I like how you take us to Michelin-rated restaurants and mom & pop places as well. Thank you for that. And again, filming keeps getting better and better.
First time on your channel. So glad that you enjoyed Chinese Cantonese BBQ. Although we don't eat this all the time, it's a nice treat our entire lives growing up with Chinese BBQ. Now you are making me salivate! I'm in Northern CA. Too far to try Wah Fung but definitely can appreciate your review. YUM! I see that you answer all your viewers, which is a very nice touch!
Only been there once, on my latest trip to NYC, but it instantly became one of my favorite food spots (if not the favorite) in the city. I agree with every word you said in the beginning about the sauce. Fantastic!
Those are Persol sunglasses and I got them off of Amazon and I love them! The Chinese food in Chicago is great, but NYC is much better, but that is partly for the fact that NYC has a much larger population, which equates to more restaurants and a greater variety. I actually like the Chinatown in Flushing, Queens far more than the Manhattan Chinatown.
I 💚 Flushing China Town as well but Wah Fung is an entity of its own. No duck in Flushing tastes as good as the one from Wah Fung; sorry, I don’t eat pork. Chicken is good as well. They had rice cake with fishy balls but no longer. ☘️😉
Just returned from my NYC arts trip (2 operas at the Met, 1 concert at Geffen Hall, 1 concert at Carnegie), I must say I was hugely disappointed by Wah Fung; mercifully I went on a Wednesday afternoon and the line was short. The meats (duck, roast pork, char siu) all tasted bad...You guys need to come to L.A. for the real stuff. I got a large box + soda for only $9.50 I guess you get what you pay for. With a bad taste in my mouth I then went to Eataly, wow much MUCH nicer than the Eataly in L.A. Molto impressed. You should do a review. I actually went back to Chinatown and had an excellent meal at Deluxe Green Bo, check out their famous soup dumplings!
When I saw you eat soy sauce chicken n Char Siu (roasted pork) which was an authentic Cantonese food that I used to eat back in Hong Kong but your BBQ pork looked kind of fat n greasy😂 $11.50 for all that meat n rice dishes which is a bargain cuz you won't find such good price not even in Los Angeles..😅
Shout out to the iconic take out tins [be they round or otherwise].. The best. Chinese style roasted pork is amazing... At a local place here I have enjoyed the rice plate with tofu and roasted pork. Huge offering and very decent price. It's pure decadence. 😋👍❤️ *here as in, my area of the country 😊
The roast pig at Wah Fung is dollar for dollar the best foodorgasm-to-money ratio item in all of NYC for me. Great video! Unfortunately it looks like Wah Fung is closed for construction as the last time I went there it was closed.
Yeah but the fact that it’s 2+ meals makes it worth it. Coming from Canada I can’t believe how expensive this city is, so it was nice to find good food paired with good value. Keep up the channel
While I am most jealous of "skinny" people, the shear joy & descripted review allows me to acknowledge that you are a "true foodie" & worthy of my respect & admiration. And yes, I am in the process of "binge" watching your past posts. All good for a rainy Sunday afternoon.
I have to remind myself not to watch your videos while I'm hungry! Love this review! You should get some bubble tea while in Chinatown rather than the coffee :)
Closed since May 2023 with no ETA of returning. Could be the death of a Chinatown icon. James, it seems you missed out on their barbeque chicken thigh and leg which was super yummy.
Thank you! Yeah, I love variety. Eating at fancy restaurants is great, but it's refreshing to go to places like this. Plus, it's much kinder on my wallet! Haha!
@@Jamesnu fr they charge $20 for a meal like that where I live and I don't even eat there. There are a lot of places like these around my city so Seeing this affordable food spot makes me see hope that we can eat like this again, good food at low cost, that's somethin special😊

@@proudasiangirl576 Thank you for watching! Indeed! There's a lot of good Chinese Cantonese BBQ in NYC, but Wah Fung is probably my favorite.

It's an amazing place indeed!
Am sorry but am vegan...... but I had to devour that juicy pork just to get to my cabbage...😂
Just kidding ....so delicious.❤❤❤❤
Haha!
all that food and still maintain yourself - secret ?
Haha! Well, I'm always active, and I'm a big runner.
I’ve said it before, the new Frank Bruni.
@@ronh1940 Thank you! I appreciate it!
Good place 👍

Indeed! Thanks for the recommendations!
Few questions 1. Where did you get those glasses?
2. How’s the Chinese in Chicago? Does it even compare to NYC?

That's a shame. You can't win them all. Thanks for the recs!
I’m amazed so cheap, last time I was in NYC, I almost bought a $10 scoop 1 of ice cream
I know what you mean! It's so expensive in NYC. That's why it's so nice places like this exist.

Indeed, it's probably one of the best food bargains in NYC.
That looks very good! I’m definitely trying that place when I visit NYC. I see you enjoy food as much as I do 😁 #foodie
It's so amazing and it's a definite must try! I hope you enjoy it!
That’s where I’ll be going on a trip NYC for cheap eats
It's a great restaurant! I hope you enjoy it!
Hey Andrew, I gotta ask about the Pepsi Rolex. Did u buy it from an AD or second hand?
I wish that was a Rolex, but that's actually a Seiko SKX009, which is still a great watch! I purchased it off of Amazon awhile ago.
@@Jamesnu oh my bad, didn’t look properly lol. Love the vids man, I’ve been making reservations at every restaurant u have been to since rezdora.

The are reopened now. They had a gas pipe that needed to be replaced
Cool shades
Thank you!
Just went here today thanks for the tip. Line up was to the street corner (40ish min) but 2 large for $15 tax in…totally worth it !

Good(minus the swine). I'm from No Pork City 🗽💙
Indeed! You don't have to eat pork to get great food from Wah Fung.
When some one says.. pretty good or pretty damn good as well.. Means they really didnt like it and wouldnt buy it again...lol..
Gonna get me some Wah Fung this week
You can't go wrong with Wah Fung!

I know it's a real shame! I'm hopping it returns, it would be a real loss if it doesn't.
It’s open for business again, I was there yesterday.
They reopened. They had to replace the whole gas grill and other gas related stuff
You have to try and take your Wah Fung and eat it inside a vegan shop
Haha! I'd bet that would make me very popular.
Man oh man that looked great…would definitely have to try that place…keep it up bud
Thank you! It's a must try indeed!
Awesome, looks good! The chicken is always tasty and the roast pork is a closely second, nothing better than that crispy skin!
Indeed! That crispy skin was heaven!
Oh yeah, that now is my kind of takeaway food!😋

Hello! Slaughtering animals constitutes cruelty. Do you fancy the notion of cooks serving customers YOUR flesh?
They probably serve cat and dog 😮
when china become superpower, everyone will eat dog and cat.. it is called global influence
yes, they definitely serve cat and dog when the price of a single cat or dog can be thousands 🙄 use your brains.
Cool show!
