Warming up and stretching your fingers before any intense practice is very important, it prevents possible injuries and, from my own experience, it is terribly painful. Good video and extremely important.

@@emmabordersmusic, hey Emma, for most of the songs don't your index finger where you place it on the mandolin, that is where the melody starts

This looks really useful not only for stretching but also as an exercise in shifting and getting to know the fingerboard better ! Purchased and downloaded. :-) It will be a challenge for me but I am sure it will well be worth the effort ! Any chance that you will be doing arrangements etc. for mandola (C-G-D-A) at some point ? Almost no literature out there for the instrument.

Yes! Thank you so much! I have never thought about it, but I would love to get a mandola one day and make arrangements for it!

I play the Tenor Guitar in CGDA, and if you look for music for this you will be able to play straight away as its exactly the same
The English musician Will Fly has a youtube channel which is really interesting, and links to his website where you can download free, 50 tunes that he has transcribed in to CGDA as thats what Will plays.
He is a great bloke with a wealth of knowledge.
      Try his youtube channel.
I hope that this helps, David.

The exercise is like a very complicated melody. I don't think I can remember it though. I have a bouzouki and found some music books for it. I don't play it much because I play mandolin and guitar. I just gave away a keyboard because I never had time for it.
