1000 is a great thing to keep enemies on the ground, but I REALLY think you should use it more. Not only is that thing the most powerful form of ordinance you can hit an enemy with ( It's just as if not even more powerful than a direct hit by a Kh-15 ), but it's also the cheapest form of ANY armament you can load your ship with at the meer cost of 200. While it's not really necessary to drop it on every garrison due to how they tend to be rather weak, they are definitely useful against medium and especially large ships. You may do as you please of course, but I truly urge you reconsider how you use the FAB-1000.

      Now that my supply of bombs is secure I am planning on using them a lot more often. It's a lot of damage for 200gold.

    This is the perfect time to use your screamers. Either put them on air stop just outside the city in the direction of the missile carrier so they'll intercept any retalliation strikes or whizz one of them to a random other city to raise an alarm there and deterr any incoming strike groups.
    Also I think after the alarm was raised by the bombers, even if your attack craft had arrived in time, they would have still alerted the fleet to your presence, though I'm not 100% sure on the exact mechanics around that :)
    Great episode though! This campaign is already so action packed in the first few hours... Very cool to see, but also a ton of stuff to keep attention to :)

    I’ve found that flares work better if they are all aimed in the same direction. The missile will track the flares in the same direction every time, so you know what it will do.
    Having the flares fire in every direction makes it harder to know which way to dodge.

      Yeah good point, I have seen a few designs that use this approach and flying them is a lot safer.

    Yay missile refits. Now 20% safer. Hope you have a happy holiday end of month time as well! And doing good so far. Finding a deeper hidden city might be the next step. Ship refits take a lot of time if you need to edit the base vanilla ships.

    For my Russian ear "derezeskiy" sounds like second name of some Poland war chief. If you want sound more russianish use R, like pirate, YARRRR. An z must be like Z, short and bold. And in "DeRZkiy" word - no sounds between R and Z.

    I need to make copies of ships so I can give them proper names, too. Your method is like efficient role-playing, previously thought of to be an oxymoron.

      I had a big problem in my last campaign of the game randomly renaming my ships back to their chassis names which caused a lot of confusion. This way is a bit clunkier but it really helps with tracking everything.

    I've got some questions:
    1. Would you do a mostly carrier campaign
    2. Is there any value in making one Super carrier rather than alot of smaller ones?
    3. Will you ever make a super carrier?

    Pretty sure Royal Guard just reduces the morale loss the ship takes when global morale events occur. Nice to have but not as important as veteran gunner or pilot, which are useful all the time.

      It also stops the morale loss from a salvage accident, which is nice. I was misinformed at the time that it made morale recover faster when resting the ship.

    I did a campaign once where i just sat in ur with 4 gladiators until i had killed all the mobile groups... rest of the campaign was... easy.

      It is very easy to overpower the AI in this game. My goal is ride line on that to keep things interesting.

      It directly affects how many survivors show up. Considering the game punishes you for ramming enemy ships I think it's an oversight that it doesn't punish for shooting down enemy escape pods!

      Excellent play so far btw. I'm just starting on normal and I'm already poor, running low on fuel and alerted the enemy SGs twice.

      @@vaclavjebavy5118 If you ram another ship Pyotr will ask if you did it on purpose, then you will lose fleet wide moral for throwing away your people's lives. It's pretty nasty!
