I really loved this soundtrack. I agree that it would've been better if there was a better synth used, but come on, it's a GBA cartridge in 2002. They couldn't have had graphics that awesome and sound quality to match it. Soshiro Hokkai and Michiru Yamane did the best they could with what they had.
I feel like even CotM had better graphics and music quality (I also liked the songs themselves better) than this game did. I came to listen to this song because I like the melody, but I think the quality of the song is far worse than it was capable of being. There's only about 2 songs I liked from this game, and they're the only thing I did like about this game. The gameplay, graphics and the castles overall felt more interesting in CotM and Aria.
It's called Harmony of Dissonance because the localization team thought (erroneously) that it would appeal more to Western audiences than Concerto of the Midnight Sun
It's called Concerto of the Midnight Sun actually, and so they probably changed the NA name to justify the totally crap sound quality. Great songs, just quality is awful.
@@scissorman44 I personaly feel much more quality (in terms of composition) in Harmony of Dissonance OST than Symphony of the Night OST. SotN has excellent pieces like Waltz of the Pearls, Wood Carving Partita or Finale Toccata, but most of the love in his OST came for the game critical acclaim and PS1 audio quality. PS: My favorite Castlevania track is neither from SotN or HoD, but Requiem for the Dark Souls from Lament of Innocence, wich is a magestic remake of Chapel from Aria of Sorrow.
Thanks to this part of the game, i met the Spriggan, one of my favorite monsters in all the Castlevania saga, this is the main reason I really love this OST.

I've read some comments saying this is a mix of Opposing Bloodlines. The first time I heard this song I thought it had some vibes with Richter theme, but I still they're different.
It’s sad for me too. Sitting up in a lonely, windy tower, that painting of the woman in an elegant pose, covered in her own blood as she sluts herself with a sword. I always wanted to know her story, beautiful and elegant, yet impossibly sad to the point of suicide. Yes it’s sad to me lol
Wheatley, o tijolo because it’s dissonant. Which is what it’s supposed to be... Yeah, I never said it was criticized for a great reason, it’s being criticized for being exactly what they wanted it to be.
In this game - the designers compromised by increasing the quality the graphics and lowering the quality of the sound - the actual composition is brilliant
They should remake this game, I would love to see more of Juste
My favorite song of all time
I can't believe I didn't realize this was a version of "Divine Bloodlines."
this really gave me a vaporwavy feel, like the cloudy windows 98 wallpaper, especially the clouds from the stage itself
Este tema es demasiado majestuoso
Such a beautiful track, and does it's job well. It really gives the feeling of dissonance while still sounding tasteful.

i agree
+Alex Drigo Look aria of sorrow. Same console, better graphics, and an incredible superior sound quiality
Lithering Hell yeah, Aria and Dawn of Sorrow rock! The Advance and DS trilogies are 6 of the greatest games I've played.

Hextator fuck you troll
Probably my favorite track in the game.
Loved this area :D
And the theme is too much similar to ''divine bloodlines'' maybe is because Richter is Juste's son or grandson
I would say Richter is most likely Juste's grandson.
Rondo of Blood takes place in 1792. Roughly fifty years after Harmony of Dissonance. That very well could be the case.
Soma Cruz it makes sense because of his air slash,it reminds me of justes *F O W A R D D A S H*
It's called 'Harmony of Dissonance' for a reason. The soundtrack isn't supposed to be pleasing to hear in the normal sense
A soundtrack so bad they referenced it in the title lmao.
It's called Harmony of Dissonance because the localization team thought (erroneously) that it would appeal more to Western audiences than Concerto of the Midnight Sun
Harmony of lack of harmony
(Also I like the OST)
- this is so pleasing to my ears!

A Dissonância que mudou minha vida👍
a nossa!!
I love this song. I hear Bloodlines at parts and I think that's why I like it so much
Heavily implied that Juste is Richter's father, not grandfather
I understand the hate for the OST, but if this game came out in the the PS1 the soundtrack would be praised
Castlevania IV: Harmony of Dissonance would came out only in PC-FX. The PS1 plastic system can’t hold so holy power of the mighty trinity.
Considering Symphony of the Night came out in the PS1...I'd say no.
But Harmony of Dissonance is the Sotn in a Gba

The brain likes familiarity! Once these tunes are set on your mind they become so beautiful!
Just imagine if this was a stage in smash like holy shit i would pause just to listen.

0:02-0:17 listen closely and you'll hear a bit of Divine Bloodlines (Richter's Theme)

is it only sad for me this melody ?
The classical first part it's sad...

this is more sad and melancholic th-cam.com/video/bt0Ee9QF9DU/w-d-xo.html
Did you guys know that this is divine bloodlines slowed down? :) fun fact
Best speed?
well juste is the father of richter, guess that makes sense
I dont hear it

Agreed
nah, Juste is ok but Simon is *legend* and you can`t argue with that.
Can you upload an extended version of old enemy? When you fight Dracula's wraith?
Most favorite part of the game. Maybe because it reminded me of the Symphony of the Night's Royal Chapel area.
why do people say this game's ost is bad again?
Because the sound quality is abysmal and many soundtracks are just chaotic.
And this soundtrack doesn't loop well.

music itself is great, but quality isn`t.
@@rj_man_ ngl I dont even like it that much anymore
Quality shmality, blah! What does it all matter if the soundtrack is already great?
This needs a CPS1 remix to make the ost better.
Listening to his future grandsons theme lmao
