      “You’re just a soulless shredder.”
      Was that meant as irony and I’m just thick?! That was the whole *point* of the video, that too many guitarists rely too much on technique. He then gave specific examples with text to point it out of using technique for technique’s sake. I thought the video was spot on.
      Oh, and the playing was good too.

      nice try but you get more FEEL from a Em chord then any amount of shredding maybe try playing on a stratotoanster like jimbli handtricks okay?

    You have some of the tastiest, most melodic soloing stylings I've seen on TH-cam! Awesome dynamics and feel for sure.
    Also, I like your use of whammy for more variety! Shawn Lane and Jason Becker approve 🎸🤟

    Melodic solos will always be my favorite in the "Shred vs Feel" debate. Even though it's a stupid debate

    • @Timliu92
      @Timliu92 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It is one of my least favorite debates too, and IMO also one of the most unnecessary.
      Feel has nothing to do with whether your playing is fast or slow - it is whether your playing makes the music better or not, THAT IS IT. It does not matter how you do it as long as the music you made is killer.

    "playing with feeling" is usually whatever sound a person may be emotionally attached to.

    • @klausbrinck2137
      @klausbrinck2137 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That´s why even a debatte exists: An extreme shredder could say: There´s no such thing as "playing with feeling" , there´s just "7 billion different sounds, that one can be attached to" (exactly as many as humans momentarily in existence).

    The most emotive solo I've ever heard is the ending of The Best of Times by Dream Theater. Petrucci had to pull out all the stops for the song that Mike Portnoy wrote about the passing of his father, and by god he did him justice!
    I enjoyed this solo a lot, there are quite a few subtle tricks you used to make it feel more emotional, at least some of which I caught. It made me want to eat beans.
