I _love_ how Tim just casually challenges Jon to a skill battle and then proceeds to demolish him. :) This would have been completely unthinkable back in Mario Party 1. You're a joy to watch these days, Tim, seriously. And for the record, I'm saying this as someone who usually roots for Jon. ;)
CounterpointClover That minigame seems easy in my eyes barring the opponent thinking the same. You memorize the basic layout of the circles real quick, then focus on one spot as it spins and pay attention to its positioning.
Aw, Tim, you actually saw this comment; that's great! :) NoirCore So? It's still skill-based rather than luck-based. I just wanted to say something nice to Tim, really, because he deserved it and because people don't say enough nice things in youtube comment sections. ^^
Yeah the A.I tends to do weird things. One of the examples is when I was playing Mario Party 5 with my brother last night, Waluigi used a Flutter capsule on himself when he had 30 coins, spent 20 to use it and then said no to Flutter. No idea what his logic was but I fulfilled Chugga's dream for him on that board. "Say no to a star space and still win the game." Board I was playing on was Rainbow Dream.
Do you pay for the Star when you use Flutter in MP5? If so, Waluigi probably said no because he no longer had enough coins to buy the Star. If you don't have to pay for the star when using Flutter in MP5, then I have no idea what his logic was there. What difficulty was he on? Idiot difficulty?
*"We gotta break the streak here." -Tim* I got hyped after hearing that. This board's gonna be a lot more competitive than usual. It's gonna be great. :D
prediction on how boo will win the three will end up dueling each other and boo gets a 10 and steals a star from each of them they instantly rage afterwards
Guys stop begging for Jon to lose a board. It's not gonna happen here. It's the snow theme board and he's Canadian. Nothing can stop him here. (I'm sorry if I offended any Canadians with this comment.)
Emile may be half-French, but he's also mentioned a few times he also has some Mexican ancestry. One does not simply have the name Emilano Rosales-Birou without at least a little bit of Latino blood.
I mean sure, everyone in this game deserves to win if you ask me...but there can only be one at the end of the day. 1:12 You've only had him on once, Emile. 3:04 That must be a pretty strong current to pull in a raft that's 70% into the beach. 4:23 Thank gods the AI in this game can't plan ahead very well or seize an opportunity when it presents itself. I keep forgetting that Ball Dozers is an MP6 game and not MP7. 6:29 How quickly Tim forgot that you need at least 20 coins to ride a Chomp. 7:53 Love that sound clip. 8:54 Huh. I just noticed that the doors the monkeys run through with their dishes was an octopus. Weird. 10:05 It's like watching a Zamboni at work in between Heats. 12:51 Just that random spot on the side where it's warmer than everywhere else on the map. 13:35 When were Duels ever missing (apart from maybe the newer games)? I'm pretty sure Duels have been in every MP since 2, with 3 being the first one to have Duel mini games as we know them. 16:19 I'm sure there are those like that too Emile, but you can't get a world record if you're dead. I don't think the people at Guinness would approve an attempt to break a world record if it cost the attempted his/her life.
Byron Slowe I know. I just couldn't help myself. I never said I wouldn't occasionally make puns during Mario Party. I'll probably just make one at the start of every board.
The gimmick for Snowflake lake is chain chomps, where you roll the dice and potentially stomp on an opponent and get one star from the other. This gimmick returns in the form of Pyramid Park in Mario Party 7. 1:13 not to mention that he's my main in Mario Party. Of course when it is the AI character I want to see make Emile cry he fails. Emile, who would want to die breaking a world record, you need to be alive for the recognition.
Honestly from watching this LP, there's been lots of fun and unique board events and minigames in this game. Been one of my favourite Mario Party games to watch so far.
Between Mario Party 6, 7, and 8, both of these boards in the Mario Party series (Snowflake Lake in Mario Party 6 and Pyramid Park in Mario Party 7), they got their board mechanics recycled for a board in Mario Party 8. It was Bowser's Warped Orbit (which is Bowser's board in Mario Party 8).
It is true that Chugga in Mario Party 5 and Mario Party 6 was Daisy and didn't win a single board in either of those 2 games (in the Runaway Guys's Mario Party series collabs). In Mario Party 6, I would have been 100 percent satisfied if Jon won 3 boards and Tim also won 3. Jon would've won the first 3 boards (Towering Treetop, E. Gadd's Garage, and Faire Square), while Tim would've won the other 3 (Snowflake Lake, Castaway Bay, and Clockwork Castle). Chugga did get his wish about Tim winning.
6:14 hey would you look at that, a Whacka sign! I love Whacka, he's one of the cutest Paper Mario characters. Someone made a plush toy version of him out of felt once. It's just so sad that Whacka is the last of his kind and yet you have to hit him on the head with your hammer or Cudge to get an item from him, and the Whacka's Bump is a darn good item too!
i love tim when you decided to duel. he actually made the most sense here. they have to prevent jon from winning anymore boards, but don't worry, i'm sure jon will find a way to win once more
Time for the game to finally through a bone to Emile. And then he'll lose every star he owns. Also, the center ring is only safe from chain chomps at night, not during the day.
Jon and Chugga have said before that Tim's mike is turned up compared to theirs, so when he says things and they don't react I wonder if they even hear him. Tim is quietly hilarious!
Also I can confirm that Ball Dozers is weighted towards whichever side has human players. Every time I'm the one person playing by myself, I ACE the game, and the same if I'm playing with the three. It's a good game for feeling AMAZING after crushing it.
I especially like this episode as ever since i was a kid if i can play Boo in any game i do! Mario Party, Mario Kart, anything, I've always just loved Boo :')
Ya know, people complain about the car, but if we kept using the traditional method throughout the series, wouldn't people just complain about them doing nothing new?
Hype VoiceActing yes but it's the reasoning behind the car. I think he said that ur action wouldn't effect the other players a lot of the time. he should of really watched these
Hype VoiceActing They should have at least made it an alternative mode at first to see how popular it would be. The drastic switchup of the main formula that little complained about was a bold move that did not have good justification, let alone much desire to keep using it for the next game.
In my opinion no they hit the jackpot with the GameCube marioparty games and the quality has dropped ever since, if something's perfect don't try and fix it I think the saying is. As someone who has played every single marioparty I can safely say I absolutely hate and despise MP 9 10 would be fine without the cars and if it was optional I'd be fine with it but 9 was terrible for me and I will never play it unless forced to
8:35 In the words of Rabbid Luigi... if you have made it to your third round and aren't guessing at random, you have ascended to a plane beyond Mario Party.
My Theory for the AI idiocy. Since There's a Very Hard and Brutal difficulty, it's not that it was like it was before with HARDER difficulties. It's an new scaling system. What I'm saying is, since Very Hard and Brutal are from the get-go they scaled the AI differently, meaning Hard in this game is the equivalent of Medium in the early games...that make sense?
What the layouts for the boards seen so far resemble: -Towering Treetop: Mario's head from the side -E. Gadd's Garage: Still waiting for someone to identify that one (though *no one* seems to be arsed) -Faire Square: Mushroom -Snowflake Lake (*current*): Another... thing... that I can't recognize
Whomp's funny in Mario Party 8. If you choose the path that he's on with less than the required number of coins in King Boo's Haunted Hideaway, he says "You think Whomp dumb?"🤣
RE: Palmtrees in the show: Not quite the same, but my mother has a grape vine over our fence in suburban Illinois, it comes back every year but the grapes are tiny and particularly horrible. It's more just that it looks nice in the summer than anything.
Well these maps are pretty interesting... I'll admit I usually prefer earlier Mario Party games because the later ones got FAR too gimmicky... But this one actually seems really fun.
(time card 2:26) Jon: If it makes you feel any better, we're all tied for stars! Me: Yeah, well, not everyone is tied for coins and you're currently in last place! :P
In Mario Party 6, since there are three bonus stars, all three are received at the end of the game. It is just that the Coin Star (from the previous five installments in the Mario Party series) was removed and replaced with the Orb Star. So the three bonus stars in Mario Party 6 are Minigame Star, Orb Star, and Green Star. Those bonus stars are for winning the most minigames, using the most orbs, and landing on the most Green Spaces. And yes, in Mario Party 6, it's three bonus stars. What is funny though is that this was changed in Mario Party 10, Mario Party Star Rush, and Super Mario Party. In Mario Party 10, it is now 2 bonus stars. But it was changed back to 3 in Star Rush, only to revert back to 2 again in Super Mario Party. However, in Super Mario Party, it is 3 bonus stars for 20 turn games.
Regarding palm trees in snow, in Iceland they use lava to heat banana trees. I know that snow/palm trees aren't really the same thing as irrigated-lava/banana trees, but I feel that I've honored the intent of the question.
For "Snow Whirled": Don't even look at the screen. Memorize the button presses (it will always start with "A"). I got 5000+ degrees by doing that. ("Mario Party 6" was my childhood Mario Party game; I also had "7" and "8" but I liked "6" more than both of those.)
Yeah Tim, take the first MP 6 board you guys played on this series: Jon was completely scared shitless of you at button mashing!
Aw, Tim, you actually saw this comment; that's great! :)
NoirCore So? It's still skill-based rather than luck-based. I just wanted to say something nice to Tim, really, because he deserved it and because people don't say enough nice things in youtube comment sections. ^^
Always been team Tim, welcome to the club!
They picked Boo for the snow board, damn AI has a disguise.
Wolffang731 even better, they chose boo for the star stealing board

0:50 emile: its all your fault that we have the god damn car now.
#preach
Lol IDK Emile sounded somewhat like Tom, during that part. I had to double-check to see whether it was or not
Oh, come on! I actually liked Mario Party 9. I don't get what's wrong with it.
lcrossmk8 mario party 9 was fine but the whole car thing is more of a one time thing
The car just needs to be a playable option. Not a total replacement. I bet less people would bitch if that happens.
Lucas Martinez couldn't agree more
*"We gotta break the streak here." -Tim*
I got hyped after hearing that. This board's gonna be a lot more competitive than usual. It's gonna be great. :D
Alright Game Boo Color, you need to succeed and make up for Game Boo's failure in the previous game. You do not want to end up like Virtual Boo did.
Your brother Game Boo Advance might be a flop too, but that's okay, because we've always got...uhhhhh....I got nothing.
But Dry-S will succed for sure!
Blue_Boo
What about the Wii Boo? it was cool!
ya mudkip sanzma 524. Mudkip? Filling up the gap that johne left?
prediction on how boo will win
the three will end up dueling each other and boo gets a 10 and steals a star from each of them
they instantly rage afterwards
10:02 Okay, I've never seen that happen before. Then again, makes sense since people rarely complete the set.
I'm glad they included it, at least.
"IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT WE HAVE THE GOD-DAMNED CAR NOW!"
Damn, that was out-of-character levels of serious.
The AI is set on hard... as in "I have a hard time figuring out the optimal way to play."
*has 1 coin duel flashbacks*
Thre's no such thing as a Meta way to play....however BOO did do something stupid there.
Since this Mario Party only has two more difficulties above Hard, it might not be as difficult as Hard in other Mario Parties.
Seeing Tim win that minigame felt so awesome.
I hope the rest of this board will be just as amazing
"the rules don't say you hafta live when you land!" That's what's known as a Darwin Award.

There's *snow* way Jon will win ANOTHER round.

MysticMisdreavus you've got this backwards...
"Snowflake" actually refers to white supremacists and their fragile egos.
It does now, but they were the ones who kept using it on progressives asking for safe spaces and stuff.
I like how they used Boo in a board about stealing stars.
The Lurker Oh my god, I never thought of that

i love tim when you decided to duel. he actually made the most sense here. they have to prevent jon from winning anymore boards, but don't worry, i'm sure jon will find a way to win once more
Time for the game to finally through a bone to Emile. And then he'll lose every star he owns. Also, the center ring is only safe from chain chomps at night, not during the day.
that would be useful if this wasn't recorded multiple months ago
The ring part is more for anyone who hasn't played the board before.
Time to wonder how boo can play half of the mini-games
Someone should really make a compilation of all the dumb a.i moments.

Tim is being aggressive with the duels in this game and it's so interesting!
