I really love how Wario consistently does stupid shit in these videos. Intentionally choosing to AVOID a Star on Bowser's Magma Mountain, constantly missing his shots in Mario Party 2's torpedo game, wasting 10 coins on a Dueling Glove before dueling Jon (who had less coins than Emile) for ONE COIN, and of course, that moment you just mentioned.

Four consecutive 1's is a 1 in 10,000 probability. Now five 1's in a row, that's a 1 in 100,000 chance. That's like rolling a 100,000 sided dice and correctly guessing the number you rolled. TL;DR: Jon rolling five consecutive 1's is a 1 in 100,000 chance.

So, let's analyze: -Chugga taking the long way around was bad for him in the long term and his currently modest supply of coins means he has a very low chance of winning. -Tim has a 3 star advantage and because he took the short way back, he'll most likely get another star or two. He has the highest chance of winning. -Jon has to get an 8 or higher on his next roll in order to capitalize on the 5 coins per star thing going on right now. If he can't make it next turn, he'll still be able to get 5 more stars but at the cost of burning through all of his cash and possibly losing in the case of a tie. He has a decent chance of winning. -Wario is dumb because he's more worried about running around his love letter to money rather than winning. He honestly has no chance of winning barring an insane Chance Time. Really, this is either Tim or Jon's board right now. It really comes down to how the bonus stars go and how much these guys can get in a small amount of turns. I'm betting on Tim winning but let's see if Jon's 1 streak is over. Go Tim!
Just when you thought that this board could not supply us with more enjoyment than it did in 2014... This round has been _so much fun_! This is the most entertaining and captivating game of Mario Party I've ever seen! From the constant 1's to Tim's massive Star count to the overabundance of Mic minigames.... This is simply great.
It is really amusing to note exactly how much that sequence of rolling 1s actually benefits Jon. He gets 30 coins, then Wario lands on his space and gives him 40 coins... That's the moment on which the game hinges.

The only better one would've been triple 2s, for the DK space; triple 3s would've landed you on a blue space, but close enough to the star that you likely wouldn't land on any more blues before getting there, and triple 4s would've landed you on the red space near the star. The only problem was that you kept rolling ones after...

It's actually pretty ironic that Wario chose to bet 40 coins instead of a star. That's the equivalent of betting eight stars for Jon's one. Even under the normal conditions during the day, that's still betting the equivalent of two stars.
He still has enough for 5 stars and he won't make a second loop to get more in one turn anyway. On the upside, Jon now has enough coins to buy 5 stars even in daytime - should he ever get there.
They actually removed the 5-Star Cap in Mario Party DS, meaning that you can buy up to 99 Stars at once on DK's Stone Statue. There's also a Last 5 Turns-Event that makes Stars cost only 5 coins.
The odds of Jon rolling five 1's in a row, if the game truly gives a 1/10 shot per roll, is .00001, or one thousandth of a percent. Just let that sink in.
