@@wackyswacky1374 they are but Circle of the Moon definitely a lot more, but Harmony does have a few great ones but not nearly as much as COTM or AOS in my opinion.
That tile set, The level dissing, and.... oh glob.... DAT SKY!!! you can probably guess what my favorite part of the game is. Its vary surprising such a cheerful area is in such a gloomy castle.
You could make a theory that Dracula uses cheerful areas of his castle to relax himself and remember when his life going well before becoming a vampire or before Lisa's death .
@@Ryan_Thompson_Guitarist These people criticizing the soundtrack are just regurgitating what other people / reviewers have said. Harmony of Dissonance has one of the best soundtracks of the entire series, and these people don't like it because it's chiptune? Talk about bias.
Literally one of the best tracks in the game, seeing Maxim normal yet scuffed up in that one room entrusting his bracelet to you just gives you that "I'll get you the hell outta here alive pal" feeling.
Clear blue skies have appeared in Castlevania 1 when the ending scene of Dracula's castle crumbling appears , Castlevania 2 day time , Castlevania 4 ending , ...

Dafca Flores, 8-bit music, tiny screen (low pixel count for emulators). This game, while still great in it's own right, could use a huge upgrade, as could the other GBA Castlevanias. There should be an anthology remaster.
Fawful99 Storm Play it on a frontlit GBA SP (ags 001). The backlit consoles (NDS lite, GB micro, GBA SP Ags-101) make its palette of colors look oversaturated. It also looks pretty good on the Orginal Nintendo DS (Phat).
Like I enjoyed playing this game a lot, but the soundtrack mostly was a turn-off. It's a shame, because honestly this game wouldn't be so overlooked if more time was put into it. I really did like the soundtracks though.
Only in your heart, you’ll believe is the truth. Look inside yourself and behold the whole truth you have hold, just believe.... 🎶 I love the first few seconds brings back memories of this game and making up silly songs. This was Truly unappreciated soundtrack.
+Th0mmy11 the music is very stale and uninspired. not terrible and certainly has a few good tunes. the game has a cliche story and is a very watered down SOTN. nowhere near as good as AOS. not awful but not worth playing over AOS or COTM imo
weofparadigm Funny, i kind of hate both AOS and COTM because they're extremely slow games. I like the dashing in this Castlevania. I can't bear to sit through COTM again (beat it once) and i literally quit AOS but then later finished the DS remake. Different strokes for different folks, i guess. Harmony of Dissonance is my favorite Castlevania right behind #1 SOTN and #2 Castlevania 4. I think the music in this game is also the best that the GBA has to offer and i don't think it's uninspired at all, in fact i've never heard anything like the score in this game which makes me come back to not only the game but also the soundtrack on youtube as well every time.
+Th0mmy11 COTM certainly has stumbling points but at least it has complex characters, a creative twist on the story and a really cool magic system. AOS is imo the best handheld castlevania ever. totally broke the mold of the series while keeping the style intact. i just find HOD to be paint by numbers castlevania. not awful but nothing that hadn't been done before and better. but that's just my opinion.
weofparadigm Yeah everyone's got different opinions. I have to be honest, i like the GBA artstyle of AOS, but DOS is the one i finished. I really liked that one by the way. Also getting different weapons was awesome. But what i also like about HOD is you know what you're going to get and it does it well. For me games don't have to be innovative everytime to be really good. I knew what i was going to get from HOD and i was extremely satisfied with what i got, nice whip action, nice fast paced dashing, i loved it. Seeing what the different spellbooks did with my sub-weapons, awesome.
It's such a shame that they botched the color scheme on this game. I personally don't mind the bright colors, but so many people did that it got major flak. Underrated game, still one of my favorites. Amazing soundtrack.

How did people find a way to critique the soundtrack to this game? It's so unique!
It's not catchy like the rest of the franchise so people throw it out without thinking about how technical the compositions are
@@YamashitaTsubasa I think it's pretty damn catchy, in fact I think it does an outstanding job given the crude 'instruments' they had to work with.
@Abraham Shoahstein I'll say that, but the compositions are still so good that it comes across in spite of the weak soundfont.
@Abraham Shoahstein Depends on the track. Prologue, Successor of Fate and this track are all improved by the sound font

Harmony of dissonance is the most unique game in the series in terms of graphics and music. It almost seems psychedelic in a way, which is awesome
It is so weird to see a clear blue sky in a Castlevania game
Clear blue skies have appeared in Castlevania 1 when the ending scene of Dracula's castle crumbling appears , Castlevania 2 day time ,
Castlevania 4 ending , ...
Rondo stage 2' immediately comes to mind - though it was released way too late overseas, so understandable
The bass is chaotic!
Absolutely angelic and gothic
This track reminds me of divine bloodlines from rondo of blood. Maybe that's why its so good
I’m glad someone else noticed that. The first 20 seconds or so are basically just the B section from Rondo’s stage 1 music.
Fuck me this one is so good. Would kill to hear a jazz band cover this complete with some improvised solos.
