    As a retired police officer I've seen more suicides then the average person. One thing that I learned through it all was, they didn't want to die; they just wanted the pain to stop. The pain could be anything, illness, finances, fear, loneliness. The list is endless. RIP Robin Williams.

      ....I once met Robin here in New York City outside of the Letterman Show. In those days there was no police barricade and a group of us politely said hi to him. I put my hand on his left shoulder. We were all telling him we were fans of and he seemed like a scared child. I could see it in his eyes. He couldn't even speak from the fright. It was just me in my 20s and other people in their 20s, 30, and 40s. Even a few old ladies were saying hi to him. You could see and feel he sensitivity and kindness. He seemed like a priest or something. LOL. It was so different from the confident guy who would curse on stage. I will never forget that moment we spent with the legend Robin Williams. RIP.

      I just saw the episode "Dr Morkenstein" this morning on RewindTV. His Orson Report will break you....he created a robot and the robot dies in the end. Seeing Robin/Mork truly break down talking of his friend is heartbreaking. It sounds just how we feel about losing our beloved Robin.

    Saw this episode for the first time a couple of months ago and was reminded of the summer day when I passed him on campus while he was filming Patch Adams. I wanted so much to meet him, and I'd waited for a while to do so, but a PA announced to the crowd that he was exhausted after so much filming, and the best way we could show appreciation was to let him go get some rest. It saddened me how many people still rushed up to him after the filming trying to talk to him, get his autograph, or in some other way as Mork says, get a piece of him. I've never really regretted walking away and doing my little part to make sure he got some peace.

It was unique to see the main character reflect on the things they learned that episode, and offer some perspective, and depth, even when presented in a humorous way. MaskedMan66 a long time ago bakeries such as hostess started selling bread in grocery stores pre-sliced. It was super convenient for housewives and a fantastic idea. So whenever a great idea comes along the phrase goes, "that's the greatest thing to happen since sliced bread". I used it a lil differently to add humor like many other people who understand this phrase. but unfortunately your mind is taking the whole thing completely literally.. that's the best explanation I can give you.. sorry kid.. :(

    • @MaskedMan66
      @MaskedMan66 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      And that is precisely where you've shown that you don't understand the phrase. Sliced bread was a wonderful innovation, therefore any innovation or wonderful thing gets called "the greatest thing since sliced bread."
      Your adaptation, however, falls flat because there is nothing intrinsically funny about sliced bread. You have taken something that has a specific meaning and rendered it meaningless.

    Sometime after this Cancer claimed the life of his very good friend and equally talented Comedian Andy Kaufman as well. So Robin Williams carried that heartbreak with him as well.😔B.W.

      I fail to see how it is ironic. The writers wrote a script about the price of fame to capitalize on the recent death of John Lennon. There is nothing to suggest that Robin William's fame had anything to do with his death.

      Absolutely! He seemed to have caught the tail of a comet and then left this World in 1977. Ira Angustain, who was part of The Basketball Dramedy "The White Shadow", did an incredible job as Freddie Prinze in The TV Biopic dedicated to his life.🤔😔🎤🏀📺B.W.

      And Freddie Prinze's tragic departure affected CoStar Jack Albertson profoundly as well. The very talented Character Actor understandably never really recovered from the demise of someone that he considered a son.😔📺B.W.

      Victor Creed it’s their incredible skill to keep their demons locked up in their soul that ends up eating them alive. The smiles and laughter they give us have come at a heavy price.....
      Fame and expectation to be this other entity devoid of anything negative ends up unbalancing them..... with no where to turn, they self destruct, even with a smile on their face.. 😣
