The biggest thing I want for Sonic 4 is for them to get Amy's characterisation right. Keep her over-the-top crush on Sonic but also make her capable and strong like she has been for years at this point. The best version of Amy is the one that's still really into Sonic but stands on her own two feet as the most compassionate and kind member of the cast, as well as being a total badass when she needs to be. That moment where she stands up to Silver after watching him wipe the floor with Sonic is great, even if the "I choose Sonic!" line was a little much. Honestly, I have faith they'll get it right. Thus far we've had pretty much the best versions of the Sonic cast. Sonic is cocky and reckless but always has good intentions, Tails is smart and capable but still childish and uncertain, Knuckles is clueless of other people but not an idiot and *very* dedicated to his role as guardian of the Emerald, they're pretty much exactly how I wanted them all to be. Not to mention how great Shadow and Robotnik were in movie 3. I have faith they'll do Amy just as much justice as everyone else.
Nah I’d rather Amy not be obsessive about her crush with Sonic but still be openly affectionate without overdoing it. And I’d keep Amy a character who’s not on Sonic, Knuckles and Shadow’s level. But can still fight fairly well

My prediction is that both Silver and Blaze will be featured in movie 4's post credits. For Rouge, if they really make a Knuckles and Shadow show, that would be the perfect time to introduce her. But I expect Shadow to get either his own show or movie, and Team Dark will likely be featured there.
I completely agree with all your points and im happy to see im not the only one thinking they'll lean on Sonic Heroes. One additional thing I want to throw out there, I think it would be really cool and make a lot of sense if Stone get's roboticized. Its weird to me how Eggman's faithful assisstant isn't a robot but considering this is a slow evolution of eggman's becoming it would fit PERFECTLY. Especially if those predicting the roboticizing virus to be a plot point turn out to be right.
i have a theory that during the post credit scene where Sonic was racing with Knuckles and Tails, he ran so fast that he ended up time travelling to a future where eggman took over the world hence tails and knuckle's absence and the wave of metal sonics.

Maybe like everyone else in the film universe, Movie Amy finds Movie Sonic annoying, but slowly warms up to him. Either way, I'm working off the theory that Movie Amy is from another world, like the other anthropomorphic people. And she came to Earth to seek his help.
I see the army of metal sonics being controlled by one supreme metal sonic: Neo Metal Sonic, who manipulates Agent Stone to get his revenge on Team Sonic for Eggman’s death. So while team Sonic’s busy dealing with agent stone, neo metal sonic copies all their data to turn into Metal Overlord.
If metal is the main antagonist, I sincerely hope it is Neo-Metal. The fact that normal Metal can't speak worked fine for Sonic CD since everyone's mute in the classic games, but a silent antagonist in a live action movie is something that's really hard to pull off effectively and wouldn't work after all the expectations built up by Carrey's Eggman

I love Sonic Heroes, so even just the concept of Sonic 4 being based of Heroes gets me talking lol I think it’ll probably be Sonic CD inspired after all. But maybe they could do a Heroes plot with Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy and Shadow - or a mix of CD and Heroes. Maybe have Tom and Maddie fill Chaotix role or something. Kind of like how Rockwell had a similar role to Rouge, well not much but it was probably the closest to Rouge we’ll get as… I sadly don’t think Rouge will be added since she’s not PG enough, even though she was perfectly fine in Prime. But I’d love to see Omega added. I know in Heroes Omega and Shadow get off to a rocky start. But maybe they could retcon Omega’s story and have him be a robot that Gerald built that Shadow finds while off on his own, maybe in a Shadow spin off if not the 4th movie. But anyway, I’m sure whichever game they draw inspiration from will help them make another amazing movie!
Me and my friends created a theory in a car on the way back from watching the Sonic 3 movie. The story will be similar to Sonic Heroes. Shadow comes back, they go super with Tails, Knuckles, and Amy, and defeat Metal Overlord. Then, in the post credit scene, Silver will appear mistaking Sonic for Metal Sonic (Metal Sonic is from the future.) And then they have a good story for Sonic 5.

Funny idea, but I think Amy should get the Sappho femme fatale treatment with both Sonic/Knuckles playfully fighting for her attention while she's focused on taking out Metal Sonic. Basically, copy & paste her personality from Sonic Boom into the movie, since that show, despite its many cons, has the best version of Amy. Toss in her deep compassion from Frontiers into the mix and you got the Hedgehog version of Kim Possible. 💯
Even if the movie takes more elements from Heroes, I would want the places they travel to to have some elements from CD. Specifically, I would love it if Stardust Speedway was a location somewhere in the world. I want the race between Sonic and Metal to still happen before he and the rest of the characters take on Neo.

So long as they don't go -too- hard into the girlboss thing (having a character who's good at everything and never struggles or needs help can be just as annoying as having a character who's always useless and needs rescuing constantly) and keep her crush on Sonic, I'll be happy. I do think they're more likely to go the Sonic CD route otherwise though. It would be a good excuse to take Sonic out of Earth for a while, and having Eggman be zapped to the past by chaos energy might be a good explanation for his survival (it is 'chaos' energy after all, who knows how the fuck it works).
To answer whether Robotnik created Metal Sonic, it don't contradict anything we've seen so far if he created Metal Sonic as an act of revenge before the events of the 3rd movie took place. Perhaps this Metal Sonic just ran off immediately and started self-replicating causing Robotnik to go into his tele-novella and junk food depression spiral. But I do like your idea of using the Heroes story, where it's just Metal disguised as Robotnik to gather data on the heroes.
They should NOT make Amy a girl boss. The trope horrible ruins most female characters for making them have no flaws or unlikeable traits. I will admit peach in the Mario movie was a bit off but at least she wasn’t unlikable and had some small flaws here and there. I just don’t want paramount to follow the Disney girl boss trope. My advice, show Amy’s flaws to be a fighter but also retain her fun and goofy but caring personality like in SA1, SA2 and 06.

Sonic heroes needs to be built up to more. They said they wanted avengers level movies and I think sonic 4 could be sonic cd still just with maybe amys home being taken over by metal sonic and eggman looking for the time stones and she needs team sonics help to save tmaybe her tem of cream and big the cat. So then it becomes a movie akin to the first avengers, and then heroes could be the endgame or infinity war of the franchise where team dark and chaotic (set up in spin offs) team rose AND team sonic battle like neo metal sonic or something crazier. Maybe like everyone else in the film universe, Movie Amy finds Movie Sonic annoying, but slowly warms up to him.
Either way, I'm working off the theory that Movie Amy is from another world, like the other anthropomorphic people. And she came to Earth to seek his help.
While I doubt they’ll go full CD and Heroes but they might take some elements from them.
That's pretty much what movie 2 and 3 did with S3&K and SA2. They're not 1-to-1 adaptations but vaguely adapt the story of the games

I see the army of metal sonics being controlled by one supreme metal sonic: Neo Metal Sonic, who manipulates Agent Stone to get his revenge on Team Sonic for Eggman’s death. So while team Sonic’s busy dealing with agent stone, neo metal sonic copies all their data to turn into Metal Overlord.
If metal is the main antagonist, I sincerely hope it is Neo-Metal. The fact that normal Metal can't speak worked fine for Sonic CD since everyone's mute in the classic games, but a silent antagonist in a live action movie is something that's really hard to pull off effectively and wouldn't work after all the expectations built up by Carrey's Eggman

I love Sonic Heroes, so even just the concept of Sonic 4 being based of Heroes gets me talking lol I think it’ll probably be Sonic CD inspired after all. I sadly don’t think Rouge will be added since she’s not PG enough, even though she was perfectly fine in Prime. But I’d love to see Omega added. I know in Heroes Omega and Shadow get off to a rocky start. But maybe they could retcon Omega’s story and have him be a robot that Gerald built that Shadow finds while off on his own, maybe in a Shadow spin off if not the 4th movie.
But anyway, I’m sure whichever game they draw inspiration from will help them make another amazing movie!

Me and my friends created a theory in a car on the way back from watching the Sonic 3 movie. The story will be similar to Sonic Heroes. Shadow comes back, they go super with Tails, Knuckles, and Amy, and defeat Metal Overlord. Then, in the post credit scene, Silver will appear mistaking Sonic for Metal Sonic (Metal Sonic is from the future.) And then they have a good story for Sonic 5.

My Amy theory is that she used to live on Sonic’s planet and was friends with him. After he left, Amy went to search for him, going through her own adventures to end up in New York to save him from Metal Sonic. I don't know about Shadow coming back in Sonic 4. I think it's best they keep him out of it and bring him back in Sonic 5! I really want SonAmy to happen so Tails and Knuckles can be those guys that try to ship throughout the movie! Funny idea, but I think Amy should get the Sappho femme fatale treatment with both Sonic/Knuckles playfully fighting for her attention while she's focused on taking out Metal Sonic.
Basically, copy & paste her personality from Sonic Boom into the movie, since that show, despite its many cons, has the best version of Amy. Toss in her deep compassion from Frontiers into the mix and you got the Hedgehog version of Kim Possible. 💯

Even if the movie takes more elements from Heroes, I would want the places they travel to to have some elements from CD. Specifically, I would love it if Stardust Speedway was a location somewhere in the world. I want the race between Sonic and Metal to still happen before he and the rest of the characters take on Neo.

So long as they don't go -too- hard into the girlboss thing (having a character who's good at everything and never struggles or needs help can be just as annoying as having a character who's always useless and needs rescuing constantly) and keep her crush on Sonic, I'll be happy.
I do think they're more likely to go the Sonic CD route otherwise though. It would be a good excuse to take Sonic out of Earth for a while, and having Eggman be zapped to the past by chaos energy might be a good explanation for his survival (it is 'chaos' energy after all, who knows how the fuck it works).

To answer whether Robotnik created Metal Sonic, it don't contradict anything we've seen so far if he created Metal Sonic as an act of revenge before the events of the 3rd movie took place. Perhaps this Metal Sonic just ran off immediately and started self-replicating causing Robotnik to go into his tele-novella and junk food depression spiral. But I do like your idea of using the Heroes story, where it's just Metal disguised as Robotnik to gather data on the heroes.

They should NOT make Amy a girl boss. The trope horrible ruins most female characters for making them have no flaws or unlikeable traits. I will admit peach in the Mario movie was a bit off but at least she wasn’t unlikable and had some small flaws here and there. I just don’t want paramount to follow the Disney girl boss trope. My advice, show Amy’s flaws to be a fighter but also retain her fun and goofy but caring personality like in SA1, SA2 and 06.

Sonic heroes needs to be built up to more. They said they wanted avengers level movies and I think sonic 4 could be sonic cd still just with maybe amys home being taken over by metal sonic and eggman looking for the time stones and she needs team sonics help to save tmaybe her tem of cream and big the cat. So then it becomes a movie akin to the first avengers, and then heroes could be the endgame or infinity war of the franchise where team dark and chaotic (set up in spin offs) team rose AND team sonic battle like neo metal sonic or something crazier.
