This one captures Margot Robbie's likeness the best! I just wish Bandai included the mallet, the detail on the baseball bat, and the rest of her tattoos. I hope there's either a reissue or some way to add what was missing. What's weird is only the Mattel version includes the "ROTTEN" tattoo, so it's obviously not too small to make.
Good stuff! Too bad about the missing tats. I also wish the stockings were black rather than skin tone. I agree the characters in the movie were interesting on their own merits... it was the plot and plausibility of the whole thing that needed work. Looking forward to receiving mine!
You know, I thought I'd want the stockings to be black too but with them being sculpted it casts a nice little shadow to darken the legs just a bit. I almost think that if they were black it would be way too much.
Once, it only took 2 days for ordered figure to get from Japan to Poland. Recantly The order arrived from Japan to UK in just one day, but then spent a couple more days in UK.

what are the chances Bandai will do BVS WONDER WOMAN? The Mafex version is a total let down and the DC Movie Line has been pushed back due to the possible cancellation of the line... I ordered this figure and can't wait to get in in FEB...
I don't know what Bandai's deal is with Batman and Superman. They skipped it and then jumped on Suicide Squad. Maybe they are waiting for the Batman movie? But if they are I can't see them skipping Wonder Woman.
My absolute biggest issue here is her fishnets. They have zero colour, they're very clearly black in the film. if anything, they needed a heavier wash. They seem to disappear at her knees and below. Also, her tooth (yes, tooth, since she has no multiple teeth) is upsetting, given promo pics show multiple teeth sculpted. Mafex is looking like they got the tattoos better but there is just something about the face sculpts from the proto pics thats just off to me and the SHF is looking to have better knee joints too. Good god is it ever an expensive hobby lol. On the bright side at least we have things to show for it, I use to spend all my collectibles money on going out every weekend and drinking with nothing to show for it but Maybe getting lucky and or a terrible hang haha.
I'm unsure if this is out of scale... the dark knight figures is 150mm. I think this figure is taller. Or maybe the dark knight figure is too short i know batman is like 6'2"
Great review! I've been really trying to not get too deep into Figuarts just because of the price but mannnn, this one is so tempting! I love Harley and really liked the movie, too; as you said, not perfect but it didn't have to be for me to enjoy it, what can I say? ;) Worrisome about changing the hands, though. Darth Maul is my lone foray into Figuarts at the moment and there's a reason why I only ever changed one of his hands: I spent about an hour all together trying to swap his left hand and I was sweating it out the entire time, thinking I was sure to snap that tiny little peg. :S So it's a bit of a bummer to have a figure with all of these extra hand accessories that I'm too afraid to use. :( He's still an awesome figure, though, and the likeness is astonishing. But it does make me pause before considering buying another figure where I'll feel so hesitant to swap her hands. :S Again, I enjoyed the review! :D
What's weird is that very few other Figuarts have given me as much worry as Maul, and now Harley. So you wanting those two are pure coincidence, haha. But yeah, most of my others the hands just pop on and off easy peasy. You can try a little heat to soften the hand up, it's makes them easier to pop.
I think I'll pick her up now. The promo shots of the Mafex look really washed out and the SHF faces look better too. Like that she seems to blend into other displays fairly nicely. This may just be me, but I think I'd like it if this sort of butt sculpting/engineering got incorporated into other figures. It gives a more seamless look, avoids the soft NECA shorts, and doesnt sacrifice articulation too much. The SHF SS Hibiki had sort of the same thing going on and it looks like it worked pretty well. Plus it avoids the butt plate design that ML has that hinders any backwards movement range.
I think the butt engineering would only work with characters in shorty shorts, but given how many of those are out there it could actually be used quite a bit. Hmm, actually, spandex would work. Brain freeze. And I've always been a fan of the knees on the thigh, it's a more natural position since we are usually looking down on figures, rarely up unless they are on a high shelf. That's my rationale anyway, haha.
Really torn on getting this figure. I saw her in person back @ NYCC & she looked damn near perfect/just as good as the promo shots. But when I see the in hand shots...it looks like a pretty big downgrade; the paint looks very flat & very cheaply detailed, especially in areas like the hair or the hand. Idk, it's like both this & the mafex have their positives & negatives, but I don't want to spend money on both just to mod & get the perfect blend.

The Sprukits are Bandai America's model kits. Different scale and not as detailed as the Bandai Japan model kits. Well, the 5 inch Batman and Master Chief are pretty nice. But then Figuarts are straight up action figures. Very nice and expensive action figures, haha.
Please send me a Mezco Batman, haha. Naw, I haven't been able to fit the Mezco line into the budget yet, but the Batms look absolutely great and I regret not having them.
Really hope I can still scavenge her deep in Mandarake. That HLJ preorder session before the official release must be so brief because I somehow missed out that despite periodically checking their page.
We'll soon find out since I already have it on pre-order, haha. Hopefully it releases on time like Joker did. And man, we need to get back to the podcast, it's been such a busy winter.

Sadly, she doesn't look now where as marvelous as the promo shots of the prototype....they also seemed to make her butt much smaller than what was on that promo(which oddly enough seemed a highlight "buying popularity" amongst some collectors). It doesn't look bad....but it looks nothing like the promos we kept getting shown. At All!
I was hoping it would be with the new Chirrut and Baze but it looks like that's not happening. Hopefully it's before all the figures that were shown last SDCC, those are hitting in the spring.
I do not recommend SHFigurarts. Their figures are just shit. The balljoint of the hand came off. The figure can't even stand. The joints are just loose.

I hate that SHF and MAFEX aren't compatible in terms of scale, BUT, I've found a good balance with buying MAFEX male figs and SHF female figs.

Oh yeah, promo pics look great but actually having it in-hand really gives you an appreciation for the figure.

If you think about it, the engineering we seem most commonly is pretty arbitrary from the character design actually.
