- Bernese Mountain Dog Puppy First Visit to the Vet! Hey guys, Teddy was the first time at the vet. And according to the old tradition, he was accompanied by a cute kitten Simon! A friend of mine also had a bernese Mountain Dog and she was so loving! She died much too young at the age of nine, but she lived a good short life and was loved more than anything in the world. God bless her and the little Teddy! 💗❤

Yeah they generally have a very short lifespan. 6-8 years and half apparently succumb to cancer.
9 is a decent age. My golden retriever died at 7 😢

I was thinking the same thing until I found out that half of them end up getting cancer and the breed has a lifespan of 6-8 years....🤔

@@thatperformer3879 Yeah i researched the dog. Not an incredibly long lifespan.(not that many dogs have one to start with but the bernese is on the lower end) And half of them succumb to cancer.
@@Anth230 if you’re still looking at Bernese it’s definitely worth looking into reliable breeders with excellent breeding history. Unfortunately short life spans and a high cancer rate can be partly blamed on breeding but there are breeders out there who do very very well to find the best blood lines and continue to only breed healthy dogs!! My pup is 6 months old tomorrow and comes from a line of gorgeous, healthy dogs with excellent hip and elbow scores and lived to about 12 years old. I recommend Bernese to all those who are curious about the breed as they truly are wonderful 🥰

Usually when a cat gets bit or bothered even a little they run away but all of your pets seem to genuinely love being with each other
