    Can you possibly have a look at reviewing the Hakko FX-972 and their FX-9707 heavy duty iron. This station and Iron combination is supposed to be able to handle 200 Watts. Will it do that and is the station easy to use?

  • @davadoff
    @davadoff 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Stations to review. Any station that:
    1. the manufacturer claims it supports genuine JBC C245 tips, and
    2. works properly like you’d expect with genuine JBC tips (no voltage on the tip, no heater current flowing out of the tip, no ground loop earthing problem, no double insulated marking but uses 3 pin mains plug - clearly against regs & CE conformity and a blatant contradiction!)
    I’m also interested in portable TS101 style irons that will take JBC or Hakko cartridges, and an updated station since KSGER that takes Hakko T12/T15 tips if there is one.

    Bought one of this recently, no issues with the control unit but the soldering tips quality isn't good. Four tips presenting random open circuit error messages and the C115-IS tip is short circuited. Horrible customer service based on an AI chatbot whom never answer your questions and when you manage to talk to someone from the store they tried to say it was my fault due to warming up the tips without tin or solder, how is it possible if the shorted one was never been hot? I am very disappointed with this store, they are trying to push me to order more products from them to get an spare to replace the damaged tip. I won't return the full item due the base is solid and the handles ok, but will buy some original JBC tips to replace the bad quality ones they sent.

      @@CanaleTH-camGeneralista Hi, Never tested the original JBC handles as they are really expensive and I dont need that, but the product description says it's compatible. I still using the handles that came with the station and apart the three ones failed at the begining the remaining ones are ok. As I said before, the station base is solid and fast, keep good temperature control and for my hobby is good enough. My problem was the seller, really rude, slow to respond and never offer to replace the damaged tips, he tried to sell me more. So avoid the DIYPHONE Store.

      @@rsimiao Hi, thanks for the advice, sorry if I reply late, I don't receive notifications, yes I read your review on Aliexpress, the product description in the video says that it is compatible with JBC handles ? unfortunately I don't speak English I watch the video with subtitles, from what I understand the transformer is undersized and does not develop 120 watts

    • @rsimiao
      @rsimiao หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@CanaleTH-camGeneralista I am running the station at 240~250 Volts in the UK and yes, the trasnformer warms a lot. Its not designed to that overvoltage. in relation to the power, I don't use that amount of power, it will burn all your tips if not using the JBC ones. If you intend to use the full power I don't recomend it to you.

    • @CanaleYouTubeGeneralista
      @CanaleYouTubeGeneralista หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@rsimiao Thank you, the GVM H3 3 should have the same power supply, in the end the main stations with the linear transformer (compatible with original JBC handles) are: GVM H3 3, Wemon T31, jabe ud-1200, AiXun T420, sorry how long do the JBC clone tips last? The original JBC tips are really expensive, I'm also evaluating the JBC BT-2BWA and the i-CON NANO MK2, even the nano has 80w (should be enough for most jobs) and the tips are cheaper, the problem is the cost, 300€ is a lot for a hobbyist, there is also the PACE ADS200 but the price has increased.

    Power rating is that a requirement for CE or UKAC certification? just had a look again and it not CE marked. Silly me expecting it to have passed conformance tests.

      @@davadoff well I hope you have good insurance as if the testing of all requirements is done and you have a full technical log, I for one would not sign the DOC You do sound like someone who has never worked for company placing products on the eu market.
      If your product killed someone I'd like to hear how you would tell the court that you did not do any testing on your product as you thought it was safe. The likes of EN 601010 are there so you can self certifie that your product meets the safety requirements.
      Self certification means you can do the testing yourself you don't legally need to use a test house, it dose not mean you can pick and choose what testing you do other than emc.
      By the way the emc testing will force you to some parts of en61010 electrical safety anyway.
      By the way I've spent over a million pounds on CE testing and I'm sure the technical director who signed the Declaration of Conformity (DOC) would have loved to have given that to the shareholders.

    It's constantly disappointing that these companies invest the resources into building clones of acceptable quality, but still lie about the capabilities. It would be better to sell this as a 65W station at the same price. It's foolish to design and build good-quality tools and then ruin them with deceptive advertising; take pride in your product!

    I would really like to see an oscilloscope trace of the AC waveform sent to the soldering iron to determine the cause of the low maximum power to the T245 handset.
    Is it the AC RMS voltage to the handset, missing (half)-waveforms or a too high catridge heating element resistance? Does a genuine JBC T245 cartridge make any difference?
    I believe the JBC T245 cartridge is rated to run at 24V RMS which should provide around 120W of power.
