3:42 Carol Channing predicted what was coming - "we'll have computers all over our house". They thought she was nuts. She's not only a doll, but very intelligent!
Carol was very intelligent beneath the dotty, somewhat chaotic, exterior. An intelligence based on an awareness of self and others, as well as an adroitness for the English language.
I thought it was strange that they had all these young guys with big long titles of what they do, and here's someone with a simple title (Computer Sales) and she had to ask what it was. Then I remembered that this is 1964 and computers were new and big as a refrigerator.
@@PV-pu5iu I don’t see how, she used one word clues albeit repeating the same word for her first one. At the end of the day the invigilator (the Reason guy) would not have allowed her clues if she really had been cheating.
@@PV-pu5iu I thought you meant the word clues. Carol always used her hands, she couldn’t help herself. Technically, she generally did break the rule regarding gestures. However, as you say, she was very entertaining!
@@elspethcoogan1499 Yes, I realized what you meant. I wasn't clear. It's so funny that we're all so caught up in this game all these years later! Thanks for replying to me!
Never heard Carol sing, but with her speaking voice I would say Bonnie Tyler has NOTHING on her with respect to rasp. Another thing I get a kick out of is I'm just a couple years too young to have seen that wicker style hat. I guess Carol must live in Beverly Hills the way she pronounced rodeo as rodayo
I never thought ANYONE could be as annoying as Betsy Palmer. Boy was I WRONG! How many times did Allen tell Carol about her stupid gestures? (more than 2, I know that), and she deliberately ignores him WOOOW! (I can't believe I'm gonna say it, but if I had to choose between her and Betsy, I'd STILL have to go with her)
YOU have extremely poor taste in people. You keep criticizing the decent people and you keep praising the disgusting people which doesn't surprise me because you are a disgusting person.

Its just like an adding machine!

. .that hat is where she keeps her lunch..🛎🙄😍
In the lightning round, for "red," I would have said "hearts" and then "color." My third clue would have been "valentines."
I have a crush on Steve Lawrence. Dang.
well he's 88 years old, or was. until he died last month.
I remember Steve Lawrence doing a sketch playing as "The Godfather", imitating Brando...he was hilarious!!
This episode was SO funny that I've got a problem with catching my breath.
Computer? Ah, something like an adding machine! 😂😂😂😂😂

Only Carol. Only Carol
GOD I LOVE CAROL!!
I just read her autobiography and it was very entertaining!
Carol’s clues for Cuckoo were hilarious.
But cheating!

@@elspethcoogan1499 Oh, I just kind of meant the wild "acting". Not supposed to use hands, but that was ok? It was entertaining, in any case.

Steve Lawrence died yesterday at age 88. Now reunited with his wife Edyie Gorme.
Hard to believe Steve was only 29 years old in this episode.
Actually he was 28.
Love the Hat. Carol has panache.......
“Paula, what does your husband do?”
Carol was famous for her wacky outfits, on What's My Line, she showed up dressed like an Eskimo
Yes! I watched that episode of "What's My Line?" on TH-cam.
Steve sure is cute.
For "Posse" Carol shouldah said *YUP* ..in a deep voice....
😂😂😂😂🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
What is that on Carol C’s head? Was that actually stylish in those days?
Yes it was.
Nobody thought of FlavorFlav!!!!!
What in the world kind of hat does she have on!
A pillbox hat on steroids.
Better then the crap women wear today, with basically their whole naked body showing.
Krista Brewer Only Ms Channing could get away with wearing such a hat! I think it’s rather avant-garde even by today’s standards (2020).
Hospitals give everyone one of those hats after a successful frontal lobotomy.
Steve lawrence is 88 yrs old today
Sadly Steve died on March 7, 2024

I've always admired Carol but that hat looks like a trash can lol

. . .It appears that The Dear Carol Channing ❤️🙏🕯🌼🪻⚘️🌻🌹💐🛐🕊 is wearing a cake 🥮 on her head...😊🤭😄
On spell they probably should have went with the direction of Curse or Charm rather then words.
I don't remember women wearing lampshades on their heads in '64.
