I am considering an RV-9A or an RV-14A. Any suggestions you'd give? I like the "14's" size, looks, and lower build time over the "9. The "9" gets better gas mileage. Not sure how much smaller the "9" is compared to the "14". I'd love to hear what you think. Chris
They are both excellent aircraft. The -14 will build in half the time of the -9 as the process and design is much more evolved. The -14 is meaningfully larger and thus more comfortable for US-sized adults :) It's also faster, but as you say it will burn more fuel at those speeds. The big downside of the -14 is the engine is ~$15k more expensive new and almost impossible to get used, so your only choice may be to buy new. I'd love a -14 but am very happy with out -9A :)
