    If you're not aiming for a score goal, is it a bad idea to track something like hitting greens? Right now I'm trying to hit 8 greens in a round. It's not a SCORE as such, but I need to improve in that stat and it has given me a very clear idea of what I have to do...😅

      Having green goals is great! More greens correlate to lower handicaps, so that's a great goal. Thanks for watching

      I'd take it one step further than that. Why are you missing greens? Directional miss or mishit based miss?
      If its mishit based then you should probably focus on contact and count how many good contacts you have on approach rather than how many greens and if it's a directional miss then I'd be tracking if I'm missing more left or more right and then use that to pick better targets. Play a couple. Of rounds with your new focus and see if you hit more greens.

      @@robertcourt8593 Oh right - good points there. I'd say it's more directional than mis-hits so my aim is off. i've got a lesson booked in, so at least i'll have something to show the pro. I'll keep a record of WHY my approaches miss, as you suggest. Thank you Robert!

    What’s your suggestion for going about a PAT when you already know the score you need to shoot?

    • @wickedsmartgolf
      @wickedsmartgolf  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No point in trying to deny it but then focus back on the one shot at a time mentality. Don't dwell on bad shots, don't future pace to upcoming holes. Stay present, keep breathing, and stick to your pre-shot routine so you're 100% committed on every swing to give yourself the best chance to succeed. Good luck!

      @@wickedsmartgolf I like that term “future pace”. I definitely did that at least once when I was chasing birdies to get strokes back, when I could have just maintained targeting par.

      @@FiveFootFore glad it resonated! It's definitely important to stay present and focus on one shot at a time, to focus on process vs. outcome.

    Nice, yes, go out and play, execute your strategy and let thr golf gods decide on the score today, some days will be lower and some higher, focus on the fundamentals and see where it takes you

    I went from a moderately good player to a really good player when I learned to stay aggressive. If I have a good round going into 18, I can't wait to get to the tee thinking I am going to hit the longest drive I have ever hit in my life. This is why you get "the honors" Don't ever be a basketball team with a 16 point lead and protecting it. Bobby Knight said he only had one team in his entire career that stayed aggressive. And they went undefeated. That is why he was so high on Quinn Buckner. He had a killer instinct.
