I just received my 2023 40-60 and I have to say it's a one hell of a pack.

I have the original version. It appears that the new version has fewer compression straps, maybe. The larger mesh side pockets are new. The hipbelt looks more padded. And the water bladder bag converts into a "daypack" on this new version...on the old version it was mesh and could be attached to the face of the pack as an outer mesh pocket. The colors are better on the new version.
What I can tell you, overall, is that I really don't like the pack.
      1. It wears oddly on the body. At least on mine...5'10", 165lb, athletic frame.
      2. It's difficult to pack because it's top-load opening is a bit small, and you have to be careful not to catch your sleeping bag or tent wall on the exposed inner Y-shaped frame. The cylindrical piece that connects the 3 parts of the Y-frame isn't chamfered well and has a fairly sharp edge.
      3. There are a ridiculous amount of dangling straps on this pack.
4.The pocket on the top flap is bisected because of the way the pack pleats open and closed. It's difficult to fit much of anything in it. No mid-sized ditty bag or map. It'll fit a headlamp and a few power bars, or small things like that.
      5. The removeable mesh water bladder pocket sucks both as a water bladder pocket and as an outer mesh pocket (when converted). Too loosely attached. Bad design.
I got this bag, thinking that it would solve the problem of needing two different-sized backpacks (smaller and larger), but honestly...I'd rather have two packs than this thing.

Can you recommend how should i pack my sleeping mat with this bag?

Hi there! It will depend a bit on what type of sleeping pad you are working with, and the capacity of the backpack. The Flex Capacitor comes in a 40-60L and 60-80L size.

Thanks! This is a series, so there are different capacity offerings in the line: it comes in ta 25-40 liter capacity, a 40-60 liter, and 60-80 liter capacity. Thanks for watching!

Hi all. I have 40-60 version and though about buy this new 60-80 model. I have to say carry system and comfort is great and I never had that good, maybe Osprey is close to this. Idea with expand size is great, but some little things should be completely redesign. I can agree with top only load(no access from the bottom), but the biggest pain in the ass is top pocket. Come on, why you guys not listening customers? It's maybe looks nice, but when you have to take all important things for longer trip, this is useless part of that bag! Even no another pocket for rain cover, cover is already in this top pocket, leaving less space for gear... Zip is nice, big and strong, but when pack is fully loaded on the corners it's quiet difficult to close, but is possible. No big deal. I recognised you changed old way to attached mesh bag to the buckles. So no more outside? I know you can say-o yeah you have big pockets outside. Yes, but when I have bag full of gear and on evening load my water bladder with 2Liters of water-where I should put bladder to? Side pockets can be full as well. No extra attached points in this bag. I took frame out last time and washed whole bag in washing machine so looks like new again. One more thing I could say about shape of two main carry straps. Could be more bend to the body shape, because when I have about 20-22kg load I have to often play with release/tightening straps because those big ones start squishing my skin close to the armpits. But is not big deal. What about this new yellow colour? Anyone have experience with it? Catching dirt etc? Still- I thing is great idea with compressing straps and I love this bag. Just couple of little things could make life easier. Greetings from UK, Tom.

Hey there, could you please measure the hight of the Backpack when it's empty? I would love to use it for travelling/hiking, but it hast to able to compress down to 55cm maximum hight (the Y Frame has to be smaller then 55cm).
The reason for the 55cm hight limit is the handluggage limit from many Airlines.
Greetings from Germany and thank you very much (in advance).

What size pack are you inquiring upon? The Flex Capacitor comes in 40-60 liter and 60-80 liter and each comes in a Small/Medium and Medium/Large torso size.

      40-60 liters
I would like to use it for Backpacking, but the maximum height for handluggage is 55cm. Could you please measure the compressed height of the Backpack?

      @Enwild  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

The height of the frame on the Small/Medium is 22" - 23" inches tall and the Medium/Large frame is between 24" -25" inches tall.

Do I understand correctly that there is no small frame version of 60-80 backpack?
