It wasn't busy for various reasons. A. The opening was very 'sudden', there was no official date provided, then all of a sudden earlier this week, stores were like 'oh we're opening this Friday'... must be a very low key soft launch. B. Yes they hired the usual influencers, however, I don't think they were targeting the right demographic... younger people these days shop online. C. There's really no incentive to drive all the way to Smart City just for this, the mall features the same brands you can find literally everywhere on the island. It's a blessing for people who live in the South though. D. However, finally we have a large decent mall, the shops are beautiful and very spacious... nicely designed, retailers did a great job! Hopefully we'll get new brands in the near future.
I couldnt agree more! From all that i have visited in Malta this one is my favorite so far, i love the open spaces. The soft openning kil*ed the vibe of the mall, i see a lot of potential
Nice Shopping Mall, my filipina cousin works in a mall there, but i have not ask her which one yet :-), I'll find out next week, will be visiting her. Thanks for sharing this vlog :-).

There is even there a website where you can buy apartments and you can explore the web of the area! here but we haven't visited yet! I will tell you when I visit the area maybe we will like it as a family! Have a wonderful day Alex!
Very disappointed nothing new you can find these shops scattered in all other shopping mall. Why travel there from north to see what i can still find in our area.
Been there. Such a small mall tbh. Don't know how it'll fare up in the long run. Lack of selection of restaurants, and same usual stores that I can choose to go to Sliema to instead. Not to mention it's inconvenient to reach due to lack of buses. I know it's geared towards the population in the south, but I have a hunch most buyers (especially for the demographic of products being sold at Shoreline) are more located in the central area (Sliema, St. Julian, Birkirkara, etc.). The should double the amount of stores, add a cinema, and quadruple the eateries; then maybe it'll stand a chance. Should've replaced it with one big primark instead. It'll generate more sales than all stores in ThePoint combined lol.
Alex how wonderful yo see one of our famous Australian brands Boost Juice at this new shopping mall. In Australia most malls (we call them shopping centres) have at least 2 food courts, grocery stores (Aldi, etc) and also an Apple or Samsung store. In saying that it looks pretty big😊
Thanks Aleks, was wondering if it's worth visiting. Guess I'll check out on Sunday. You're doing an amazing job for us expats here. Keep up the good work💪

6:04 I mean I remember the time that when i went to Mercury Towers at the basement (or B1) there was also fun area like this one but with Go Kart section
what’s lacking is a food court in the shopping mall like what any other malls have overseas, plus yes they should have other different brands and excluybrands like Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada, Tiffany, Cartier, Versace abd so on so people will have a choice of different merchandise cause if you have shops that are at other malls and no variety what’s the use in f coming there when they could go somewhere more closer to their home, Sephora should open and Mecca cosmetica to give people a variety of clothes and shops!
I wish there were some high end stores on this island but i doubt they would go over well in Malta. When i was in Malta in the late eighties there were some in Sliema but they closed and that tells us something.
Thank you for your video, but I was thinking…why open another mall with the same stores? 😂 this one is exactly like The point. They should do food courts or even big Cinemas like malls in other countries have. Or At least with different stores
19-11-2024. Back in 1990 they ask me for my input, regarding the design of Smart City, it was going to be a industrial complex with a solar mirror set up, and much more palm trees and more flowers but l never was contacted regarding the set up 😢.
A mall would be empty depending on the day and time you wander around. I would bet that the rooftop will be a restaurant, considering the view that the mall was constructed along the shoreline as you captioned in your video title.
Hello. I have a few questions, since we want to move as a family from Serbia to Malta, we have 3 children and I need some information, if possible, how can I contact you?
I fear that these kind of places will ruin a bit of what made Malta such a lovely place for me at least and that's all the local small boutiques and restaurants, everything owned by a local maltese or expat not a big chain. I mean if there's anything Malta doesn't need its a starbucks considering how close it is to Italy and overall how nice their cafés are. But it must be nice to have an air-conditioned, very nice looking mall with all the usual brands under one roof. Its got ups and downs I guess.
i really don't understand the concept and reason why they keep on opening the same shops? no reason for ppl like me to visit more then twice a year there ,since i live in saint julians, anyway , nice video bro

Yep you're right it's exactly the same stores, in every mall, I will they'd get new cool brands and unique stuff. There's the mall in mercury towers which has some different clothes shops in the top floor.. but basically its pointless as you can just go to a mall in St julians etc, no point to go all the way there as there's the same clothes :/ anyway
