Unfortunately the site hosting the colors is no longe available. I have these now available for sale on my Patreon page: www.patreon.com/MikethePrintMan/shop/pantone-color-swatches-for-adobe-703405?Link& They are available for purchase for $3, which is the lowest price I can set them to. I will do an updated video on this for the 2025 release of all Adobe programs when I can.
You are a lifesaver! graphic design college student here, I realized that my lecture, which discussed how to use Pantone colors, wasn't up to date...Adobe removed them! I had to go do my own research. Thank you so much! Hopefully, I'll be able to complete my assignments without spending more money that I don't have. THANK YOU!!!
According to the PANTONE website it was versions 2.3.4. Personally I never used it, I just reuploaded the older versions directly to the newer CC programs on my computer.
Why did you copy the .acb (Adobe Color Book) files instead of exporting the Pantone swatches as .ase (Adobe Swatch Exchange) files? When Adobe updates their apps again, will they possibly disable the older Pantone .acb files at some point in the future which would make them unusable? Would saving the Pantone swatches as .ase files be a better solution for future-proofing? Should we save both .acb and .ase files just in case? Good video.
I hope they don’t disable them, but there is always a possibility. If you can save both, do it. I don’t think I really even though about it, I’ve just been using the ACB files. No matter what, when 2026 versions of the software rolls out you’ll have to do this whole thing over again. Thanks for watching.
If you absolutely need 100% accuracy, then the Pantone bridge is the way to go. However, these swatches are going to get you about 98% of the way there. I wouldn’t worry about them being very far off from the actual printed PANTONE books.
@miketheprintman i don’t understand why? if they are preexisting colors from the former Adobe versions: Pantone does not change existing colors (that would render older designs absolute), they just add more every year.
@@denblaakop I think the whole falling out between Adobe and PANTONE had to do with money (of course). If you have older colors, I don't see what the big difference is, like you said, nothing really much changes. PANTONE claims that their old swatches were out of date and that users needed updated versions. The ironic thing is that ink comes from a can and is set on press, so there is always going to be some issues with what you see on the screen not 100% matching the ink from the can anyway. I think it was all just a cash grab and to make our lives as designers harder.
@ 1. Another company (some Medical giant) actually bought up Pantone, think that was what happened (don’t know so much about it. 2. Exactly, the inc is defined by the color name/code not what we see on the screen 3. It is of course possible that Pantone has gotten better at simulering the correct colors on the screen. But if these swatches was good enough for me to design packaging with them in 2020, they still are… anyways, I bought them, because I hate Pantone Connect 😅
I made this available for purchase on my Patreon page since the original hosting site it shut down. Since you already signed up for a Patreon account you get it for free. Thanks for pointing it out.
A bit wordy, but I definitely wasn't about to pay good money for colors in my image text and document processing softwares. Y'know... the ones that use and manipulate colors. Pantone is so weird. TY!😁
Everyone’s trying to make a buck nowadays. I guess PANTONE just finally found a way to make theirs. At least there is a work around. Thanks for watching.

It should not effect accuracy? it just lack the new colors that Pantone adds every year. right?

Btw. They do add new colors, so it gives more options to use the Pantone connect, but there is plenty in your collection for my needs.
It worked, thank you so much!!
You're welcome. Happy to help!

Thank you!!!!
You’re quite welcome.
Thank you for this video! Pantone Connect is an awful UX!
I agree. Plus I don’t want to pay for something extra that I really don’t need. The old colors were close enough as is.
A bit wordy, but I definitely wasn't about to pay good money for colors in my image text and document processing softwares. Y'know... the ones that use and manipulate colors. Pantone is so weird. TY!😁
this is insane they had a little spat and now all designer have to suffer. $150 a year, not thanks. Thanks for the video.
