Downsizing is literally the first thing you should do after confederating though. AI armies tend to be garbage.
The lord will have nonsense skills and the comp will be mostly trash. Expensive trash because the AI gets a lot of cheats that players dont.

@@annonymousarmadillo1094 True. But as of late, Legend has actually been quite wholesome and lenient towards people who sent him disasters. Used to be pretty stern and dickish about various mistakes all the time, now recognizes anyone can make a mistake and it just happens.

No shit he confederated. That's how you access LLs you can't recruit yourself. Doesn't mean that it's easy or convenient to do in your first Legendary campaign. And you still have to sustain those 13 armies - at least till you lose your money maker as was the case here.
But let's scramble to belittle this stranger however we can before going back to our third Tyrion Normal/Normal campaign.

This was very intersting and different for a change, seeing you manage an empire out of their deficite instead of fighting desperate wars in syd or running a smooth operation in your stream. Tbh I don't usually watch the entire lenght of a desaster but this one was both instructive and entertaining.

One thing that stops me from ever considering sending a savefile to Legend is because I hate using magic. I feel like every single one of my armies and lords would get the 'Could use more magic you idiot' treatment xD

@@chainsawboy2388 Just a general dislike for it in all games, I never use a Mage, I prefer a Rogue or a Warrior, or ranged, which is why most of my armies are artillery-spam with troops that are functionally bad but aesthetically cool like Lothern Sea Guard. Functionally abysmal, but cool!
@@chainsawboy2388 I can say now, Lore of Metal with Balthasar Gelt is my favourite, because I can put a staunch line of Greatswords or Steam Tanks between the enemy army and a bunch of ranged, and of course Balthy, who can then rain down SEARING DOOM for a single Wind of Magic per cast.

I've never had that many armies in a campaign. It's so crazy to see a half stack of dreadspears and corsairs that has an upkeep of 8k.
This guy did way better than my first legendary campaign as Naggarond. I ended up at war with the whole ordertide and got shafted by chaos all at the same time.

This video saved me from getting into similar trouble in warhammer 3. Playing as Malus on very hard/very hard, I confederated Malekith. I waited until I got the high elves under control, and secured all my borders deleted a bunch of chaos factions I did not want to have to deal with in late game, did not allow myself to get dragged into multiple wars, etc. Despite a solid economy (30k warhammer bux a turn supporting a bunch of hydra/medusa/shades doomstacks), I found myself being 100k in the negative per turn right after confederating, and obviously a bunch of factions declared on me. I already knew I was to be expecting this, and I had some trimming to do immediately after confederating. By the time all of was sad and done, Malekith's armies had been completely dismissed, high elves wiped out, Bretonia asking for peace, Franz wanting nothing to do with me. Only kept a few heroes with spiteful and disciplined, and Malekith himself. Not a single lord had their loyalty go under 5 either. Thank you, Legend.

A trick I recognize when dealing with artillery is that if you can get them into Mele, then they will drop the siege weapons and not get back on even if you disengage.
The "let me guess, declaring war? What the fuh..." at 52:13 made me laugh way harder than it should've.

I enjoy how Legend has this consultation service where he fixes these campaigns Lul.
This is what Legend means when he says that quality of settlements > quantity of settlements. If you're losing money over a stalemate/losing battle that's well outside your borders, that money could be going towards building up/defending secured areas + focusing the attack in areas where you can actually win.
An example why you can't easily trust the auto resolve

Not being at war with half the rest of the world definitely gives a different vibe to this disaster. It's a lot more management and a lot less finicky 2-3v1 battles. Nice change of pace!

Legend, while I admire your tactical skill - I cannot really grasp the justification of clutching on to two Norskan settlements. You maintained full-stack military presence plus Black Ark support there, dooming your Bretonnia front and wasting a ton of money for... what? You did not capitalize on presence there and it's not likely to become an economical powerbase. Keeping Crone there was a dead asset costing you about 60k gold.
While the whole "one enemy at a time" approach is totally understandable as is Ulthuan campaign being the top priority, you potentially could:
A) Disband Hellebron solving the deficit problem. Putting you back in the black at about 105th(-ish) turn and allowing for economic renewal at a faster pace.
B) Rotate her down to northern Bretonnia. You could stop Leon and secure the beachhead for a potential Old World invasion.
C) While it's a gamble, you could still abandon the Bretonnian front and bring her to the outer eastern Ulthuan to take HElves out of the picture/suppress revolts within the conquered territory.
Could you please explain this decision?
