Jesus knows there were demons who sat comfortably in the synagogues. The demons would challenge Jesus when he preached in the synagogues. It is blasphemy to take scripture, the Word, to be used by political parties to promote their political agendas. Scripture is not meant to make men fear but rather develop a personal relationship with our creator, G-d. I Hope this sheds good light on the subject.
