Yet another wonderful northbound CN unit grain train G870 passing thru downtown Belleville Illinois

From November 13th, 2024. Oh 🇨🇦! Made it back out and over to Belleville Illinois and the Canadian National railways St. Louis district in plenty of time after eating dinner at home to catch yet another one of their awesome northbound unit grain trains passing thru here bound for East Saint Louis from Champaign Urbana Illinois. So glad the light rain and drizzle had stopped by the time this train came thru here so I could get this video of it as it came past the old train station here in downtown Belleville at Illinois Route 159 at 9:18 pm. My buddy Scott Nauert who you can see in this video was here with me too for it and we sure had fun. I even grabbed out & wore my Toronto Maple Leafs blue home jersey for this 🇨🇦 train type of occasion too. Tonight’s northbound Canadian National unit grain train symboled G870 is in a 2 X 1 motive power configuration tonight. It’s being led this Wednesday night by a Canadian National tier 4 Gevo #3039, then a regular Canadian National Gevo #3886 in an elephant style fashion, then on the tail end of the grain train as a single DPU or rear end helper engine is another regular Canadian National Gevo #2340 with its back end headlight on the dim setting but also its single red rear end marker light is lit up too. So awesome. The 2nd CN unit and the rear end CN helper unit on this CN unit grain train are locomotives we’ve seen before on this same line in the past week or so on the same grain trains G870 and G871 which both go north and also back south.
