    Waiting on my leather grip to get here in today's mail to go on my new Vcore 98. I prefer leather and don't even put on an overgrip once it's on. Maybe it's because I'm just used to them but I like the feel and fact they last longer and hold up better.

      Nothing compares to a brand new Fairway leather grip!

    Good video my favourite racquet and leather grip shown. I have found spray adhesive in a can is much better than double sided tape for the leather to stick to the honey cone I always double check length of grip that it is level with handle before cutting with scissors.

    The bevelled edges of the Fairway grips make them look & feel so good

      I haven't tried the Head leather grips. Do they have a tack to them?

      @@Abe-Lau the Fairway grips have a “special” treatment that gives them a tackiness. It’s not too extreme or anything. I need to try the other manufacturers’ leather grips.

    What brand of double-sided tape do you use?

    • @HammerItTennis

      I used just Scotch double sided tape. It seems to work pretty well!

    Well, The Wilson leather grip comes whit glue, can i avoid all this staple and double sided tape whit it?

    • @HammerItTennis
      @HammerItTennis  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Probably so! Just make sure you get it on tight!

      @@HammerItTennis well.. i didn t work.. the glue was not strong enought to stay in place on my wilson blade butcap.., i had to do it your way and i left a small spot uncovered at the butcap, ho well..

    • @HammerItTennis
      @HammerItTennis  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@martinrosemary5654 leather grips are definitely more tricky to apply. If you don’t get the grip started off right then it will get loose and then will come undone and not work. The staple is about the best easiest way to keep the start tight and secure. Thanks for letting me know how it went for you!

    Is that a Fairway standard or Double Handed size? Also, how does it compare to Yonex?

    • @HammerItTennis
      @HammerItTennis  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Fairway I used was the Classic 48" by 3/4. I wanted to restore this racquet as close as possible to the original specs. I have not tried the Yonex leather grips. How are they?

    • @ryanchow7601
      @ryanchow7601 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@HammerItTennis Sweet. Never tried either. I play with a Yonex Vcore 98 and has a slightly longer grip than Wilson Prostaff and Babolat. Wonder if the standard you used would fit the whole grip.

    • @HammerItTennis
      @HammerItTennis  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ryanchow7601 oh ok now I got what you mean! I would say you’d want the double then. You can always cut the grip shorter, you can’t add to it! The grip is a little wider so it covers more in the same comparable length. I doubt the standard would be long enough.

      I used the Tecnifibre leather grip on my Ezone 100, and the balance point went from 33 cm to 32,5 cm. The Tecnifibre grip is on the ligher side among leather grips, though.
